Just tried to watch an instructional video on You-Tube and got only a black screen with no play button. After checking all the help files and forums there, I discovered it worked with 32-bit mode. When I switch back to 64-bit, the problem returns.
Have others discovered the same thing? Is there an alternative solution? I need 64-bit for a couple of plug-ins.

I know it works - it was you said the reason is it isn't supported - but it is.
The plugin seemingly still works in 64 bit safari, just not on those main youtube pages that use javascript to write the object/embed code; it also reportedly works even in 64 bit if you alter the user agent... so it seems likely to be a youtube error in browser detection leading to no object/embed being written - which would cause exactly the black non-functioning area that many have described, just as disabling javascript does...
Right or ctrl-click where the flash video should be - what does it show?
if there's an 'inspect element' there - they haven't written the Flash object/embed code to the page.

I recently viewed an email and received some sort of virus. Only in the email address where I view in infected email and only when using Firefox do I have a problem. When using the email address I can no longer send emails, reply to emails or forward emails. I can no longer view You Tubes when using FirefoxI. I can send emails, reply, and forward emails and view You Tubes when using internet explorer. I do not have this problem when using another computer. I only have the problem described when using Firefox with the computer which was infected. I prefer Firefox so can you please guide me in a direction to address the problem.

thx for your response. are saying websites such as hotmail and yahoo mail detect that they are being accessed via firefox and turn off the JavaScript that makes hot links? really? additionally, i have friends with firefox in which hyperlinks stay active when they are copied and pasted.
was the "Make Link" add-on you posted supposed to fix the problem? i downloaded it, but i don't know where the "context menu" is that is supposed to help me. how to i view this context window now that i have downloaded the add-on?

You tube upload sound ok, picture pixlated

Have 10.1.2 FCP running OSX 10.9.4 16 GB 1333Mhz DDR3 Graphics AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2048 MB
It's bad enough when you tube doesn't let you load direct from FCP Bumping out at sometimes 98%, now go all the way to find that audio all there but after 3 uploads of the same project approx 6 GB,1.2 hours HD which takes each time on my ADSL2 approx 30hours to find the pictures scrambled, twice around the same spot the third time 45minuts apart.
Have loaded a small portion 1minute from faulty picture section with no drama.Compressor is no luck find it worse than FCP - you tube direct.
Any idea's?

Sending direct from FCP to youtube is 6.5Gb to first make Master file thats 75.6 Gb. As a side note have just successful sent uploaded another game 1.18.45 hr , 34 seconds longer than the other one that is scrambled.This went through first time are currently trying 4 th time with my problem movie. I have Compressor 10.4 but to make Master then send to compressor and wait for it to fail is depressing given up using that, its fine for short clips no good for large HD, well that my experience. Want to use as i don't work on FCP when uploading to you tube and cut down my work flow and have back log of games to edit and finish.

Your phone might be on Zoom somehow, try just the simple "gestures" fix
Double tap with 3 fingers on the screen, then drag down. That should at least zoom out. If that does not work, try scrolling through the screen, but using 3 fingers instead of 1.
From there you should be able to access Settings>General>Accessibility>Zoom>OFF

You may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

I switched modems to a cisco for high speed broadband now my homesharing will not show my computer so I cannot stream my movie collection. WI/Fi works as I can get apple TV and you tube. Of course my ISP is no help, any ideas.

Recently, I am unable to play You tube videos. Why?

My MacBook Pro is only a few months old. I am still new to the system, and much of it greatly perplexes me. My job is largely dependent on You Tube, and I am really upset that my computer has somehow locked me out! All of a sudden, from one day to the next, I became unable to view You Tube videos. All I get is a black screen where the video should be, and there is no button to click to view the video. I cannot figure out what went wrong! I recently did a recommended software update, and joined MobileMe, but other than that, I haven't changed anything. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

What could cause lack of sound on You Tube but not on other sites? Computer working ok. Could it be a plug-in issue? If so, any idea which plug-in?

I can't get the PPS sent to me, only sound if anything, no pictures..what can I do to fix that?

When I am sent an attachment....usually PPS, the sound if anything comes up otherwise it a notice pops up saying it can't open up the file , it may not be support by installed converters or it might be corrupt...can't remember the exact wording. A friend suggested that I go to TOOLS and security, that the setting might be set too high but when I got to that it doesn't give me an option to change the security level. I use to be able to get everything but my computer was worked on and the person changed a lot of things. I don't know enough on how to look into this without some help.

I added titles to my iMovie project and when I preview it they show up. But when I Share--I tried downloading onto desktop and also uploading to You Tube, only the video part shows.

I haven't used iMovie in a long time and it's a newer version than I used in the past, so maybe I'm just missing something. I uploaded 2 clips and put both into the project section.
I put in a title at the beginning that I wanted to fade and I added additional titles in a different position to indicate certain things happening in the video. The first title bar appears as a big purple bar below the first clip. The additional ones appear as little purple bars above it. Eventually I wanted to take the big one out but when I deleted it, the video part also disappeared so I kept it but just took out the text.
Then when I dragged the second clip into the work area, it popped into the same line as the big purple bar. I just kept adding little title bars along that and that seemed ok.
When I previewed it all in the upper right box, it seemed to do exactly what I wanted to do. But then when I Shared it, only the second (larger) clip appeared and no titles appeared anywhere.
I'm sure I just put somethings in the wrong place and obviously I don't know all the correct language for projects, events, etc. Have I made any obvious mistakes that are easy (I hope) to fix?

Thanks victoryhat. I learned some new things from this very clear tutorial. But it didn't answer my question about why the titles don't stay with the video when I export it.
He did mention something that might be a clue however. When he talked about importing a title he created as an image, he noted that he was careful to make the image the same size as the video he was adding it to: 1280 x 720. Since I took the video with an iPhone in the vertical position, my video image isn't the same size and orientation as the titles.
Maybe there is a way I should be setting the screen for this size??? I'll go back and play around. Meanwhile thanks for alerting me to Gary Rosenzweig's MacMost tutorials. Very clear. I'll look for more.

My mac is getting slow, expecially surfing you tube

I have a mac book pro (mid 2009) and since few months it is getting slower and slower surfing internet,youtube and, generally speaking, all the software.
What I can do? Maybe a virus or a malware or stuff like that?

once that's done, verify disk permissions. repair if needed.
once repair is done, restart your macbook and see if that sorts out your issues.

I can't get text pictures from my wifes Samsung Phone, Why ?

Three of my family members have Samsung phones and I have been unable to received or send text Photos's from any of them. Texting is fine but photo's will not send or receive. Any solution ?

You would have received a prompt telling you that you didn't have sufficient space to beck up your phone if that was the case. Also, not everything on your phone is stored in the backup so you wouldn't need 11.7GB to back it up. You can see the size of your backup by going to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the name of your phone under Backups and look under Options.
If it says "downloading" it's probably still downloading your pictures from iCoud. Check Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup at the bottom to see the status of the restore process.
