I get a shrunk web page

When i open you tube page it opens with a shrunk size which one can hardly read. All other web pages open in a normal size.

If that works, a common way to end up in that position is to be holding the Ctrl key down when you scroll the mouse wheel.
If this nearly never happens to you, I wouldn't change how it works.
If you get annoyed by zoom changes on a regular basis, you can turn off this feature. Here's how:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste wheel and pause while the list is filtered.
(3) Double-click mousewheel.with_control.action and enter the desired value from the following list, then click OK.
0: Do nothing (ignore the wheel)
1: Scroll the page
2: Back to previous page or forward to next page in history
3: Zoom in or out
(For Mac, users, to change what happens with Command+ScrollWheel, double-click mousewheel.with_meta.action.)

Not sure exactly what you mean but while you are using Safari, just tap the X on the left side of the tab to close a it. Only the active tab shows the X. You have to tap on a tab to make it active or the foremost window.
If you want to clear the history - Settings>Safari>Clear History.

• I was referred to this site because Internet Explorer would not allow me to navigate to web page. Therefore the tech-support staff sugested I try your site to get to the web page

upon logging into this program open road x3 from the site realeflow.com. I get a msg "navigation to web page has been canceled" so I contacted the tech-support staff. They informed me that in the past this problem has occurred with internet explorer, so they referred your site to me, as a option to get into the web page from their site. I have never used your site to get into a web page before. So I do not exactly know how this works??????????

In Firefox 3.6.4 and later the default connection settings have been changed to "Use the system proxy settings".
See "Firefox connection settings" in [[Server not found]]
You can find the connection setting here: Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select No Proxy
Another possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that,.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox.

• I've loaded Firefox, I get led to everything other than how to use it. Why can't I just get a usable Web page?

I have uninstalled Firefox several times today. I attempted to reinstall and kept getting "update" pages that do not seem to lead to a Firefox browser. I've looked at the help pages and they lead to confusing but unhelpful sequences. I want to use Firefox to use bookmarks and to extend material that will be helpful to me as I pursue Web sites.
I'm not interested in complex and multilayered until I can get basic functions operating as I expect them to operate.
I started using Firefox 6 months ago and it worked fine. I liked it and it served me well. I recently updated to #37.0 and since then, I cannot get past the first page which instantly shifts to a page the give me options that are useless to me.

• Can't get to iCloud web page on iPhone, iPad

Set up iCloud and it's syncing and pushing everything as expected. Have no problem getting to the iCloud web page on my Mac (using Safari), but when I try to get to the web interface on an iPhone or iPad, I'm always just redirected to the iCloud "Hot to set up iCloud" page. I'm never able to reach the log-in page.
Are others able to sign in to the web iCloud page thru their iDevices?

Learned on another forum that that's the intended behavior. On iDevices you just use iCloud as a service, you don't interact with it.
Would be nice of Apple to make that clearer, rather than just sending all iDevices to page of instructions...

• All systems green, signal full stren but still can't get Email or Web pages

Airport Extreme Base station (Simultaneous Dual-Band v7.4.2)
Airport Express to extend my network (802.11n v7.4.2)
Up until recently everything was running very well but now I constantly get the situation where both the Express and the Extreme show constant green lights and the Macbook Pro shows airport on full strength to my own network BUT Mail and web won't connect. The session starts well enough but it just drops out. Suddenly web pages won't load or streaming music stops. Email also doesn't work.
To reconnect I
EITHER turn off Airport on my Macbook then turn it on and after a little time scanning...it all works again.
OR I run Diagnostics in the Preferences> Network. Select location Automatic>Airport>Choose my Network from the list> Says scanning... it works again.
It is soooo disruptive especially when I have to do it 15 times a day. I have not changed anything on my Macbook (that I am aware of!) I did run an Apple Software up-date just after Christmas though.
How can I make my connection more robust?
Thanks!

I am having the same problem. It was real bad today I would be able to get on for about 30 seconds and kick me off. I have internet before the Extreme so i know it has to be something with the extreme. I hope someone can chime in on our problems.

• How do I get to my web page without a place to put the address? Having to google it every time, with a new page is extremely annoying.

There is NO refresh button, NO go back button, NO forward button, NO place to type the address of the web page. Those are the only buttons I remember from the previous bar.

It sounds to me like the installation went pear-shaped somewhere along the line.
What I suggest you do is to do a new installation as follows:
Go to [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/?ref=logo Download Firefox 4.0] and download a fresh installation file to the desktop.
Then go to Add/Remove Programs, scroll down to Mozilla Firefox and remove it, choosing to keep your bookmarks, customizations etc., (''don't checkmark the box'').
Then reboot and delete the folder called Mozilla Firefox at this location: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
Finally run the installation file you downloaded.
After you complete the installation, go to the [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ Plugins Check] page and update those. In that respect, I notice that several of them are out of date which potentially exposes your system to attack.
P.S. ''Sorry it took so long to respond to your question''.

• Stupid question but how do I get my mac web page to extend the first page?

sorry about the ignorance... i'm sure it will be simple. but I want to have a long page rather than many seperate ones on my opening web page, and I don't seem to be able to extend one.... it just goes to the end of the first page and stops. and I want to be able to just navigate down for a 'longer page' if you see what I mean. is there a trick?

Hi,
The length of the page adjusts itself to the length of the main textbox on that page. Thus while you write the page the length will adjust itself.
However it's not recommended to make such a long page due to loading times especially if there is a big amount of graphics.

• Help! Cant get to any web pages on safari!

I have an emac running OSX 10.2.8 I have never had any troubles with my emac untl recently. I turned it on one day and all my settings were gone, and I couldnt connect to the internet. I have dsl so I called them and we went through everything and the modem is communicating with the computer fine, but safari, and internet explorer will not let me get onto any websites at all. I called apple and they told me to go to my keychain, pull it out onto the desktop, and it should work fine. Well I cant go to anywebsites, except for nfl.com, and that only lets me look at a page that is 2 months old, something i must have looked at before everything went haywire. Please help!

The month-old websites are obviously cached on your hard drive. Try using your browser's preferences to clear its cache.
Go to System Preferences> Accounts and create a new account, giving it some name that indicates it's for troubleshooting only. Make it an administrative account. The log out, and log on to the newly created account. Open Safari and see if you can connect to any sites, either using a numerical IP address as in iFelix's tip, then by trying a website name (e.g., http://discussions.apple.com/).
Did your ISP tell you to enter explicit IP numbers in the Network> TCP/IP tab's DNS field? You mention having been over your DSL modem settings repeatedly with your ISP, but one thing I've found ISP tech supports forgets to mention with surprising frequency is resetting the modem by pulling it's power supply cord for around 5 minutes, then re-powering the modem and restarting the computer.
Another thing to explicitly ask your ISP: have they recently upgraded their servers, by any chance? If they have, it's entirely possible that your present modem needs to be replaced --- that's what finally turned out to explain why my home cable modem account was bedeviled by similar DNS loss issues (the ISP had switched from DOCIS 1.0 to DOCIS 2.0, neglecting to mention it to their users).
What if anything is shown in System Preferences> Network under the Proxies tab?
