I forgot my non-service iphone 3g passcode so My phone is stuck on a screen wear the the is an UBS cord and a iTunes logo on it, I've tried every thing but it would get off of it

My old iPhone 3GS  that I had with no service  ,I forgot the passcode. I Tried multiple try's and I never figured it out. I even tried the passcode that was right when i remembered.
So now it is on a screen with a UBS cord and a iTunes logo on it and will not go away . I tried every thing. I love this phone because is and iPod to me.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

Connect it to the computer you usually sync with and use
iTunes on that computer to restore the iPhone. You will need
to have a sim in the iPhone for the restore to complete. The sim
does not have to be from an active account, but it does have to
be from the wireless provider the iPhone is locked to - if it is locked.
