I tried this before and was just re directed here. I've been using Elements for several years with no problem. A registered legal copy. I had to get a new computer due to a storm and now when I try to re-install Elements, I get a message that the serial number is not valid. Any suggestions. I did try live chat and he sent me here.
New computer is running Win XP Pro, same as the older one, but has a new motherboard and cpu. New AMD 64 bit quad 4 with lots of memory and hd space.

The problem is that the authentication servers for CS2/PSE 4 were shut down a couple of years ago. It's not anything you're doing. For a while adobe offered a download of a special version with a serial number that didn't need authentication, but that isn't available anymore.
I think your best bet would be to post here:

and ask if adobe can do anything for you.

I need help with installing CS6 to a new computer. I have owned PS since CS and have upgraded through all of the versions. Do I have to download the old versions too now? if that's correct, you do not need any previous versions installed and you should not be prompted for any previous version's serial number.

Receiving message that serial number is invalid

My computer crashed and I'm trying to reinstall CS6 Creative Suite Master collection on a new computer and when I type in the serial number I'm receiving a message that the serial number is invalid. Could this error be because it is still authorized for the old computer?

After I exit Firefox, I keep getting messages that Firefox is still running and I have restart my computer. How can I avoid this from happening?

Apple Safari updates are linked the OS X system upgrades, only. The most recent version of Safari for OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard isn't recent enough.
Instead of, or in addition to, try Mozilla FireFox web browser, instead.
Mozilla FireFox web browser is a stand alone, Mac-friendly web browser that gets continual updates without having to upgrade/update your entire OS X system.
The current, up-to-date version of FireFox is fully compatible with OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.

I have it installed now on just one computer only. It was installed also on a computer and a laptop. The laptop crashed and couldn't restart anymore. I had to through it away. After that I installed on another computer at a place where I work sometimes with photoshop. Then suddenly I got message at my computer home that the serialnumber is invalid. I installed for the time an try out version, and now I have deleted the version that I had on the computer but when i want to reinstall my legal bought version with the serial number that i mention there, I get again the message that my serial number is invalid. But now it is only installed on 1 other computer. If I check the sites, I have to contact Adobe but I don't know how. The link does not work and I cannot find any phonenumber.!!

If it was an upgrade version, it may be you are being asked for the qualifying product S/N and are entering the new S/N instead. That would cause a problem.

Try logging in without the "1" in front of the 10 digit number, if you are already not using the 1, put it in front of the fax number. If that does not work, try turning ePrint off, then back on from under the web services menu. That menu is located under the set up Icon on the front panel that looks like a wrench. Then after that touch the webservices icon ( the one that looks like a piece of paper with a target behind it) and then reprint the info/report page from webservices and then try to login again.
