I get a Runtime error when i try to search within the iTunes store

Please help! When in the iTunes store, I get a runtime error every time I try to use the search feature. I get a dialog box stating that Windows is searching for a solution, but then iTunes shuts down completely.

I have the same error, but I think we will get no solution for this problem.
You've get no answer here and the Apple support also doesn't send an answer how to solve the problem.
BTW I have also Windows 7 and the newest version of iTunes 64-bit.
Greetings Mike

  • I'm having some strange (& Inconsistent) errors when I try to connect to the iTunes store..

Hello there, so I was enjoying listening to music and using my various apps when suddenly I could no longer connect to the iTunes store. I went to update my apps and I was told itunes could not connect to the store 'Error 310'. I went to go online and post a question only to find my account had been suspended until I changed the password. I did so and no one managed to reply to my problem. Anyway, later that day suddenly it did connect, however when I tried to download updates I was given 'error 8003'.
So, I did as Apple support instructed, and deleted my downloads folder, and stopped my firewall, and stopped all other programmes so my computer was running on bare bones, even my speakers were had no software. However this made no difference, and I returned later that day to find that, instead of error 8003, I was stuck with error 310 again. I am a little confused...
Finally, I have checked and doubled checked and cannot find firewall or programme conflicts, and other wifi devices in my house seem to access the store succesfully.
I would like to update itunes but, is it possible to update it from the website without the total reinstall? Will all my music be safe? It could just be my current version has decided not to play ball anymore.
I'll be checking back here regularly, but thank you in advance. Also, to prewarn you, myself and computers do not always get on very well... I'm reasonably good at using them to be fair but since my first ICT lesson it's been known that computers don't seem to behave for me. So if you give me instructions please feel free to treat me like an idiot and spell them out.

Sorry I gave this a 'this helped me' but after a long struggle I found some ticked box somewhere from some unauthorised chrome extension blaaa....... the link you gave was great, not only did it confirm all the bad things google is supposed to be up to it provided a better browser. Cheers man.
Anyone who find this; I disabled all extension in chrome. I then searched the word proxy in the settings section. A button came up, "change proxy settings" I clicked on it. Earlier it was greyed out as an extension was interefering.. It brought up a box with my own settings from my computer. Then I clicked LAN settings, then unchecked the 'Use a proxy server' button.
P.S. If you're using chrome, bail, and dowload Komodo Dragon. It's virtually identical, but you're not tracked, and you can use chrome extensions, and you can quickily transfer your chrome preferences into it.

I get a runtime error when I try to open itunes, any help?

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

Are you getting it from this link (assuming Windows): http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/703/lang/en? The download link on that page seems to work just fine.

When I try to purchase from the itunes store, I will occasionally get a message that says "Your purchase could not be completed."
    Very annoying!

If you are getting a message to contact iTunes Support then you can do so via this link and ask them why the message is appearing (we are fellow users here on these forums, we won't know why) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

Could you post your diagnostics for us please?
In iTunes, go "Help > Run Diagnostics". Uncheck the boxes other than Network connectivity tests, as per the following screenshot:
    ... and click "Next".
When you get through to the final screen:
... click the "Copy to Clipboard" button and paste the diagnostics into a reply here.

  • TS1424 I have used itunes forever, now when I try to go to the itunes store, it says an error has occured error code 3212, how do I get back into the itunes store

I have used itunes forever, Sunday night when I tried to get into the itunes store an error popped up and said could not open; error code (-3212), How do I get back into the itunes store?

    Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.

  • When I try to search in the App store I get a "cannot connect to iTunes" error.

Everything else in the store works, i.e. top charts, updating apps, etc. It's not my internet because iTunes works on my phone via wifi and 3G. I have tried taking the iPad back to factory settings, resetting the iPad with an iCloud back up, tried using another network, tried setting the time a year ahead and reverting back, tried setting the DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and still wont work. Note: This is only when I try to search in iTunes.
Addition: iTunes wont let me search either. So App Store and iTunes wont let me search.

  • When i try to go to the itunes store, itunes will close down.  I have Windows 7 64 bit and I use chrome to access the internet.

I recently upgraded to windows 7 but had this problem in Windows XP as well.  If I try to go to iTunes from Chrome it seems to break my connection with iTunes and I can't get to the store anymore.  When I try to launch the iTunes store, my iTunes application closes down.  No error, it just shuts down.

I think that being signed into your apple.com account but with Safari first and foremost would be better as that would allow an Apple cookie to be set down onto an integral proprietary application (yes the Safari browser - go figure). Then (that is secondarily) you should sign into iTunes and have (more reliable) fun.
Google's motto was "Do No Evil" was it not? So do you honestly believe that their primary business interests and application performance jives with that of Apple? Sometimes yes, other times...no. Sorry, just sayin.
