I forgot my ipad restriction passcode

I forgot my restriction passcode and had try to restore a few times but the restriction still on. What should I do?

Yes it does. But you can still sync with iTunes to recover all of your media .... Apps, photos, Movies, TV Shows, Music and so on.
If you do not sync with iTunes, and don't have all of your media in your iTunes library on your computer, you can download a lot of the content again for free. However, I assume that you sync if you tried restoring from a backup.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.

  • IPad - Restrictions passcode

I can get on my iPad Ok, but have noticed in Settings>General>Restrictions is set to On but I don't remember setting it. It asks for a 4 digit (numeric) Restrictions Passcode. I have tried my normal iPad login in code with no success and have also tried other 4 digit codes that I generally use. Passcode screen is now starting freeeze (currently for 5 minures) because of unsuccsessful attempts.
    Anybody with ideas?

    Remove restriction passcode
    1. Restore to Factory Default

    2. You can restore from a backup that was done before you enable the Restriction Code.

  • I have an iphone 4 and i forgot it's restriction passcode, i can't restore it and also can't update it. is there any other way to reset the restriction passcode?

i want to reset my iphone to came back to it's factory setting, but it needs restriction passcode and i can not remember it, i can not even restore my iphone to get rid of this problem, is there any other way to turn off restriction passcode?

The only way to get rid of the restrictions passcode is to restore the device. Why can you not restore the device. The restrictions passcode will not prevent you from restoring, only the regular 4-digit passcode to enter the phone can do that. If that is your problem, then see this support document for instructions. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212

  • I forgot my Ipad lock passcode and haven't backed it up. Is there any way I can get it back?

The new update of IOS asked to keep a lock passcode. And i entered one which I forgot. I had to delete my Itunes from my PC a few weeks back due to virus problems. Is there any way I could keep my data and applications and get the Ipad unlocked? I do have my apple ID that I use on my IPAD if it helps. What can I do?

  • HT201304 I forgot my enable restrictions passcode: how can I get it reset?

I accidently set this when I was traveling, probably a good thing. But now I can't make in app purchases.  None of my usual passcodes are working. Not sure what I did, but need this reset.
    Thanks,
    Terri

If you can't remember the restrictions code then was it on the iPad when you last backed up ? If not then you can restore to that backup and it should be removed. If it was on the iPad when you last backed up then the only way to remove it is to reset the iPad back to factory defaults and you can then re-sync your content back to the iPad - you won't be able to restore to the backup as that will keep the code in place.

  • Forgot ipod touch restrictions passcode

So my mom put on a restrictions a few years ago with my old itouch, and we never bothered to take it off.  When I received my new ipod touch this christmas, i backed it up to my old data, which unfortunately included the restrictions. Now my mom and I want to lift it but we forgot and have tried and tried every combination we had ever used. I DO NOT want to restore I. DO NOT!  some people say i can do it with a mac, but I only have a PC.
    So, Long story short:
    I want to lift restrictions
