I get a 'dll initialization failure' dialog

On a maching with a DAQ ATMIO16E running LabView 6.1 I get a 'DLL initialization' failure dialog when I try to open a vi (any vi). Clicking OK clears it but it reappears within a second and LabView wont do anything else. I have just upgraded my OS from Win 98 to Win 2000, but removed and reinstalled LabView completely. On a machine without a DAQ I do *not* get the same problem under the same circumstances (having upgraded that one also).
I should say I had no problems under Win 98 and the card appears to be installed correctly (hardware wizard says its running OK).

Hello;
A valid test you can do is to uninstall the NI-DAQ driver and remove the DAQ device from the machine you are getting the error, and try to run the VIs are giving you the error now.
If the error is still there, the problem is probably on the installation of Labview (make sure you are logged on in an account with administrator privilegies before installing Labview).
If you don't see the error anymore, the problem is on the NI-DAQ installation (also make sure to be an administrator on that machine before installing the Software).
Hope this helps.

  • SQORA32 driver could not be loaded. System error 1114: A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed

I have an MS Access 2013 application that opens a connection to an Oracle database via an Oracle client.
On occasion the application returns the following error when the ODBC connection is opened:
Specified driver could not be loaded due to system error
1114: A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed. (Oracle in OraClient11g_home1, C:\oracle\product\11.2.0\client_1\SQORA32.DLL).
This is an intermittent problem that is reproducible on several workstations (all running Windows 7 x64 with 32-bit version of Office 2013 and 32-bit Oracle client 11.2.0).
Many times the ODBC connection is established without a problem
Other times the connection can be established by closing then re-opening the application once
Other times closing the re-opening the application several times does not help
The same application is being run on several workstations and not every user experience the problem at the same time. The problem may be chronic for one user whereas another user experiences no problem whatsoever.
All of the posts I have seen concerning this issue are for a persistent problem opening a connection and not an intermittent one. I am at a loss of how to diagnose this problem and would appreciate some direction.

    Hi Ross,
This error message is Microsoft Data Link Error, this error occurs on windows when attempting to start a service or load a system driver but the DLL you loaded or one of its dependencies returned FALSE. It typically point to a system DLL file which is located
in system32 and can be fixed by using the System File Checker tool. In your case, I suspect that it occurs due to a calling failure connecting to ODBC driver and it pointed to an error link C:\oracle\product\11.2.0\client_1\SQORA32.DLL which is hosted by oracle.
If they are analogous, a “repair” seems to be helpful, However since we are not expert about oracle program I‘d suggest you check if C:\app\Oracle\BIN\SQORA32.DLL file exists on your machine and contact with Oracle first, I think there you can get more effective
suggestion by other experts who familiar with design of Oracle database. Your understanding is highly appreciated.
By the way, I searched for you and seems like you are not alone about this issue.

  • Previous replies here that solved the "dll initialization routine failed" problem for others aren't working for me.

    Hello everyone,
I place the DLL, LVLIB and all the VI files from a VXIPnP LabVIEW instrument driver folder-tree under the "instr.lib" folder under the LabVIEW 8.2 installation folder, like I've always done before with no issues.
But because this particular Windows XP lab-PC has a strong level of file-system lock-down, only the administrator is able to drop driver-function icons from that driver VI set into a LV 8.2 block diagram without "dll initialization routine failed" pop-ups, which is what always happens for all "domain users" who log on this system.
If I go to another XP PC (my laptop) with the same LV8.2 and driver-folder configuration under instr.lib, there is no problem with attaching to this driver DLL at all when building VI's with those driver functions. That system allows "everyone" permission to all file and folder write operations, all the way down the NI folder tree (scary, I know, but the same IT guy set it up that way, perhaps because this is a laptop).
I see there are two other threads in this forum giving possible solutions to this by setting the permissions on the \Program files\National Instruments\ folder (only) to allow all domain users write-permission on that folder (even though no files are apparently written to that folder). But this isn't working for me, or perhaps I'm doing it wrong. My IT guy will not allow me to open up all the permissions under the NI installation folder for domain users or everyone (like the laptop has), so I don't know if this would solve it, or if certain branches of the NI folder tree are the specific ones that need this done to them instead of others.
Does anyone out there have a solution for this? Is there something specific in this NI folder-tree that has to have specific permissions opened up in order to make this work?
I am burning way too many hours trying to solve this...
(I wonder if this would get worse once Vista is prevalent)

No, just tried that, didn't fix it, thanks for the advice though. I though it might have been DEP (Data Execution Prevention) which was turned on for this machine. But it wasn't.
I did discover that some drivers do it, and some don't. It must have something to do with the way the DLL is linked into the LVLIB file.
Is there a white paper or a location in the help file that explains how the DLL shared libraries should ideally be arranged in the *.lib folders in order to work properly?

