Since you've shown us the folder contents it's a good bet it isn't in use (no lock file). And it doesn't look like the file is mis-named as there doesn't seem to be anything else there that would be the .indd file (but just in case, open it in TextEdit and paste the first few lines here so we can see what the file header says), so the most likely case is the file is damaged. Is that on a removable device of some sort?
You can try the tool at Repair corrupt InDesign Adobe files on Mac OS X or send me a link to the file by private message and I'll try the recovery tool I have for Windows.

If anyone is reading this still looking for what caused the issue and how to fix it here is what I discovered.
The antivirus program our company uses, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, was causing some of the PDF files not to open. After troubleshooting the different modules and settings the culprit was..
Scan SSL in Privacy Control Settings. Turning it OFF solved the problem and all the PDF files that previously would not open now open just fine. This issue has been sent to Bitdefender for them to review. If you use a different antivirus program and are having this issue try locating the Scan SSL setting and see if turning it off solves the problem.

Just upgraded to Lion and cannot open files on my old SL partition - permissions error

I have just installed Lion on my 2008 MacPro on a new internal HD and cannot open word/text etc files on the original Snow Leopard disc. I get a permissions error. I can preview the file but not open it. When I do a get info, I can add my user and give it R&W permissions but still cannot open the file. I have a third disc with just videos and no system and this is OK.
For information my upgrade method was as follows:
     Install blank hard disc and fromat it.
     Clone original HD onto new drive using CCC
     Give it a new name
     Boot from the new clone and go through the lion install
     Update the new system to 10.7.4
     Repair disc permissions
Through this method, I have a duplicate set of files on the Lion partition and these I have no problem opening, it is just those on the SL disc.
Any ideas as to how to fix this. I did the duplication as I still want to be able to boot from SL for some old applications and hardware (a film scanner being one).

Well, I booted back into SL, and as I mentioned, I did have filesharing enabled. So I added the whole disc as shared and re-booted back into Lion.
Still no luck. I get exactly the same permissions error and cannot open any files. This seems crazy that from Lion I cannot open files on other bootable partitions.
I added myself as a RW permission on the disc via Get info and still cannot see the files. This is very strange behaviour. According to get info on the disc, I have full read/write access and on the file itself.
I can see all the files on non-bootable partions.

Even I am facing a similar problem. Initially the iTunes worked on my windows 64bit edition. Ever since I downloaded the latest version it has stopped identifying my 4S with an error msg that asks me to download the 64bit edition. I have tried it again and again but it did not help. Actually if you look to the right of this page in the "More Like This " section you'll see people reporting a -3001 error message when using Software Update. I think these are quite old discussions but among the solutions are a Permissions Repair or updating through a new user account. It would cost nothing to try.

You buy one and only one download.
It is your responsibility to move/copy/backup your music.
Certainly you did not update your ipod without making sure that you had transferred anything purchased on the ipod to your computer and included it in your regular backup copy of your computer.

I too added 2nd apple ID when I tried to get Free app from apple store just to get to NONE on the credit card needed. It said it sent confirmation email to my new apple ID email that I have to confirm. Problem is I can not get to the new apple ID email account. On my ipad it logs into my original email account and I see no where to log into another email account. Which I get. But clicking on that link you provided does not give you the option of choosing between 32 and 64 bit installers.
Yeah, that was certainly a 32-bit installer file being referred to in the other message, too. (The 64-bit installer file is called iTunes64Setup.exe.)
Just in case it's an issue with your normal browser not working properly with the system-detection equipment on the page (there's a javascript control that checks for operating system specifics, and is supposed to deliver the correct Mac or Windows installers), let's try a different web browser for the download. If you use Firefox instead of IE (or vice versa), do you get offered an iTunes64Setup.exe instead of an iTunesSetup.exe?
