I entered my passcode incorrectly too many times and now my iPod Touch is diasbled.

I enterd my passcode incorrectly too many times and now my iPod Touch is disabled. Currently, my laptop is being fixed so I cannot connect it to iTunes without losing everything on my iPod. Is there any way I can regain acces to it?

Place the iPod in Recovery Mode and restore via iTunes.

That is the only way ands the iPod will be erased. The screen-lock is a very good security feature.

    You may have to do this several times.
    Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom
  • Help please - Blackberry Torch - My password was entered incorrectly too many times and contacts deleted. No backup
    My friends child has entered my password incorrectly too many times and my contacts and texts are now gone. The last back up was completed in August 2011, I havent completed a new backup yet - Is there a way of getting all the data since then without a current backup?
    Hi Cid_L,
    Welcome to the Community,
    Well that's a bad news, it seems no other source from where you can recover your data unless you had done backup using Blackberry Protect  and if you had not done that then I am sorry there is no other way of getting it back.
    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
    iOS: How to back up
    If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
    You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
    Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
  • HT1212 I have a new iPhone 5c, I have an old iTunes acct. had to reset my password because I can't remember my old password? I guess I tried too many times and now it says it is disabled. How do I fix this?
    I have a new IPhone 5c, and an old iTunes acct. I changed my password because I forgot it. I guess I tried it too many times and now my apple iTunes is disabled. How do I fix that?
    You might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
    You might then need to log out of your account on your phone by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then log back in so as to 'refresh' the account on it.
    If that doesn't fix it then you might need to contact iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
    (For info you've posted in the Using iPad forum.)
  • My iPad has a passcode on it, but it got typed in too many times, and now it has been disabled.   However, when I try to plug it into iTunes, it tells me it cannot recognize the device until you enter the passcode.
    My ipad has been disabled and now I'm trying to get it to work again.  However, when I plug it into my computer it says that i need to type in the passcode, but i can't until it connects to itunes...also, my ipad has only been plugged into my friend's computer.  it has never been plugged into a computer since then.  Would this have anything to do with my problem?
    This probably has nothing to do with plugging into your friends computer, but unless you have a backup, everything on the iPad will be lost.
    You have to restore the device within iTunes. You want to use the same computer that you always sync with so that you can restore your app data and settings. You can restore with any other computer, but you will lose everything on the iPad.
    You will probably have to use recovery mode
    You can download purchased content again from the various stores as long as you use the same Apple ID, as long as the content is available in the stores, and as long as the content is available  where you live.
  • Hello my kids locked up thier ipad by entering the wrong password too many times and we cant reset it any suggestions
    HELLO THE KIDS HAVE LOCKED THIER IPAD AND IT IS TELLING ME CONNECT TOO ITUNES BUT IVE DONE THAT AND STILL NOTHING
    Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
    3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button.
    5. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
    Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad. Data will be lost.