  • Fileopen Initialization Failure(2)

I receently updated both Acrobat 8 standard and Adobe Reader 9 up to their latest versions.  Whenever I open a PDF with either product I get the following message
Fileopen Initialization Failure(2) you will not be able to open protected documents.  I am an admin on my system.  Anyone have an idea what is going on?  I searched the forums and did not find anything related to this issues.  Everything worked fine before patching.  OS is windows XP SP3  - no microsoft silverlight installed ( I found silverlight could casue much weirdness with Acrobat)

Somehow a version of the fileopen api that was 5 years old was installed in reader directory and the acrobat standard dir.  All I did was path the programs and wham error started.  I went to the fileopen site and the promptly solved my issue.
    Here is their solution
If  you aren’t concerned about opening documents using the plug-in you can remove it  by finding and deleting all instances of fOpen32.api; as I mentioned, that  plug-in was discontinued a long time ago (and our installer only dispenses the  current one).
Good job Bernd point me in the right direction

  • UnsatisfiedLinkError:  A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine

I get this error only when building a native library with /MD on Win64.
    Envrionment
    Windows Server 2008 R2 (64 bit)
    JDK1.6 (32 bit)

    Microsoft (R) 32-bit C/C+ Optimizing Compiler Version 15.00.30729.01 for 80x86+
    If I compile with "cl /O1 /EHsc /LD /IC:\Apps\Dvlp\jdk1.6.0\include /IC:\Apps\Dvlp\jdk1.6.0\include\win32 ..." then System.loadLibrary(...) succeeds.
    If I compile with "cl */MD* /O1 /EHsc /LD /IC:\Apps\Dvlp\jdk1.6.0\include /IC:\Apps\Dvlp\jdk1.6.0\include\win32 ..." then System.loadLibrary(...) fails with "A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed."
After reading Microsoft's description of the /MD linker option I'm assuming this is a bitness issue but with my limited experience on Windows I'm afraid I'm stuck. Note, I must build with /MD, it's a requirement. Any suggestions on what to do next?

By the way, building with /MD is requirement imposed by 3rd party libraries I depend upon so removing it is not an option. An alternative still exists. Do not use JNI. Instead
    1. Wrap the target native code in an executable.
    2. Add a communication api.
    3. Test and debug as the executable.
    4. Run the executable via Runtime.exec/ProcessBuilder
    5. Execute the functionality via the communication api.
No JNI in the above. Also no possibility that the native code can crash your VM. Even if the exe crashes you can add restart code to deal with it.

  • SAPGUI DLL Initialization failed - check installation

    Hello.
We have Citrix Metaframe Servers that hold SAP GUI 620.
Lately we added new Citrix Servers and installed SAP GUI 620 on them.
    We use roaming profile.
We have encountered a mysterious problem:
Users that login to "New" Citrix Servers and have NTUSER.DAT (in their profile) that does not contain any SAP Keys and open SAP GUI 620 - Receive the following error:
" SAPGUI DLL Initialization failed - check installation "
The point is that it matters to the SAP on the "new" servers if the user have SAP key in the registry.
So in situations when a user logs in for the first time to a Citrix server that does not have SAP installed - he gets NTUSER.DAT that dows not hold SAP key. If he then tries to login to a new Citrix server and opens SAP GUI - he receives the error.
Has anyone ever encountered this matter? or even this Error ?
    Thx,
    Edward

First of all i appreciate the response and the solution.
The Flex Profile sounds very good , however, i'd rather solve the problem rather than bypass it or install new profile features.
I have new servers and old servers.
The SAP on the old servers doesn't care if a user has the SAP key in the NTUSER.DAT (HKCU).
Only the SAP on the new servers produce this error - and only if the user has NTUSER.DAT that doesn't have SAP key in it.
We compared the HKLM> SOFTWARE-> SAP between the old and new - they are identical.
    Any more ideas ?

  • Callable Object - Web Service: Initialization failure in GenericServiceFact

    Hello,
I am just trying to do the NetWeaver 7.0 exercise
    "Callable Objects: Web Service –
...In this exercise you will create a callable object as an external web service. A prerequisite to the exercise is that ... the web services container settings in the J2EE Visual Administrator must be set to allow access to the internet.

However, when setting up the Callable Object, after entering the WSDL-URL given in the pdf I get the error "<b>Initialization failure in GenericServiceFactory when trying to load  http://www.webservicex.net/WeatherForecast.asmx?WSDL</b> ".
Is it the missing activation of internet-access in the J2EE Web container? I can't find any such parameter in the J2EE-config tool (and where has the Visual Admin gone?).

  • NoClassDefFoundError:  SVGDOMImplementation (initialization failure)

I am trying to convert FO document to PCL using fop and getting

I am running code on Weblogic 9.2 and all the required libraries
    (fop.jar, batik-all.jar and xmlgraphics-commons-1.3.1.jar) are in
    class path.
I am using FOP version 0.95
This error does not comes when i run this as a stand-alone program.
And in Weblogic, it appears on a random basis not always.
I doubt that this error appears because weblogic also uses an implementation of batik API but do not have a proof.
Any help in this regard will be much appreciated.
    Thanks!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!!
I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
    2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.
    Good luck!

  • Collection Server Initialization Failure

One of my collection servers will not initialize. The WinXP box was
replaced by a VMWare virtual WinXP machine and the ZAM 7.5 software was
installed on the new machine using the same name as the old server. I
installed the Task Server, Collection Server and the Collection client.
All of the services start and there are no errors in the event logs. The
manager shows the Task Server as running but the Collection server as
stopped. When I start the Collection server I get the errors shown
below. This is one of many Collection/Task Servers that I have setup
including some that have been replaced by virtual machines as this one
has been. All other Collection/Task Servers are running without error.
I'm willing to remove it from ZAM and re-install and have tried that
once to no avail. Any help is appreciated.

    Ajay,
Either you have forgotten to execute tmloadcf on your UBBCONFIG file or the
value of the TUXCONFIG environment variable is set to something different
than the value specified in the UBBCONFIG file.
In tmboot, the TUXCONFIG environment variable is set to
D:\bea\tuxedo9.1\samples\jot\ToUpper\tuxconfig , and tmboot cannot open this
    file.
