I get "can't get email-fail to connect to server" msg constantly when I am connected and getting mail . Have to click ok.
I just started getting two messages on my IPad and IPhone I can't get rid if .
1. " can't get email - connection to server failed " when I am connected and getting email . Have to click ok .
2. " pass word required " when it is not, have to cancel this constantly .

this problem could probably be caused by a Firefox extension.
To make sure that no extension is causing the problems,
start Firefox in Safe Mode by following the instructions in the [[Safe Mode]] article.

I just upgraded to Mavericks and can't get my opening page to stay on GOOGLE. IT keeps opening in SITES and then I have to click on GOOGLE to begin searching. I would rather not hav to go through 2 steps to start everytime. I entered google's address in preferences but it ignores my preference.
You don't say which browser you are using so I will assume it's Safari. If so then open Safari - Preferences - General tab and look for where you set the home page, just set it to www.Google.com
If this fails for some reason then open Safari and reset it (look in the Safari menu) and choose all options for the reset. The re-try setting the preference. Post back with your results. -

Just upgraded to Lion an am discovering that I cannot send email photos from within iPhoto. Error message says bad Internet connection or server not working, when that's not the case. Never happened in Snow Leopard! Help!!!
what email service - Yahoo mail have been acting up lately
you can try setting Mail as your email client - it resolves this pfoblem for some people

I installed OS X Mountain Lion on my desktop MAC and since then I cannot print pdf documents---I get messages like "plug in failed" or sometimes "no pages selected on printer" when clearly pages are selected
DO NOT USE PREVIEW TO FILL OUT PDF FORMS, IT WILL DESTROY PDF FILES. Sorry, but I had to shout here to prevent damage to your PDF files.
Here is one of the symptoms when you fill out a PDF form with Preview: If you save it and return it to the author, they will not be able to see the text that you've added to form fields - unless they click on a field, which will reveal the contents of just that field. You can recover from this problem, but Preview will also remove other field types, and will actually rewrite your complete PDF while ignoring what it does not understand. i get too many ASC emails ... tried Frank Caggiano's solution ... even have all my email preferences set to NO .... but problem still unsolved....any suggestion? by the way, how do i unlist myself from ASC?
You cannot unlist yourself from the ASC. Only a host can do that and there has to be a very good reason for doing so, like a privacy concern or issue, something like that. If you do not want to participate in the community, just quit posting.
Did you also check the box at the top of the post that you participated in and check Stop Email Notifications? It is in the Actions Box in the upper right corner of each page on the website. You have to go back to the post that you were in and select that as well.

My daughter and granddaughter have the same model iPhone. I can go messages and text my granddaughters phone from my ipad2, but when I try to text my daughter I get the message that she is not registered with I message, but she is registered and gets texts all the time. What do we need to do?

What blue bubble are you trying to turn on? If you mean that the Send button will not work, go to Settings>Messages>Show Subject Field>Off. Make sure that is set to off.
If you send an iMessage, the texts between the devices appear in a blue bubble.
iMessages only work between iOS devices and they are different than the standard text messages that any cell phone can send to another cell phone. -
Can't connect to Yahoo! calendar.
When trying to connect Mail, Contacts, Messages and Notes connect but Calendar and Reminders don't connect.
I get error A secure connection couldn’t be established.
I think a lot of people are getting this. Some solutions with Gmail but v little with Yahoo!
Any answers?

I have just found out what's wrong. I went to the 'more info' section of my Chitchat application and it took me to a link where it explained that Yahoo Chat has ditched chatting with the Java protocol and chatters can now only chat via the Yahoo Messenger protocol, which is Yahoo Instant Messenger with Voice. Unfortunately Yahoo doesn't provide a platform for Yahoo Voice for Macintosh computers. Though the original link I went to provides another link to a thing called 'Adium' from which a Mac can access Yahoo Chat's new protocol, although it's not fully developed yet.
Oh...and thanks so much for letting me know about the Java update release. I did not know that I have to upgrade my system first to recieve the latest update information.

On iPad when selecting mail getting multiple boxes saying "Cannot Get Mail" cannot connect to server. However, mail appears to be working fine ? Ca not figure why this is happening ?

You are on your computer and not your iPad ?
On windows with iTunes 11 on it then control-S gets the left-hand sidebar to show, and on a Mac option-command-S does similar. Then select the iTunes Store on that sidebar, click App Store at the top of the store home page, and find a free app, click on its free price, and then click 'create Apple id' on the popup -
Right now I'm staying connected but when I tried it at 2:00 Firefox would not stay connected. It would keep saying not responding. Also sometimes if I would go to fast it would just jam up. I could be connected and then go to my email and it would say lost connection. It just kept changing as though I was getting more that one connection. Hopefully you can help me.
Basically it means firefox didnt Shut down properly and if you close firefox and you try to open it again and you get the message firefox is already running then in windows right click on the taskbar and press on task manager and then once task manager is open press on processes and look for firefox.exe and then where it says End process click that and it will close firefox properly ok and then you can open firefox up again properly ok and for mac its a differnat way ok
