I got an ipod touch 4th gen for christmas and its brand new. about a week ago i dropped it from about 4-5 feet. the glass shatterd and half of the lights on the screen dont work. everything is fine everything works on the ipod but at midway on the ipod screen it doesnt work. you can slide the bar and open the apps you just cant see them. the broken half of the screen is all white lights and its like the lights arnt working on that half of the screen but every thing else is working! will apple replace it with a small amount of charge or no charge?? help. is trading it in to buy a refurbished ipod worth it or could i get a replaced one because its really new and only 2-3 months old help me please?!file:///Users/angelahughes/Desktop/IMG_0042.JPG

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

That's the problem. You can't restore a device to a backup made on a device that was running a higher iOS version than the device being restored. You'll first have to update the replacement to iOS 6, then go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings, go back through the setup screens again and when given the option select Restore From iCloud Backup. Your backup should now be available to restore to.

I have 3 IPOD touches. I just got a new one and set up an apple id for it. When i go to the store, it brings up an old apple id to one of the other ipods. Why isnt it bringing up the id i gave to the ipod?

It tells me to sign in, and brings up an Apple ID and ask for password. the problem is the Apple ID its bringing up is for my other Ipods. How do i change it to bring up my id i set up with That ipod. I never once put that id into the current ipod. Like i dont even know how it got there.

This is what yo have to do:
Go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores and sign out and sign in with the other account.
That is the only place.
Try signing out. Then
Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Then sign back in.

Apple has a recycle program, but it will only give you 10% of a new iPod. Your best bet is to sell the existing iPod and use the proceeds to purchase a new unit.
