I get an error message when I try to browse to open a photo

I have PS CS3 extended , i have 2 problems with it one old and one new. the old one is that i can't open .png files (i inserted the new 8bi files for it, but it didn't worK), the other one is that after i installed norton 360 whenever i click open and tery to browse to any pic to open it i get this error message
The specified module could not be found
c:\program files\norton 360\Engine\3.0.0.135\buComm.dll->BuEng.dll
I looked in the norton files and both these dlls are present in the relevant folder.
Any help will be much appreciated

I don't have CS3 installed anymore, but I believe that PNG is a format that is natively supported. You don't need to install anything additional, and doing so could actually cause a problem. So, the question is, what actually happens when you try to open PNGs? Do you get an error? And I assume you tried opening by doing File > Open in Photoshop?
regarding Norton, remove it, and then restart the computer. if the problem is still happening, then remove and re-install Photoshop. Once it's all squared away, you can re-install your Norton.
(I do, however, recommend using different security software; Symantec software is notoriously invasive. Avast is a good one, and I've also heard good things about NOD32 and AVG.)
