Well, in his defense, his parents bought him the player so I guess we can't blame him. Though the 6 GB versions were available in November so I guess they really did get 'nervous' about Christmas and like to get their shopping done early! Kudo's to you for trying to remain with the Creative line but for what you're looking for it's obviously not the player for you. Creative seems to be fine-tuning their line for the audio crowd. I'm into mp3 players for the audio. Sure, the ability to watch video's and look at pictures on a decent screen is a plus but for me at least, it's all about the music. And with music, 6 GB is more than enough. Heck, 8 GB would have been more than enough for me. I'm a subscriber to Napster-to-go, so I don't feel the need to carry 00 plus GB of stuff on my portable player. I honestly don't understand the desire to watch movies or TV shows on tiny little screens. But you're also talking to a guy who doesn't watch television. What a complete waste of time and brain cells. Probably the **competitor products we can't discuss here** or one of those players would better suit your needs. Companies are definately picking their niche markets carefully and Creative's decision to not offer hard dri've players any more seems to definately be saying bye-bye to that market. I can't say I blame them. Hard dri'ves eventually give up the ghost and are quite delicate for people on the go. Good ridance, I say. Let Apple, Zune and all the others cater to the Z generation's need to be spoonfed their video/TV addictions anywhere and everywhere. I'll pass. It's one thing to be able to enjoy some music on the go and enhance an otherwise dull work day or dri've. But movies/TV shows at work, school, or wherever? Please. Cut the cord! Just my $.02 - YMMV! Thanks for the feedback, the question is that it will syn all the folders that I have checked, and its total up to 6000 photos which was taking me one whole day to syn. I am seeking is there away that what have already in my Iphone will not be delected if I did not checked on the next syn, and only add in the new album that was checked.

Movies rental fail to download after upgrading to iOS5 on ipad2

I rented 3 movies before upgrading to iOS5. Halfway the process, it stopped, I thought it had finished upgrading. Everything looked the way it used to until I found out that all the contents (music, pictures, movies) hadn't been transferred. So I synced it again. I understand if I have to rent the movies again, which I did, but it won't start downloading into my iPad. Instead, it said 'waiting' and it's been more than 8 hours that it has waited to download. iTunes hasn't charged my account for the second rental yet, but I want to watch the movies. To restart your device you just hold the Sleep/Wake button until the "Slide to power off" slider appears, slide it (the device will turn off), wait about 5-10 seconds, then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.

No, you connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes, select your iPad's list item in the sidebar, click on the Summary tab in the iTunes' main window then click on the Update button. Before you do that, however, be sure to sync your iPad so that iTunes will make a current backup. Upgrading will completely wipe the iPad. After the new OS is installed you will have an option to restore from a current backup. This will then re-install whatever had been installed prior to upgrading the OS.
The procedure is the same for your iPhone.

Hi!! To add more to the issue, the other day, my airport card is nowhere to be found. It now says no airport card installed which is really crazy. I also noticed that my MBP freezes during start up and I had to zap the PRAM so it would open up. Anyone there who experienced the same thing? I'd really appreciate your suggestions. Thanks!

Has anybody exprienced this after upgrading to ios5.1 on the iPad2? I can't connect to 3G network at all. It keeps giving a message of "You are not subscribed to a data network:. But I still have data left this month on my cellular contract.

Hi Miky. After upgrading to ios 5.1 I had the same problem.
I reset the APN on network settings and rewriting the same. iPad now working on 3G.

I had upgraded nearly 1,5 month ago to IOS 5.0.1 and seemed to have no problems during the process (all my aps and books retored fine).
However suddenly today i-tunes says it can't be synchronizes (starting 1/7) because sync session failed to start.
I've tried also with WiFi sync but was always trying to restart syncronization.
I've runned the i-tunes diagnostic for sync and said it passed.
Could be H/W problem with my ipad?

No VGA output after upgraded to ios6 on ipad2

I need help on the above. I have upgraded from ios5.1.1 to ios6 on my ipad 2. And bought a VGA connector to mirror ipad to my projector. But there was no output, in the projector, its message says "no signal detected". I have tried restored the ipad using itune but it was of no help. I have used my friend's ipad 2 running on ios5.1.1 and connect it up to the projector and it has no problem- so the connector cable was okay.
Any input on the above is greatly appreciated. It looks like ios6 has some bugs when runs on ipad2.

IOS 6.1 has fixed this problem on ipad2. I've just tried and it worked smoothly.

My camera connection kit stopped working after I upgraded to ios5. If I plug it in to my iphone I get a message saying it is not recognised, but when I plug it into the ipad it does nothing at all. I've tried resetting it, but that makes no difference.
I have an ipad 1 which I bought because it had lots of storage. I'm going on holiday soon, and I want to be able to upload my holiday photos to my ipad while I'm away.

Actually this sounds the same problem I have on my iPad2.
I use a cheap copy of the CCK which I got off eBay.
It worked great when fitted with a 16gb SD card, but since I upgraded to 5.01 it has stopped working.
Sorry, no solution at this point but it worked on 4.3.3 but not on 5.01.
I'll keep on looking, was considering a proper CCK thinking the cheapmversion may be drawing too much current, but it sounds like that might not work either.

Error 1015 upgrading to iOS5 - iPad 2 - Stuck in Recovery?

So basically the title is a synopsis.
I upgrade to iOS5 on my iPad2 and midway through the update I get the error (1015) and then my iPad 2 is stuck in recovery mode with no firmware apparently and on top of it all my computer does not detect the device so I cannot restore it.
Thankfully I have a friend who's computer has no problem seeing it after that error and I just restore it using his.
The weird thing is that my iPhone 4 had no problem upgrading AND is still visible by my computer.
Once my iPad 2 is restored It is visible again but still stuck on 4.3.5...

Anyone? Nothing?

After updating iTunes to 10.2.2 it wiped out my iPhone, iPad and iPad2 and it will not restore on another pc in the house. I spent 6 hours restoring the iPhone but the iPad and iPad2 has taken 6 hours going thru every step in the support recommendations as well as 3 hours on the phone with 2 separate techs today.
I uninstalled and reinstalled, went thru with the tech and edited the registry as well as the msconfig. Rebooted the PC's, reinstalled, uninstalled all of the anti virus software and did a limited start-up, all to no avail.
You cannot reinstall the last working version of iTunes because the library is synced with a later version - so I have 2 dead devices.
Other friends are experiencing the same problem and I know of 2 dozen others experiencing the same issues.
Apple needs to fix the latest update of iTunes!

Upgrading to IOS5 via Itunes (now GM)

A few weeks ago I borrowed my friend my Iphone cause his broke down,
He installed a Golden Master of IOS5 on my phone but I would like to remove that and upgrade to the normal IOS 5 via Itunes because a lot of apps crash, I was hoping Itunes would recognize the GM and would still upgrade now IOS5 official is released, but this is not the case.
Hope somebody can help?!?

I heard that the ipad2 hd apps will not move over to the iphone 4 or 4s...they are different builds that will only work for ipad...that really *****...
you would need to buy and pay for the apps again if you want them on the iphone...
can someone verify this for sure?
from now on i will only buy apps that have the + on it meaning they can be used on ipad and iphone...
