I dropped my ipod in water and i have pictures on there that i need! Hellp?
Someone please help me! I dropped my ipod in a cup of water and IMMEDIATLY turned it off and set it in a bad of rice. I havent touched it in a year and it STILL wont turn on or ANHYTHING! I have very important pictures of my father who passed away. How can i get my pictures back?!
- Charge it overnight
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic. Remove any corrosion.
- If iTunes still will not see the the iPod your only hope is a data recovery company.

Just let the battery die if you can't turn it off. -
I bought an audio book and downloaded it to my iphone...i dropped the phone in water and i have received a different iphone when i go to itunes it doesnt show my purchase. I have the receipt number in my email how do i retrieve it??
At the present time, audiobooks are a one-time download and cannot be redownloaded again for free. You can try contacting the iTunes store to see if they would grant you an exception: http://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html.

What do you do when you drop your iPod in water, and then your speakers don't work
Please help
Hello,
I am currently an owner of an Ipod Touch 4th generation. I see you are having problems with your Ipod Touch, so I will try to find a solution to your problem.
Make an Appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple Store
How did you drop it in water?
Get an external speaker
Hope that helps!
If none of the above solutions work, can you please respond back ASAP as I will try to find another solution to your problem (This might even help others with the same problem!)
Cheers!

I can still see everything and it's charging but I read somewhere that if I reset it that it would work again but I'm not sure if that is true and I don't know how to reset it
That happened to my mom's phone. but she dropped it in tea:( If I were you, the best bet would be to put it in a bowl of rice, so that it is covered, and leave it there for a few days. The rice will hopefully soak up all of the water that's in your iPod. Hope this helps!

Then when i try and connect it to the computer it shows the no battery screen with just the lightning bolt. and when i try to restore it the screen flashes then resest to the no battery screen and i get error 1602. Do you know what is wrong with it? do you think its just the battery cause i can replace that for cheap or do you think the circuts are fried?
No. It sounds like the water destroyed the component inside the iPod.
About your only choice now it to take it to Apple and pay for a replacement.

If you restored the iPhone, all content was erased. If you didn't get the pictures off of it before you did the restore, sorry, but they're gone.

If you did this recently put it in rice to absorb the water. Uhm if not, try to take it to an Apple store and give them a sob story ahha, maybe they'll give you a break. Good luck (:

okay well i dropped my ipod in water on saturday and was wondering if apple would be able to give a replacement?
The Apple warranty does not cover accidental damage. The ipod has a liquid contact indicator installed in it, so they will know that your device was "dunked". So, you will have to pay the repair price to have it replaced. The following link should give you the amount you will need to pay for your model of ipod.

i dropped my ipod in water ... the backlight will come on when the battery is dead and i plug it in .. but when it is on the home screen it won't come on
After drying the iPod in a sealed container od uncooked rice for a week with changing the rice daily, try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem likely caused by the water. -
If i dropped my ipod in water would it still work???
if i dropped my ipod in water would it still work ????????
There are a couple of solutions to that. Most involve silica gel. Silica can be found in little packets at shoe stores and such, it absorbs water and moisture. If you set your iTouch in a bowl of it, and let it sit for 3 days, you may get it back to working.

A very good friend of mine dropped her iphone into water and now it is not working. Her husband recently passed away and text messages from him and from well wishers after his decease are feared lost. Is there any way to retrieve them?
I suggested contacting Compub in Nassau St as the info is priceless and worth the trouble of trying to regain?
Any thoughts? The poor lady is very distressIf she has backed up her iPhone she can replace that iPhone and set up the new iPhone from her backup.
You can put the iPhone that went into water into a plastic baggie with either new silica gel packets (preferred) or raw rice and let it sit for 4 - 5 days. After that time remove the phone and connect it to power for at least a half hour. While it is still connected to power reset it by holding down the power and hold button, wait for the Apple logo then let go of the buttons. Might take several tries. If it revives immediately back it up. -
I dropped my Iphone in water and the on/off button stopped working, how do I fix it?
I dropped my phone in some water and it was only in there for about two or three seconds. I grabbed it and dried it straight away and made sure to get in all of it, and it was fine, everything worked. But about an hour after the on/off button stopped working, so i have to use the home button to unlock it and have to wait for the screen to turn off after 1 minute of leaving it. I cant turn it off and dont know how to fix it. Will it go away on its own, do I have to send it off to get fixed? This literally happened like two hours ago, and my phone is a bit more than a year old. Can anyone help me?
Make an app;ointment at the genius bar and take your credit card. You can get an out of warrnty replacement for an iPhone 4 for $149.
If you had just done it, the advice would have been to shut it off and put it in a bowl or bag of uncooked rice or silica gel for a week. Unfortunately, since it's been powered on for several hours, since then, it may have been permanently damaged. You can try the rice trick, but be prepared to pay for a replacement at some point down the road. -
About a Month ago I dropped we went swimming and I dropped my iPhone in water and it works fine except at the top for the signal it says searching. Can you please help me with this problem?
It's very likely that the phone is permanently damaged - water corrodes the very fine copper strips which form the circuitry very quickly - but only a service engineer can tell you what its condition is and whether it can be restored to health. If possible take it to an Apple Store (make an appointment) for a free assessment. Don't be surprised if you are told you will have to replace it.
