My son has changed the Windows 8 administrator password on my dell laptop and he cannot remember the password now. I don't have a password reset disk that i was stupid. Could you give me a easy way to reset a forgotten Windows 8 password?
There are many photos of my family in the laptop, i don't want to lose them. So please give me an available method to reset Windows 8 administrator password without data loss.

Actually, I think that's how you are supposed to do it. The default is usually welcome, but I'm pretty sure there's a jazn-data.xml file that contains the password encrypted. You can manually edit it there, then restart it and it should work.

You router has two passwords.
1) The router login password must be given to login to the router and see the router settings. The default password is "admin". If you changed the password and cannot remember it, the only option is to reset the router to factory defaults (using the reset button), then setup the router again from scratch.
2) The router also has an optional wireless encryption password. To find this password, login to your router, and click on the "Wireless" tab, "Wireless Security" sub tab. Here you will see your encryption method. Nearby you will see your "key" (sometimes called password or passphrase). If you want to reset your key to something different, you can change it here, then click the "Save Settings" button, and wait (3 to 60 seconds) for the screen to refresh. If you change your key in the router, you will need to change it on all your computers.
For WEP, enter WEP "key 1" (found in the router) into your computer, not the password or passphrase.
For WPA or WPA2, enter the key (sometimes called password or passphrase) into your computer.
Also note that if you are using WPA2 encryption, and if your computer is using Windows XP, then the computer will need to be upgraded to SP3 to do WPA2. Vista already supports WPA2.
