I found a bug in Windows Phone 8.1, inside updates "preview for developers".

OS version: 8.10.14147.180
Talk about "Apps Corner".
This app will let me give people access to selected apps on my phone.
But, in ex-USSR communities there are most popular social network - VKontakte.
And there if user will be use official app for VK and he will be listen to the music and pause it. After that, user will switch on Apps Corner mode and will give this for another people for using, they may take full access to app VK's! By means of controller
of music there at top slide-down panel, if press on the song name.
It's very important.
I would like to get a small reward.
Thank you.

Congratulations

  • Preview for Developers update for Windows Phone 8.1.1

    Start your phone updates
Microsoft has just pushed out Windows Phone 8.1.1 for those participating in the Preview Developer Program.
It's believed to fix the following issues:
lingering issues with those not getting the Lumia Cyan firmware
    errors in installing
and even a fix for HTC users

This bit is interesting from the Windows Phone Blog in regards to this update.
Remember, while we are releasing Lumia Cyan for a large number of phones, there still may be some of you that are not offered the Cyan update, yet. However, as explained in the blog, we’ll continue to add more Lumia devices every couple of days over the coming weeks until we bring everyone up to the latest.

  • REPLACED PHONE, CAN'T GET UPDATES ON PREVIEW FOR DEVELOPERS

    Hello,
I originally had a NOKIA 920 running Preview for Developers, but the screen cracked. I was sent a Lumia 1520 as a replacement. However, after running the setup and logging into my Microsoft Account, I did not see my Backups from ones running Preview for
Developers. My apps, phone history, and historical texts are all missing. I've manually downloaded the Preview for Developers app, to get the updates to try to get my old backups. However, after running 'Check For Updates', it is saying that my phone is up
to date. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Please Help. I really appreciate any feedback.
    Thanks

How did you do that?  Do you mean you sync to iTunes that had the ipad library?
The phone with the issue, settings - general - reset - erase all contents and settings - this will wipe the phone clean and then restore from your backup.

  • How do I distribute a dll with UserControl made for Windows Phone 8.1 Xaml WinRT to other developers

I have created a dll for Windows Phone 8.1 Xaml WinRT.  It has two UserControls and two classes with APIs for developers to use.  In the Silverlight environment, I would just send the DLL from the BIN directory to the other developers who would
reference it and be able to consume the UserControls.
With WP 8.1 Xaml there are several files in the BIN directory besides the DLL; there is also the following:
    A .pdb file
    A .xbf for each UserControl
    A .pri file
    A .xr.xml file
When I send it to the other developers and they have all of the files from the BIN directory, they reference the .DLL but get the following when they try to use one of the UserControls at design time:
TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.
TypeLoadException: Could not find Windows Runtime type 'Windows.UI.Xaml.TickBar'.How do I need to package this for the other developers to be able to consume properly.  I looked at Visual Studio
Extensions that that seems like a lot of work to just send someone a DLL.
    Dick

    Hello Dick ,
I have a problem similar to your problem, currently I am making a one dll file that contained  one class file and one User control. after build project
I could see files like  this a photo.
Acutually I am trying to  make a extension sdk, but I don't know correctly how to place files to dirctroy.
As mentioned by you I tried to follow.
    LIBRARYNAME.dll
    LIBRARYNAME.pri
    LIBRARYNAME(folder)
    ---UserControl.xbf
    ---UserControl.xaml
    ---UserControl.xr.xml
But I can not use the xaml( usercontrol.xaml ) on when installed in other apps.
This is my vsix folder sturucutre ,Let me know if you ever know about that
    best regard
    Derrick

  • Re: Nokia Windows Phone 8 Device App Updates

I replied to the main topic but thought this deserved its own thread.
Has anyone else not received notification of updates? I haven't received one store notification for an app update in a week, including all the recently updated Nokia system apps.
    Is this a known issue?

Note we suspect one of the updates is causing the remove from charger sound and also possible causing the phone to freeze for some users as well. So user beware.

  • Windows phone markteplace NOT showing UPDATES.

    Hi there,
The windows phone marketplace is not showing updates for apps. Apparently when i gte into marketplace and then select the app (that has already been installed), i get an option of update and share. Why is this so?
Before updating to the current (latest frirmware) the update was availbale even in the marketplace tile. Is it because of the maintenance process being carried out with marketplace (as mentioned by a user in the discussion page?).
Oh... and yeah, have done the restart as well. Still the same.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Preview for Developers Windows 8.1

Hi guys i want to know the size of Windows 8.1 developer preview...?
can i install through mobile data...?

No, you must be on WiFi. Not sure about the size of the update. The first part is about 2MB as far as I know and will download over cellular but that will not do anything but set up the main update.

  • I Think It's Time That Verizon Opens Up Testing Of Updates & Firmware To The Windows Phone Community!!!

