What has this to do with Pages? You probably did this in Preview.

  • NEW! Import Fillable PDF Form and Collect Responses

FormsCentral now allows you to import an existing fillable PDF form and use the FormsCentral service to collect and analyze the submitted data. You no longer have to recreate your existing PDF forms within the service in order to take advantage of FormsCentral’s data collection/analysis capabilities.
You can also use popular tools like Adobe Acrobat X Pro or Adobe InDesign to create PDF forms that work with FormsCentral.
To import a PDF form go to the “My Forms” tab, click the More button on the toolbar and select “Import PDF Form.” Note: FormsCentral does not support PDF forms created using the LiveCycle Designer (XML-based forms).
Once imported the normal Design tab is replaced with an “Imported Form” tab that allows you to place a Submit button on the PDF form. You can place it on the top left or right of the first page, or place it on the bottom left or right of the last page. A thumbnail shows where the button will appear.
The Options tab shows options that are available for PDF forms (Note: PDF Forms do not support Redirect URLs or Payments so these are not shown)
The Distribute tab allows you to open the form and download the submit-enabled PDF file for distribution. The PDF file can be filled out, saved and submitted using the free Adobe Reader.
The Response and Summary Report tabs will show the data submitted from the PDF form. They function as they do for a normal form file that you created from scratch or template.

I followed this process to import my PDF form.  The link I have on my web page is displaying an error from FormsCentral.  The link works but the web page is confusing to customers.  The message is:
    An error has occurred.
The form does not exist. Please re-enter the web address as the link may be misspelled.
When I saved the submission-enabled PDF, I could only save it to my computer.  I then had to upload it to the web site server and created a link on my web page to point to that URL.
How can I get rid of the Adobe FormsCentral message on the web page?

  • I emailed a PDF form and when the receiver opens it, the document has errors on it. How do I fix this problem?

I emailed a PDF file and when the receiver opened it there were errors in the file. Words on the document appeared different and weren't what they were supposed to be. How do I fix this problem?

What did the errors say? Can you post a copy of the pdf so we can test out. The presets embed the font, but might be a unicode issue, or one of the few fonts which are copyrighted and do not allow embedding.
What application was the pdf was created from, what settings were used, and if you can outline the fonts. What font or font(s) are the ones reflowing?

  • JPG image shows up fine in layout but a section gets cut off a little at the bottom in exported PDF

I've got a JPG inserted at the top of the page and there are text boxes below it.  In the layout everything looks fine, nothing is overlapping or getting cut off.  But when I export the image (best quality) as a PDF, a few of the letters in the JPG look cut off at the bottom.  The image looks like it's aligned straight so I'm not sure why it's only showing some of the letters in the middle section look like the bottoms have been chopped.  Any ideas what the problem is and how to fix it?  Thanks!

urghhh not working still. all of my child folders are in the root folder...sorry for the confusion. the only files in the Template folder are the parent templates. i really don't know what's causing this. i've checked my css file..it's properly linked to the main templates. everything appears perfectly in FF so i'm assuming that if it were a general prob, the pages shouldn't have shown in FF at all. the index pages previews fine in IE and the old pages do as well, except for a few distortions bc i've changed the css rules. but now i also realize that the html file from which created the template isn't showing in IE as well but only in FF so the prob might have started from there but why?? i've checked everything...at least so i think.

  • Text in fillable text form gets cut off and appears only in the lower half of the text form?

I'm trying to create a text-fillable PDF form. However, when I add a text form, the text I test in it gets cut off and appears only in the lower half of the text form by default (see 2nd photo below). How do I correct this and make the text take up ALL the space in the form like the 1st photo?

Have you set the text field properties options to multiline? Is so, please attach a screen shot of that dialog box so we can see how it is set.

I cannot believe the quality of the Acrobat X tutorials. Why can’t they be like the ones for CS.  Some balloon text boxes flash by so fast they cannot be read, timing is also an issue for other balloons.

  • Why can't I create Fillable PDF Forms using Adobe Acrobat X Pro and upload to Dreamweaver?

I can create fillable PDF Forms using Adobe Acrobat X Pro. I can email them to someone using Adobe Reader (free) and they can fill them, save and email to me. But when I upload the form to Dreamweaver CS5, the form is not fillable. And yes, I saved it as a Reader Extended PDF-Enable Additional Features.

