i found a ipad but i tried unloking it but it has the find my iphone app and i tried to find the owner but nothing happend so what can i do?

You can turn it into the police. That's all you can do.
Security measures in iOS 7 will prevent you from ever being able to use it. This is intentional.
Turn it in to the police, and hopefully, the rightful owner will claim it.

• I found an iPad. How do I get it back to the owner?

I found an iPad along the side of the road. It's cracked unfortunately, but still works. It has a passcode, so all I have is teh serial number. Apple Chat directed me to the Reporting a Lost or Stolen Apple Product, but that has no way to register a found item. Certainly there's a way for me to enter the serial number somewhere, and for Apple to then reach out to the owner of the device - provided it's registered - to contact me about getting back. Any ideas? Thanks!

No, Apple does not get involved with lost or stolen devices, so they cannot help you with that.
Turn it in to your local police would be the only thing I can suggest.

• TS4006 I used find my ipad from my iphone. I have now found my ipad. How do I re-activate it?

I used "find my ipad" last Friday, from my iphone. I found the ipad this morning at work, where I left it. How do I now, re-activate the ipad? It does not turn on.

Charge it in a wall outlet using the original accessories. Leave it alone for several hours, then with it still plugged in, reset by holding down the power & home buttons until you see the Apple. Let go and the device should reboot.

• I found a iPad Mini and would like to return it to the original owner. I believe it was previously stolen and it cannot be activated. Any idea how I can get it back to the original owner?

I am very disappointed (yet I somewhat understand) Apple and how they completely have no interest in helping return lost items. I don't believe the person who traded me this was from around here so I don't even know where to begin. I seen on ebay you can sell them for parts but I don't really believe in doing that and would like to at least try my best to get it back to whom it belongs to. I will be contacting my local police department regarding this but I don't think they will be able to do much if it was stolen from somewhere else. However if nobody claims it in 90 days and I have a letter from my local police station saying I am the new owner, will that be enough for apple to unhold their policy of proving the item belongs to you?

• Has my ipad been hacked?

I have to noticed recently that a website keeps appearing in my history, but I definitely have never been on it. I don't know if its happening to anyone else, but it's www.peanuts.com?? Has my ipad been hacked? Is there anything I can do do stop it? Please help!

After using my iPad this morning and came home in the afternoon, I noticed when trying to log in, there was a keyboard in the bottom half of the screen and my four digit passcode in parenthesis right above. If freaked me out. No one was home at the time, or had access to my iPad. I wish I had taken a screen shot.
The only way I could get out of it was to shut down and log back in. What could had caused that?

You should contact your local law enforcement to turn it in to them. They can best determine how to proceed.
FYI posting personal details on public forums is generally a poor idea. I understand your desire to help, but it can cause a lot of problems.
I hope you are able to get it back to the owner. Best of luck with that.

Thanks fore the hint. Are you shure it´s from apple?
This popup is not a normal behavior and I can´t see if it comes from apple.
The is no hint on apple.com that its save and a wanted behavior.
Is it true that I have to put in 8 strings everytime I update an app?
my ID + PW
and question 1 - 3 + PW?

• I have found a IPAD, searched everywhere to find the owner, facebook, Apple etc. I have now erased all data but when I turn it on it says the IPAD is currently linked to an apple ID. Can I override or delete this?

I have bought a new car and found an IPAD in the back seat. The dealer cannot tell me who drove the car. I serached everywhere to find the owner, Facebook, etc
I decided to erase all the data from the IPAD, everything went OK BUT when I tried to set it up, it asked me for the owners apple ID.
The message is "this IPAD is currenly linked to an Apple ID"
Is there a way to delete this account thus allowing me to use it.
If not, I guess I'll throw it away

Activation Lock is doing exactly what it was designed to do - preventing a non-owner from using the device as their own.
But why just "throw it away"? The dealership should be willing to tuck it away in their lost and found, as the owner may well show up looking for it?

• My Ipad was hacked. I can not use it. What should i do?

My Ipad was hacked. I can not use it. What should i do?

Then call Apple and speak to someone in account security. Someone has logged on to iCloud using YOUR Apple ID and used Find my iPad to lock the device. They are now, apparently, trying to collect a ransom from you to release it.
The device was not hacked. Your account was. If you had set up two factor authentication, that wouldn't have been possible. You should really do that after you get this fixed.
You may also want to report the extortion attempt to the police.

• On 7-20-2013 I found an iPad in WI and would like to return it to it's owner. Please provide some type of contact info to ID it

On 7-20-2013 I found an iPad in WI and would like to return it to its owner. Please provide some type of contact information to ID it.

Apple won't do that. (this is a user to user support forum by the way, you're not speaking to Apple themselves)
Your best bet would be to turn it over to the police, or run an ad (having the owner either provide the unlock code to ID it, or something)
Or if you have access to the device, peruse the contacts and find someone to call (for example if you see an entry for 'mom' you can contact that person and say 'i found your kid's ipad')
Apple doesn't run a device location service.

• Having virus "1970" and some of mails duplicated since my iPad was hacked

Having virus, title + no subject, and some of mails duplicated since my iPad was hacked on 6th July .
I trashed them, but they seems disappeared totally. I have laptop but it seems stop the virus. therefore this is
iPad's topical problem as you don't have much protection, I realized. I could go
To the shop to discuss but I'll away from this Sunday , so time is very tight. please help what I could do.
Regard .

The iPad cannot get a virus unless it is jailbroken like Menneisyys stated above. Reboot your iPad and see if that helps.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If that doesn't work, quit the mail app and restart the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

• I found an ipad today in the garbage and tried to restore it, but its passcode protected, how do I delete it?

My boyfriend found an Ipad on his garbage route today, strange but true, how do I delete the info on it & passcode? i already tried to restore it, but it didnt work.

I would get it to the police before what happened to a thief here in Dubuque occurs. Two iPads were stolen from adjoining homes. One owner turned on "Find my Mac" and saw it near one of our harbors, contacted the cops. When they got there there was only one occupied car. Meanwhile the owner activated the alarm which the officers heard. The cops charged the guy with second degree theft. They found three other iPads and a GPS in the car. Maybe he found them in the garbage. This is in this mornings newspaper.

• HT1212 Why hasn't Apple done anything about the easy iPad passcode hack?

If yours is lost or stolen, the passcode can be bypassed in seconds! Don't believe me? Google "ipad passcode hack" and find out how simple it is to do with a "smart cover" and a couple easy steps.
It seems outrageous that Apple would allow such an obvious flaw to go unaddressed for so long....

From an article posted on SecurityNewsDaily.com:
The flaw was first reported by Mark Gurman with 9to5Mac, who explained that the attacker who unlocks the iPad 2 will not have complete access to the iPad, but will be able to gain entrance to whatever was running when the device was locked.
There is a solution to keep your iPad 2 protected from the Smart Cover attack. In the settings menu under the "General" tab, disable "Smart Cover Unlocking" to prevent someone from using a Smart Cover to get around your password.
