  • HT4993 i forgot my password of my iphone how can i reset it?!?

    I forgot my password of my password how can i restart it without resetting my phone.

    By password do you mean Passcode? Is the iPhone disabled because you are locked out due to the passcode, either forgotten or input wrong too many times? If so, restore the phone from backup, on the last computer your phone synced with, and this will remove the passcode http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414. If you do not have access to the last computer the phone synced with, you will have to force the phone into recovery mode and restore as a new device http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

    I've forgotten my password... how do i fix this problem?  I need the steps in clear detail. I do not have a mac. I have a HP laptop. Please help me. Thnk You.

    Restore.  Everything except the password will be restored.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  Be forewarned that it takes a long time.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
    At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
    If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

    You can try and restore it from the computer to which you've previously synched.  If this does not work, you'll have to force your phone into recovery mode and restore as a new device.  All your data will be wiped.

    You may have to do this several times.
    Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom
    I forgot my password for my iphone 4 and it is now disabled. I am trying to restore it through itunes, but it say I have to put my passcode into my phone first. Is there a way to restore without using my passcode?
    The instructions are in that link. Just follow them VERY CAREFULLY. Especially the part about:
    Turn off your device and leave it off.
    Plug in your device's USB cable to a computer with iTunes. [but DON'T connect it to the iPhone yet]
    Hold down the Home button on your device as you connect the USB cable. Keep holding down the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
    When you see the iTunes screen, release the Home button. If you don't see this screen, try steps 1 through 3 again.
    When your device is connected, iTunes will open. You'll see a message saying that iTunes has detected an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in recovery mode.
    Hold down the Home button on your device as you connect the USB cable. Keep holding down the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
  • HT201263 hey guys i forgot the password for my iphone 4S and i keep on trying any passwords but now my iphone has deactivated it self and its asking me the password but i cant remember it and i dont have the last compter it syniced with!!! so what should
    hey guys i forgot the password for my iphone 4S and i keep on trying any passwords but now my iphone has deactivated it self and its asking me the password but i cant remember it and i dont have the last compter it syniced with!!! so what should i do ?
    In your case your only solution is to restore it ( see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808 ) and you may need to force it into restore mode to do that.  This will wipe everything off it and reset it as new, without the passcode.  You can then redownload purchased content, buy unless you have a sync'd copy of your contacts and photo's they will be gone.
  • I forgot my password for restriction section, how to retrive it?
    i forgot my password for restriction section, how can i retrive it?
    You can't retrieve it. If you could, what would be the sense of having a passcode. If it was retrievable, then maybe someone else could retrieve it and that would do you no good.
    You will have to restore your iPad by syncing with the last computer that you used to sync.
    You can read this article ...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
    Read this as well. In order to bypass the passcode, you may have to use recovery mode in order to restore.
