Next time before having to pay this regular Microsoft tax, include your iTunes library with your computer's backup per the instructions included with this link.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1751
iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store from an iPod, iPad, or iPhone, but this is for iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store only.
First you need to re-authorize your computer with your iTunes account with iTunes if you haven't already done so. With your iPad connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPad.

Have you redeemed your iTunes card to an account associated with an Apple ID?
Once you have your iPad associated with an Apple ID AND you have an account with a credit card associated with the same Apple ID AND you have some 'store credit' (from redeeming your iTunes card) then purchases use the store credit before they charge the credit card, so you should be ok!
Personally, I use 'store credit' as a way to monitor whether or not there have been any 'unauthorised' purchases because as soon as the store credit is zero, the security code from the credit card is needed for further purchases!  It does mean that I have sometimes to top up store credit before making a purchase, but 'better safe than sorry'!

  • Bought a new Ipod for daughter for Xmas. How can I use ICLOUD to sync Itunes only to her IPOD

Bought a new Ipod for daughter for Xmas. How can I use ICLOUD to sync Itunes only to her IPOD and not everything else on my iphone etc?

On the iPod turn off iCloud for calender, contacts and other things (Settings>iCloud) and turn off automatic downloading for apps and books (Settings>Store).
Aldso go to Settings Messages and Facetime and add her own email calling/messaging address and delete the Apple ID calling/messaging address.

  • I have just bought a mini ipad for my daughter set it up in my apple id so she could keep all her apps games etc, how do i set up a seperate account for her ipad and also keep my own id @

I have just bought a mini ipad for my daughter and used my apple id to set it up for her so she can keep all her apps and downloads of my ipad that she was using, i was wondering how do i give her, her own apple id so that she can keep all her apps and then i can two seperate accounts ?

You cannot transfer the purchases to another account. What she has purchased with your account will always be tied to your ID. That's the way that it works. You can have her create her own Apple ID to use with Cloud account, FaceTime and Messages.
But if you create a new ID for her, she will have to flip flop between the two Apple ID's in order to update apps, and if she wants to make purchases with her own ID, you also have to consider the fact that she may run the risk of locking herself out of her own ID by downloading a past purchase using your ID, after she starts buying with her own ID.

My daughter has shared my iTunes account for the past 10 years. Now that she has established her own iTunes account, how can she transfer content from my account to her new account?

    Hi Dennis,
If you want to share iTunes purchases between multiple accounts in the same family you could use Family Sharing.

    You do not.
Download the media on a computer and import it to iTunes.

  • How can I use Dropbox with pages for the iPad?

TO make a long story short, a thunderstorm fried my desktop iMac which was the computer I was sharing my Pages documents with.  I don't have an AirPrint compatible printer and I need to be able to print documents that I create in Pages.  Since it might be 6 months or more before we can replace the old computer, I would like to use DropBox to share files between my windows computers and the ones at where I volunteer.  I was told that Pages for the iPad was compatible so how can I make this work for me?

  • I'm a pc user, going to enroll in NTU Civil Engineering in SG, I was wondering, can i use an Ipad for my next 4 years? Will the Ipad run AutoCAD? My gf's going for USM pharmacy, can she use an ipad for her course? Both of us would use Office a lot.

Please kindly help me, this might be my first switch to Apple.

No, the iPad is an iOS device, running a lightweight operating system.  It does not run MacOS (which is what you want to run Microsoft Office and AutoCAD) like an iMac, Mac Pro, Mac Mini, MacBook, MacBook Air or MacBook Pro.
Please see the Autodesk System Requirements of AutoCAD for Mac.
I suggest you visit an Apple Store to get your hands on the products for yourselves. The staff is very knowledgeable and will help you find the right solution for your needs.
Edit: Color me surprised, a mobile version! I would check with the Engineering department and see if using the mobile version is suitable or not as it has a limited tool set. I would lean towards a laptop like the other poster above.

  • I have a self powered Sony Microphone, with a miniature output connector. How can I use it with my New IPad?

I have a self powered Sony Stereo mike, with a miniature output jack that  will fit into the iPad (new) audio jack. Is there a way to safely connect this microphone to my iPad?

Yes, you can continue to use iPhoto.  In fact, photo stream on your Mac is integrated with iPhoto.  However, you will need iPhoto '11, 9.2.2 or higher in order to use photo stream on your Mac.

  • I upgraded to a new macbook pro and gave my old macbook to my daughter, we have deauthorized all other computers it will not let us download itunes library with her id it say it already authorized to another apple id... help how do we fix this

i upgraded  to a macbook pro and gave my old macbook to my daughter, we tried to get her itunes library downloaded on it and it said that there was already an apple id assigned to that computer.
we went on the new one an de authorized all computers and then tried to re load her itune library on and it still isnt working. what are we doing wrong?
i called tech support and they are useless until you are willing to pay them 269 dollars to give you the information. ive spent a smal fortune buying apple products over the last 2 years, the least they could do is answer a simple question. Please help

It sounds to me like there are two separate processes being intertwined above:
    1.  Setting up your daughter's MacBook with identifying info; e.g., Apple ID for the user account on that machine.
    2.  Transferring the iTunes library (a very different operation).
Have you used Apple's Migration Assistant to move your daughter's information from her old machine to the MacBook?  That would have avoided this whole issue.
If not, either start the process over and use Migration Assistant, or try to more carefully and precisely define exactly what you did to accomplish this transition.  You said, for example, "there was already an Apple ID assigned to this computer."  That statement almost certainly did not originate with iTunes.

  • I recently upgrade to an iPAD Air. I gave my old iPAD (1st gen) to my wife.  I restored it to original factory conditions.  Now we cannot install iBook on it since it requires iOS 7.  What can we do with older iPADS that are still 100% functional.

Look at this similar problem in getting Netflix on an iPad 1. Same technique should work for you.

  • Gave my old iPad to my wife - how do I switch the Apple ID associated with that iPad from mine to my wife's?

I bought a new iPad and gave my old iPad to my wife. Every time she goes to buy an app or song it pops up with my Apple ID. We changed it to her Apple ID in the settings/iTunes & App Store. That made it so her ID came up when making purchases, but her iPad is still associated with my ID. For example, her iPad still shows up as one of my devices in the Find My iPhone app. Is there any way to change this other than resetting the iPad to factory, setting up under her ID and reinstalling everything?  Thanks in advance for your help.

    Take a look at this.

  • I am going to buy a new ipad and give the old ipad to my daughter - how do I...

I am going to buy a new ipad and give my old ipad to my daughter - how do I break the connection from the old ipad and my Apple account so she does not use my icloud and can buy her own apps, etc?

Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. This will not remove any third-party apps, just the settings. If you wish to restore to "as new," then:

A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (or if You Forget Your Passcode)
If you need to restore your device or if you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
         1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to update.
         2. Connect your device to your computer.
         3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
         4. Select the Summary tab.
         5. Select the Restore option.
         6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up
option (see in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not
             necessary to create another.
         7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
         8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
             logo while starting up:
You will be prompted to Restore as New or Restore from a Backup. Choose the first option.
