I dropped Ipod touch in toilet. what do I do?

I Immediately grabbed it out of the toilet and it was on when I got it out it just flickered off. Got a towel dried it and put it in rice and didnt touch it.

Change the rice daily for a week.
Then try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • I've heard of iPhones being cloud locked but you can still use them as a regular iPod touch, that's what my sister does at least. But what happens if an iPod is like that?

I was looking at this iPod 5 on Ebay earlier and in the description it said iCloud locked. I've heard of iPhones being cloud locked but you can still use them as a regular iPod touch, that's what my sister does. But what does it mean when an iPod is cloud locked? Can I not do certain things? I would just like to know this in case I decide to buy. Thanks.

  • Ipod touch 4th gen - what is the yellow bar know as "other" in storage on itunes?

ipod touch 4th gen - what is the yellow bar known as "other" in storage on itunes?  It is using all the space and not allowing me to download anything else.  Is there a way of getting rid of it?

It includes arwor, mail. messages and some app date. Basically, what is not icluded in the other categories. If over about 1 1/2 GB that usually indicates that the "other" includes corrupted files.  Usually restoring from backup eliminated the corrupted files. However, sometimes restoring to factory settings/new iPod is required.
    To restore from backup see:
    iOS: How to back up

  • My Home switch button wont respond on my ipod touch 4th generation what should i do?

My Home switch on my Ipod touch wont respond what should i do?

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

  • My ipod touch 2g burned what can i do ???? help me please

my ipod touch 2g burned what can i do ???? help me please

Setting an electronic device on a bed or other insulative material can cause the device to overheat. If it's still hot, wait until it cools down and it may then work normally. If not, try the normal troubleshooting steps: restart, reset, restore:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
If that doesn't cure the problem, your iPod may have suffered a hardware failure and will need service.

  • My ipod touch is disabled what can i do to fix the problem?

my ipod touch is disabled what can i do to fix the problem?

Connect in recovery mode and restore, explained in these articles: iOS: Unable to restore and iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.

  • Connection drops, iPod touch won't connect

    Hey guys,
I've got two problems right now, and I'm assuming they're related to each other. I'm not 100% sure this is an issue with my AirPort Extreme, but I'm not sure what else it could be.
For the past few weeks, my internet connection has been dropping out periodically. Safari loads for a minute or two, then tells me the page can not be found. iChat tells me "Error: Serv:RequestTimeout." I called my internet provider, and their only solution was to bump our connection from 4Mbps to 8. This was a nice gesture, but it didn't accomplish anything. I'm still having the problems.
On top of that, for the same amount of time, my iPod touch (1st gen) has not been able to connect to the internet at all. At times, a page loads, but if I click a link, the next page only loads halfway and stops, and it's at least a day before I can get one page to load again. This only happens on my wireless network. On several other wireless connections, I can use the internet without a problem.
I'm using an AirPort Extreme from 2003... I don't know if it's starting to go, or if my problem lies somewhere completely different. Any ideas? Thanks.

First turn wifi off then on. If that does not help, try forgetting the network and reconnecting it again. If that does not work,Try doing hard reset. Press and hold the home button and the wake/sleep button, ignoring the red slider, until the apple logo appears. You will not lose any data. If that does not work, try resetting the network.

  • I don't seem to have the genius playlist option on my iPod touch 5th generation-what to I do???

I didn't jailbreak my ipod or download any pirated stuff. I actually only found out that my ipod should have the genius playlist option after reading a review on it. But when I checked under playlists in my music app, only the 'purchased' playlist is showing. What do I do to get the genius playlist?????

    Hi prefdave,
I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact nature of your question. If you are talking about Genius playlists or Genius Mixes and syncing them to your iPod Touch, you may find the following articles helpful:

  • ITunes-- iPod Classic, iPod Touch, iPhone 4 - What to do, what to do....

Like everyone else, I've been eagerly anticipating the arrival of the iPhone 4. Unlike everyone else, I was disappointed in the release, but only in one respect - I thought for SURE that Apple would be releasing a 64GB model. No go, what a letdown!
So here is my dilemma...I currently have no iPhone. I have a 64GB iPod Touch 3G that is loaded with some 6000 songs, videos, applications, notes, etc. I actually purchased a 32GB model first, got the error about not enough room, returned it, got the 64GB model. iTunes tells me that I am currently using 49.41GB, of which 27.54GB is music, 16.62 is video, and the rest is incidental. That's a problem.
I also have an 80GB iPod Classic, which I sync to the same iTunes library. And I have another computer, currently without iTunes.
You can probably see where I'm going with this...I firmly believe in carrying around every piece of music that you've ever owned, because you never know Either I have to change my thinking, or employ one of several possible ideas that have been thrown out there for me:
1.) Install iTunes on computer #2, load up all music, sync it to the iPod Classic. Whittle down the current iTunes Library on computer #1 to something less than 32GB, and the iPhone becomes a "greatest hits" music library for me. Probably the easiest road with some obvious disadvantages.
2.) Back up my entire MP3 library onto external disk, and let iTunes convert those MP3 files over to some lower quality AAC files. I would probably still have to whittle down the library substantially to get below that 32GB threshold.
3.) Figure out some way of getting one iTunes library to sync differently with two different devices, I don't think it's possible. But I do know that there's some way that iTunes realizes that you don't have enough room and will sync to some sort of "iPod Playlist" if available.
4.) Pray that Apple comes to its senses and releases a 64GB model before I jump on the bandwagon.
    Anyone have any other ideas?

With your iPod connected, click on your iPod on the left pane under "Devices." Look at the Summary tab, and you will see the option "Convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps AAC." Next time you sync, it will place 128 versions onto your iPod/iPhone.
Be aware that the first time you use this option, syncing will be extraordinarily slow, since it must do an on-the-fly conversion of each song. In my case, the first sync took 9 hours. On later syncs, it will be quicker, since it does not have to re-convert the ones that are already on the device.

  • My kids ipod touch not working, What can we do?

I connected by mistake the charger of my ipad 3 , to my kids ipod touch 4g, now the ipod touch does not power on it only displays the apple logo and then turns off, then it turns on again but only the apple logo and then turns off again, i tried reset it in itunes and did not work, What can we do? Apple Support recommends the "5 Rs": reset, restore, reading, 'riting, and 'rithmetic.  I'm kidding about the last 3.  Check out the iPod section of Support.