I see no reason for this form to fail in Reader. Some questions for you.
    1. On the system with Adobe Reader, what is the system and the version of Adobe Reader?
    2. Are you viewing the PDF in a browser on the system with Reader, or in an Adobe Reader window?
    3. If it's a browser
    (a) what is the browser
    (b) if you download the file instead, and open directly in Reader, what happens?

  • I just downloaded a pdf form and need to open it and fill in blanks but can't figure ohow to find the file

I just downloaded a pdf form and need to open it and fill in blanks but how can I find the file in Adobe so I can open it??
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Steve Odem,
If you downloaded the file from a web page, it most likely went into a Downloads folder on your computer. If you don't know where that folder is, the easiest thing to do may be to use the Find feature of Mac OS or Windows (whichever you use), to search for the PDF form. Once you know where the file ended up, you can easily navigate to that folder in Reader. (Choose File > Open in Reader, then navigate to the file in the Open dialog box.)
Please let us know if you have additional questions.
    Best,
    Sara

  • Ipad app that will fill in pdf form and capture signature with stylus

Hello.  I am looking for an application which will allow me to read, edit and fill out pdf forms AND capture a signature on the pdf form with a stylus.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I currently am using an ipad, second generation.

hullo there, i would personally recommend writepdf, i use this myself and you can do all of the above more or less, you can also create customized signatures and insert them into pdfs. i think what i like even more about writepdf is that you can directly edit docs, anyway, definitely look for it on the app store!

  • Fill a PDF form and then save the pdf

    Hi,
We are implementing an web application that will collection data on a form and the would like to populate a fillable PDF form. I saw the sample code using Acrobat IAC to open a form and then populate the form fields. However, with that example, I am not able to save the pdf file. Can someone direct me how to make that happened?
    Thanks,
    Lei

In that case, I'm afraid that the Acrobat SDK is a non-starter,
because Acrobat isn't for server use. You might like to check out

  • Fill in PDF forms and save/export as *un-editable* PDF?

    Hi all,
I have a client for whom I am creating an invoice template. I created the file in InDesign and have exported as a PDF.
Working with Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.1.4 on Mac 10.6.8, I have managed to add text fields for my client to fill in with job-specific information. (Job number, item / descriptions / costs and so on).
Is there a way that he/she can fill in job specifics, and then save or export the file so that when opened by their client, it appears as UN-editable?
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

I answered this here: Can I fill in PDF forms and export / save as un-editable file?

  • HTML and Fillable PDF forms

    My question is two-fold:
    1. How easy is it to convert an existing fillable PDF form to HTML? What tools are needed to facilitate this process? I know Amgraf has a product that enables this, but I'm looking for a solution that perhaps LiveCycle can render. Is this possible within Designer, or does it require a different LiveCycle server component?
    2. Let's say I was able to achieve item#1 above... what is the process / script necessary to capture HTML form data and have it populate a blank version of an exisiting fillable PDF residing on a server? I understand there is some intermediate CGI script involved, but unsure how to implement this process.
    Thanks,
    Shaun

You can use FormsIVS on LC server to see what your form will look like in html.
Save your PDF as a xdp in Designer and copy over to the forms folder that FormsIVS uses.  I just did a search for *.xdp
    On my box it is
    C:\jboss-4.2.0_mssql2005\server\LC_SERVER\tmp\deploy\tmp262394240426adobe-forms-ivs-jboss. ear-contents\FormsIVS-exp.war\forms
If you have LC server bring up FormsIVS in a browser.  http://LC_SERVER:8080/FormsIVS/
If its your first time, goto Check/Change your preferences and set the admin user name/pwd
then Click on Test your form designs link
Select your form and for Output format select html4.  Click Use EJB or WebService.
What you'll see in your browser is the form rendered by LC in HTML format.  If you wrote script it may not work in HTML rendering.
As for populating a form, you should be able to use FormDataIntegration.Import/Export data or Output service to take xml data and merge it to a blank pdf.  You may want to map a XSD to the form if the structure is complex vs. using the out of the box form structure.  If you have acrobat you can see what that looks like by navigating Forms>Manage Form Data > Export Data.  Not very good if you've got repeating rows.
