I get emails from apple id but for a different name

I got an email from Apple ID to reset my Apple ID security questions and answers but it was addressed to a different name. I changed my password just in case but my account seems fine. Could someone have accidentally set up an account with my email address instead of theirs and how do I get my email address removed from their account?

Your Apple ID must be an email address to use it for and iClouid account.  If it isn't in the form of an email address you can change it so is by following this guide: http://support.apple.com/kb/HE40.  The ID must also have an active email address associated with it.  If it doesn't, first go to appleid.apple.com and add one before trying to use the ID for iCloud.

  • Why am I getting Emails from Apple in turkish to an Email-address that isn't used for my Apple ID anymore ?

Hi everybody, I already apologize if this isn't the right community for my problem. This whole thing is very confusing  so I really hope someone can help me
I used Gmail as my official email account and it was also the Email address for my Apple-ID (for many, many years..)
Strangely, a few months ago, I got an Email from Apple saying that my Apple-ID was being used for Imessage and Facetime on other devices (in Turkey?). I googled it and found out that it might be a fishing mail so I quickly changed my password and also the Email-adress for my Apple.ID – which means that the Gmail-account was not longer in use for Apple anymore.
But here's the problem :  I still get Emails from Apple (in Turkish) from time to time to my Gmail- account. They don't seem to be fishing Emails, though.  Another odd thing about that is, that the mails I receive at Gmail don't seem to be addressed to my CORRECT email-address.
While my adress looks like „[email protected]“ the Itunes mails I receive are addressed to '[email protected]“ .  I hope you know what I mean. There is no point between the names in my real address.
What could this be and how can I solve this problem ? It's really freaking me out.
    Thanks,
    D.

    Hi D.,
Unfortunately phishing is far too common these days. The articles below will help you determine the authenticity of the emails that you received.

Do you have one, two or more entries in the left colum of Mail.app for your mail server(s)?  That is, do you have your Mail.app set up with either a btinternet entry, with a btyahoo entry, or both?  Or more?
I'm guessing that you might have one account (btyahoo?) listed for incoming (IMAP server) mail, and with the outbound (SMTP server) mail is configured and named btinternet.
Based on what little I see posted, it looks like BT uses both btinternet and btyahoo, but I'm not exactly clear on how they have their stuff set up, and their web set gets helpful and tries to help configure my mail — I don't immediately see a single web page with the mail server set-up details.  The BT email client set-up starts here.

  • A website I frequently visit will no longer come up. Safaris says that my connection has been lost but it hasn't. I even get emails from the website but I still can't get on it. Why would it all of a sudden do this?

The reason, I included the annotation that I'd upgraded my Itunes, (On my Computer) is B/C in many forums - the very first question, *HELPERS* ask, is. "Do you have the latest version of Itunes downloaded on your computer." I wanted to knock out any obvious replies.
Now-  "DO YOU have any idea,"... how your UNHELPFUL remarks, do absolutely nothing but hurt others that might not have the EXPERIENCE you have? How do you expect people to know things without asking questions? Whew! RUDE!!

  • I keep getting emails from Apple support about changing my password.

I keep getting emails from apple saying someone is trying to reset my password when I have not done such a thing. A couple days ago after the 4th email I decided to reset it myself just incase. Now im still getting a email from apple stating that someone is trying to reset it.

Apple do send out an email if you change your password that is genuine
You could change the password to see if the emails are genuine or phishing by getting a genuine email from Apple
No way otherwise if you cannot tell if they are genuine or otherwise

  • I get email from a friend and it shows my name instead of hers as the sender. how can i fix?

I get emails from a friend of mine and when i receive them they show my name instead of hers as the sender. I will often miss them because I often copy myself on important emails. In my address book, her email is correct.
    How can I fix this?

Does your mail account allow you to view the same message in a browser (webmail interface) to see whether this is a problem local to Thunderbird or actually exists in the message on the server?

  • I keep getting email from Apple telling me that my account has been suspended. It looks genuine but I am having my doubts.

i forgot my security questions and when i try to reset them witch send an email to my Rescue email account , i open my rescue email account i with no apple emails plz help

Unless the email is in a spam filter, you need to ask Apple to reset your security questions. To do this, click here and pick a method; if that page doesn't list one for your country or you're unable to call, fill out and submit this form.

  • Is it unusual to not receive a confirmation email from Apple when applying for a retail position?

I wasn't sure where to post this question and I was just wondering.
    Regards

    Sorry, MoeMakhlouf,
I don't think this is the place for that question.   No-one here has the authority to answer on Apple's behalf.
As an observation though, how can you be sure Apple received your application?

  • How to get servername from a request but not the cluster name?

    hi all,
how do i get server name from the request? This is the scenario, When ever a request is made, its handed to a cluster and then directed to one of the server in the cluster.
When i say request.getServerName();---- This is giving me the cluster name and not the server name.
any suggestions/idea ? Thanks alot in advance.

    You could try this:
Create a batch or shell script that executes ifconfig or ipconfig and writes the IP address out to a file.
Place each shell script file at different locations on each server within the cluster.
Then within the code, try to execute each script from an external process (Runtime.exec). Since the files are at different locations within each server only the correct shell script for each server should execute and write the IP Address to a file. You'll have to detect which one ran. Then open the file that was written, possible parse it for the IP Address and use the code that I already provided.
This is a time consuming process that will slow your application. Additionally depending on how your cluster is set up it might not work and still return the cluster's IP address.I got the solution....java.net.InetAddress.getLocalHost().getHostName(); works fine...But thanks guyz for ur responses
