I dropped my iphone now the screen is black. would a screen repair fix that. if not what do i do i dont want to waist any of my money.

About a day ago i dropped my iphone 4. ever since then my screen has been black. i have been able to hear voice control and music but i dont know how to fix it. it was not far off the ground but to be fair it had been through a lot. i have an appointment to get a screen repair to see if it would fix it. does anybody know if it does? if not please let me know so i dont waste my money. and also if you do know how to fix it please let me know. thanks!

Try Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons for about 10 seconds until the iPhone begins to start. When you go for repair, ask them to just push the LCD connector back down perfect to the Logic Board, is may simply have just been jarred loose slightly. If you go to Apple, this is handled for $149 with perfect replacement iPhone 4 exactly same as yours.

Bring your phone and $199 to the Apple store for an out of warranty exchange of your phone.  You clearly broke it when you dropped it.

  • Baby dropped ipad n now the screen is green?  what does tht mean??

my kid dropped ipad and now the screen is green, like the home screen...i tried to turn it off then on, and the green came on, so now i can see the apps but the green hues are still there?

Try resetting the device ( hold the home and power keys down until the Apple logo appears).  If that does not help, it is damaged.  Take it in for diagnosis.

  • Dropped my iphone in the lake, possible recovery

So I was on the lake and happened to have my phone fall in, i grabbed it but it had already been completely submerged in the water. Is there anything that can be done to make this thing work again or is it a paperweight? I've dried it completely, even used a hair dryer.

    Whyild-
I really believe the worst thing you can do is leave it wet for any period of time, or put it in something that may get debris in the phone. I was told that using the hair dryer would push water further into the phone. How much wetter can it get when it's been totally submerged?
There's a silver strip that you can see when you look in the ear bud opening. You'll notice now, part of that strip is red. That's because it was exposed to water. There is no 'making up a story for Apple', which isn't the honest thing to do anyway. It may be too late now to recover your phone but it can't hurt anything to try. The warranty has now been negated.
An Apple Tech told me on the phone a couple of weeks or so ago, that I was the only one he's talked to who was able to get the phone working again. So ...... you never know unless you try; nothing to lose. Good luck.
I posted the message below on Feb 16, 2008. And the phone is still fine; has worked fine every day since. Nothing changed.

Well, I have a good experience to report. Or is it a bad experience with a good outcome? I dropped my iPhone in the toilet this morning. Took me a second to realize what had happened but then I moved faster than I have in years. The case I use is net on the sides and bottom so offered no protection. I immediately dried it and blew in every opening I found, tried it to see if it worked, ran to read these Discussions to see what to do, and discovered I shouldn't try it to see if it works! So I powered it off. It had been giving me error messages like something wasn't compatible, and it would blink on and off. The screen looked fine, I had my calendar and photos but I'd lost the Internet connection, and Edge, and had no AT&T service bars.
Someone (haven't yet found it again) suggested trying a hair dryer, which I did on COOL cycle. I held it a bit away, alternated pointing it toward each opening, and did that for about 15 minutes or so. I then put it back on the dock, charged it, and synced it. While on the Dock, it would go on and off, ask if I wanted to power off, but I synced everything, left it on the dock charging until it was full and now ... it's fine.
I should have powered it off right away; dodged a bullet there; but I believe the hair dryer, on cool, for a steady period of time helped speed up getting the moisture out, as opposed to letting it sit for a week drying naturally.
Everything is working. Whew!! It won't be going in that room with me again!
Will post again if anything changes.

  • I dropped my iPhone in the sink

i dropped my iphone in the sink when i was washing my hands. it just had water sort of splashed on the screen and i immediately took it out and dried it off and everything was fine. it was sitting for about an hour and i wasn't using it. then when i tried to turn it on and use it nothing happened. like i said, the phone was dried and it was working before. is there any way i can fix this?

    $149
They do not repair .Apple exchange and all returned units are refurbished at The Apple plants in China
So you get a device that looks like and functions like new
Are you familiar with the results of water and electricity mixing

  • I dropped my iphone in the bath..

I dropped my iphone in the bath. It dryed out, when i opened it to see if there was water damage, the white circle signs were still white. Now when i plug in the iphone, i see a battery with a lightning bolt but it doesnt seem to be charging. when plugged in to the pc, nothing happens... is it dead?

If it didn't get wet enough to trip the sensors and void the warranty, you voided the warranty by opening it.
Make an appointment at the genius bar of your local Apple Store and take your credit card with you.

  • Dropped my iPhone in the water.

I dropped my iPhone in the water a few days ago with a case on,however, the case was not waterproof certified. Although my phone still works, ive been having some problems with it. Like it not wanting to charge random times and getting stuck on dock connector mode. The LCI indicator is red aswell.I have Apple Care though. I was wondering if I took it to an apple store if they would give me a new one or not.

Using the hair drier, even on cold, was a big mistake it just forces the moisture farther into the iPhone.
In your original post you said it happened a few days ago, now you say 3 months ago? That is more that a few days. Regardless the moisure sensor has probably been triggered and my answer remains the same.

  • I reset my iPod touch, now the logo blinks on and off screen with no response

I reset my iPod touch, now the logo blinks on and off screen with no response

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