Waiting for Verizon to release updates on a reasonable time table has become a complete failure.  If you only have a couple technicians in house testing the 4-5 devices you only carry and it takes this long, there's a problem with your technicians.
If you don't want to allocate the time, money and resources to a platform that your sales reps never push or even mention in stores, or on your website or over the phone, I think it's time to either drop the line completely or turn to the Windows Phone Community to do your job for you.
I think it's time that Verizon takes a queue from Microsoft and opens up testing of updates and firmware to any and all Windows Phone Users that want to help the cause and better support the platform in the process.  You can have your legal department draft up a clause that releases Verizon of any liability if a user opts to test updates or firmware.
What else better than to have the Community help in the cause (in masses) over the limited few technicians you have in house testing out the updates and firmware.  You will get all the feedback you will need to make a proper decision as to push the updates or firmware or go back to Microsoft and make fixes to any/all bugs that are found.
In a technological age we live in, to not take advantage of a community of users who would be more than willing to test out products, goods, services, you are just shooting yourself in the foot.
If you look at the numbers of how many users signed up to be part of Microsoft's Developer Preview app, you will see that there are millions of users willing to take the risk in order to help the cause while being a part of the testing process, making the platform better in the long run.
It's time for change, it's time to embrace the community, it's time to respond at let the community know one way or another if we are going to get updates and firmware in a timely manner... and not just one update or firmware in a year cycle.
Windows (9) is going to be released to the general public as Technical Preview on September 30, and you can guarantee that millions of users are going to download the OS and test it out and submit feedback via the OS and Microsoft's Community Forum in order to make it a success...  So why don't you Verizon do the same and open up beta testing of updates and firmware to the Windows Phone Community here!!!
Think about it, take a poll... but do something, one way or another... It's time to stop keeping us paying customers in the dark regarding updates and firmware that improves the experience, enhances our devices and provides the security that we need for our phones.  If you take good care of us, we will continue to be customers, renew our contracts or even sign up for Verizon Edge Accounts.
But if you keep us in the dark, you can guarantee that you will get customers leaving when there contracts are up because Windows Phone Users are loyal to Windows Phone... PERIOD!!!
Waiting for Tidbits and Elector to grace my post with there constant negativity and start a war of words as usual... since they love stirring the pot and angering the Windows Phone Community every time they reply to posts.  I just can't believe they spend that much time here on the forums replying if they are not a paid Verizon employee or a paid basher from a competing platform.

Well I found nothing wrong in your post. So why even make a statement like the quote I included?
Once more I am a retired government employee. So I have the time to post. Or has my rights been taken away to voice an opinion?
Your posts was great you were not whining about your rights to file complaints to the FCC or FTC etc. One of the best I have read.
And I am not trying to sway you from your phone choice. If you looked at my avitar it shows apple iphones. But I use and have used androids and not Windows phones.
However your numbers of windows phone users all leaving over the issue is miniscule in the number of users of Android and iOS devices.
I have written many times I wish all the devices get updated like iOS devices do. But at present that is not happening
No bashing, no adversarial post just a little common sense is all I use.
And again your post was great.
    Good Luck

  • EE Windows Phone 8.1 Update Announcement?

EE has a testing policy like every other network.
If you want an update announcement like that then join O2.
EE has decided not to do this because their testing policy is stricter than other networks so take longer and sometimes it fails the test so has to be sent back to be altered. This causes delays and which will mean deadlines missed.

I know this is an old thread, but I've just found it when looking for information about 8.1 Update 2 (GDR2) on my Lumia 830: brendonx wrote:
That doesn't even give you a date.
So what you on about.Having previously owned an HTC Windows Phone 8S, which was "unable to receive the upgrade from WP 8 to WP 8.1", what I would have greatly appreciated was a place to look to find out if a given update is even being considered by EE, for a given phone.  As it turned out, by installing an official HTC unbranded rom and signing up for the Preview for Developers, I was able to install 8.1 on the HTC 8S with no noticable bugs, but only did so after EE eventually responded to the overwhelming volume of questions they received about it after months of owners realising they hadn't received an update that everyone else had received. In my current situation, the Windows update tracker shows that it is only EE that has not provided GDR2 for the Lumia 830 in the UK.  There are ways to get the update by installing an official unbranded ROM, but I'd prefer not to mess around with flashing my phone if I EE are working on providing the update. But I have no idea if they are doing so, or plan on doing so. I don't need firm dates, or even long-shot estimates.  I just need to know whether it is being worked on or not. Please, EE, consider keeping your customers informed without us having to beg you for each little tidbit.

  • How to change the Button content as CamelCasing in Windows phone 8.1 Message dialog

    This was already raised in
Stack over flow, While showing the native Message dialog in Windows phone, i cant change the captions as camel case of command buttons. Is this a bug with windows phone 8.1(WinRT) are is there any workaround to fix this issue?
    Sankar

This isn't recommended and violates the system style.
If you want a custom dialog you need to use a different control. The MessageDialog always lower cases the buttons to match the system style and is not generally customizable.
If you use a ContentDialog you can customize it fairly extensively, and it doesn't try to fix the case of its buttons. You'll probably want to create your own ContentDialog class (there's a template under Add.New Item...) with your desired contents, but here's
    a quick content-free example:
    ContentDialog cd = new ContentDialog();
    cd.Title = "My Title";
    cd.PrimaryButtonText = "CoNtInUe";
    cd.SecondaryButtonText = "sToP";
    await cd.ShowAsync();
    Also note that the guidelines
for message dialogs suggest using clear and specific verbs rather than generic OK/Cancel.
