I found an old iPod classic of mine that is synced to a computer that is long gone. I want to get the music and photos from this old iPod onto my new computer. Every time I hook the iPod up to my new computer it wants to delete what is on the iPod and replace with the contents of the iTunes that is currently on the new computer. I don't want to do that. I want to keep what is on the old iPod and transfer it to iTunes. Any help? Thanks!
See this excellent user tip from another forum member turingtest2 outlining the different methods and software available to help you copy content from your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes.

I have a iPad were I have opened I tunes match ect linked to my pc I have since found my old ipod classic which I have loads of music on but that was all linked to a mac which I don't have anymore, is there anyway I can sync them both without loosing my music, if I plug my ipod into PC it won't read it
You need to transfer the music from your iPod on to your iTunes library on your PC, since that is where you are currently syncing and where you are signed into iTunes Match. It doesn't matter that you were previously syncing it with a Mac, and you won't need to reinstall iTunes on your PC. But you will have to use 3rd party software such as Touch Copy to transfer any music not purchased from the iTunes store from your iPod to your iTunes library. Here's another guide on this, which is shoter and you may find easier to follow: Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive. Also, if you're using iTunes 11, go to View>Show Sidebar. This will make it easier to follow along with these guides.

I have a iPod 2nd generation and it will not charge or connect to itunes
I have a iPod 2nd generation and it will not charge or connect to itunes, I have tried pressing the power button and home botton together and nothing happened.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Seems that you have to update Logic to the latest version (9.0.15) to get it to work in Lion.

I have a blue screen on my ipod 4g and it will not do anything? What do i do?
I have a blue screen on my ipod 4g and it will not do anything? What do i do?
Try resetting:
Hold the home and power buttons at the same time until the Apple boot logo appears. No data will be lost.
If that doesn't work, just let the battery drain. Once you charge it back up it should work as normal. -
My Ipod has been working ok. Today I turned it on and it shows the icon that means it needs to be plugged into ITunes. I plugged it in to the computer and it will not recognize it. It will not do anything now, because it still is showing the iTunes icon. Any help?
Elitegate, the poster siad his iPod has the Connect To iTune screen, You can't backup the iPod when in that mode.

Hi there I have an ipod classic which will not charge and keeps saying "Please Wait Very Low Battery" can anbody help me its just sad to see it go.
Normally it takes 2 to 4 hours to fully charge an iPod Battery, using a USB2.0 port or wall charger.
Even if the battery is dead, you can have it replaced at Apple Store for about US$60 or at any 3rd Party Ipod Service Center for less. -
My Ipod 5 will not charge. It died and now will no charge to turn back on. What should i do?

Does anyone have a way of making it not to do this? It will still charge and everyting off that cord. It's just really odd.
Have you tried this?

I have Windows xp on my oldercomputer and Windows7 on my new laptop. I synchedmy iphone4 to the old one . When I tried to synch to the new one, everything got screwed up and it had to be restored at the Apple store. . Can I synch it to the old one to get bac kmy stuff and then to the new latptop so I can back it up?
Not sure if this applies to your region, but in Australia the SIM password is often written on the "credit card" sized plastic card that the SIM was provided to you with the phone by the telco. Do you still have this? It could be in the iPhone box?

I have a new ipod Classic 160GB. I already have an Itunes account. The Itunes account recognizes my device but will not sync my library to this new device.
What do I need to do?Hi Amy2250,
Have you tried to sync music to the iPod via the iPod subdirectory of iTunes? To do this, plug your iPod into your computer, go into iTunes, click on the iPod tab, click on 'Music' in the iPod subdirectory and select whether you want to sync your whole iTunes library or just selected songs and press sync.
Alternatively, have you tried manually transferring music onto the iPod using the 'drag and drop' method? To do that, go into iTunes with your iPod connected, click on the iPod tab, in the iTunes iPod Classic subdirectory click on the 'Summary' tab, then tick the box saying 'Manually manage music' and click save. Then, in the same subdirectory click on the 'On this iPod' tab and click on Music. Then, select the songs you want to transfer either in Finder or Windows Explorer, select the songs you want to copy to the iPod and drag them to the blank list in the 'On this iPod' area of iTunes you just opened.
Good luck,

I have a G1 IPod and it will not charge. Is this normal?
I need help.
My 2nd gen iPod Classic battery died years ago but still works when connected to a power source. If yours lasted this long, that's amazing.
As planb77 mentions... time for a new battery.
You can get an iPod nano for as little as $49. That's probably less then a new battery for the G1 iPod.
