I dropped my ipod in the ocean..helpppp

I know, how did I manage to drop my ipod into the ocean? Wel, I was running on the beach, and a wave came out of nowhere and took away my ipod. It continued playing even underwater, but I removed it from the water as soon as I could. Now, it doesn't work at all and won't turn on. Is there any hope?

Very, very easy.

    Don't turn it on
Put it in a zip lock bag with dry uncook white rice and leave it there for at least a week
If after week it still doesn't work take it to Apple for a replacement
They will charge you for the replacemnt

  • I dropped my ipod in the pool and put it in rice for three days and now the screen stays white. what is the cheapest way to fix my ipod?

i dropped my ipod in the pool and put it in rice for three days and the screen just stays white now. what is the cheapest way to fix thiss?

There are companies that specialize in data retrieval but it's costly (probably cheaper to buy a new iPod) and more than likely as Allan said, your circuits are probably damaged beyond all hope of retrieving anything. It's worth calling Apple you maybe able to get a discount or a refurbished iPod. Can't hurt to ask, Good luck. (And in the future... no texting in the john.) Sorry, couldn't resist it.

  • I drop my iPod on the floor and now I only can use the home and power button and the screen won't work

I Drop my iPod on the floor and now the screen won't work but it looks perfect but when I touch it it doesn't do anything and the home and the power button work so can someone help

    Try the remaining items of:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • What to do if you drop your Ipod and the top half of the screen is off and the ipod will no longer recognize your figure when you touch the screen

So I dropped my Ipod on the floor and the top half of the Ipod came off and the screen will not recognize my figure when I try to swipe it to unlock the screen what do I do. But keep in mind that I have no money to fix it so how do I get it to work again?

Likely because the drop broke something like the digitizer.
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

I dropped my ipod in the toilet, I haven't fixed it for months. I didn't know you could put it in rice, or to not open it right away. Is it too late to fix it, or is there a place I could bring it to? I don't want to get a new one. The ipod is really important to me, it has been with me forever, and there is important stuff on it.

  • Dropped my ipod in the snow

hey guys! i have a real knee slapper. one of my roommates who is on a co-op work term right now gave me his ipod for the term since he's gone. it's a 30gb black ipod video which i think might be a fifth generation ipod, i'm not too sure. long story short, i dropped the ipod in the drive way in the cold temperature, found it 5 hours later, now when i try and turn it on the logo appears and it makes this angry ipod face that says www.apple.com/support/ipod:( i've tried everything from resetting it to setting it in disc mode but nothing works. it tries to keep on restarting and it just goes in this cycle of the apple logo and the angry ipod face. please help!

I think you mean the sad iPod icon. This is a hardware issue, leaving your iPod in the snow for so long probably ruined its battery and possibly other particles inside it. Read this for help:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61771
    iPod battery tips: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61434
Again, sorry to tell you but this is most likely a hardware issue meaning that your iPod requires professional service.

  • I dropped my ipod in the bath,

i accidentally dropped my ipod touch 5th generation in the bath tub. but i took it out immeadiately after wards. Everything works perfect but for some reason the sound doesnt work.... HELP.
    thanks

You can try drying it out internally by wrapping the unit in a paper towel and putting it in a bag with a dessicant safe for electronics such as silica gel pellets, or failing that in a bag of dry, uncooked rice, for a few days. It's very probable that it's been permanently damaged, but it's possible that if you dry it out, it may then work. If after a few days in the bag it still has problems, then you'll need to pay to get it exchanged (by Apple) or repaired (by a third-party repair service) or buy a new iPod/iPhone.
    Good luck.
