I get recent contact lists from another device. I have two iPhones on my account and this is the first time I have ever shared recent contacts from separate contact lists.

Please elaborate.

   My new iPhone 4 is on the way from Verizon, and I too am moving on from the LG Versa (a poor man's iPhone) so I've researched this. I trust you have been using the backup assistant on the LG phone to backup your contacts? If so, and you investigate the app store you will see an app for doing the same task on you new iPhone. Initially it will take you LG contacts you have backed up at Verizon to their new home on the iPhone.
According to user comments there appear to be a couple of issues with the app you need to be aware of:
   1. It will not automatically backup your iPhone, you will need to initiate updates in the future on your own. and
   2. You will see in the comments, that there have been some issues with length of backup when you add lots of contact photos to your list.
   This coupled with the address book sync from your computer should make your list whole, in fact the move to the iPhone will allow me to consolidate my address book with my cell phone contacts. Then once I remove the duplicates all will be right with the world.

One way is via iCloud. Settings > iClouds > Contacts on for both.

because it went through the washing machine. ( I know!)
the screen doesn't work, but when I plug it into the USB port, the laptop recognizes it, and the call key doesn't work properly to call out, or obviously, anything else.
is there any way to get the contacts from the phone into the verizon backup assistant, or is there any other way? like taking it to the store?

you want to directly communicate with the Outlook program?? or do you want a program that can read the Outlook data? These are two very different problems, the first being relatively difficult, the second being easier.

HT1848 I downloaded a book on itunes on one computer and it is not listed on a seconded computer. Same account. I have tried updating purchases and transferring recent purchases, transferring purchases from another devices. Still does not appear.

If it's an audiobook then you will need to copy it over from the first computer to the second computer - audiobooks are currently one-time only downloads, so they won't appear under the Purchased link for re-downloading. If you copied it onto a device from the first computer then you should be able to copy it off that device to the second computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases. If it's not on a device and both computers are on the same wifi network then you should be able to copy it over via home sharing (there are instructions on this page), or you can copy it to, for example, a flash drive (you can find it's location on the first computer by control-clicking it in your iTunes library and selecting 'Show In Finder') and then add it to the second computer's iTunes (File > Add To Library).
If it's an ibook then you should be able to re-download it from the store : re-downloading.

Depending on your carrier, you may be able to see recent calls by logging into your account on the carrier's web site, if they offer such a feature, though incoming calls being shown is not usual. There will, as diesel said, be no way to see messages already received, either SMS/MMS or iMessages, without having the phone.

Transfer Contact list from one Curve to another

Is there an official way to transfer the Contact List from one Curve 8520 to another?
I tried Backup from the source and then restored it to the target Curve 8520. The target Curve does not seem to be able to see it?
Any ideas?

I saved a corrected, most up to date version of my master Address Book Contacts as a back-up on my Mac Book Pro.
then in an effort to "simplify my life" i attempted to sync my I phone contacts - ( pre clean-up version) with my clean list on Mac Book Pro, New I pad and newly available icloud. DUH!! Using iTunes to do the sync caused the clean MacBOOK Pro list to be commingled with the dirty iphone contacts. amd now the whole mess is in the cloud.
I need to clear out the contaminated lists from all iplaces, and startover with Back-up on my macbook pro. BUT HOW???

I had exported an address book backup: abbu
so since i wrote, i have found my way into the cloud: selected all entries - deleted them all from the cloud.
This wiped out contacts on my iphone and i pad, and MBP, as well as on the cloud. I then imported the abbu back into my now empty address book.
To repopulate the crowd, i selected all in my address book and created a single card vCard for export to my desktop. I then dragged that vcard into my empty cloud. Now my cloud has the same clean contacts as my MBP addressbook. The cloud then pushed the clean contacts into my empty ipad and iphone contacts.
I had to go back to Address Book>preferences>Accounts and Add an I cloud account - but if you accidentally create a second i cloud account - all of a sudden your address book will duplicate itself. I quickly reversed it by deleting one of the icloud accounts in my Address Book>preferences>Accounts.
I created a new entry on my MBP and it is now on all devices and in cloud
I also created a new entry on my iPhone and it is now in the address book on my MBP.
I feel empowered!!

And your destination user uses a mac?
Click on the group name.
Go to the menu File > Export VCard . . .
Save that file and send it.
The recipient should go to File > Import to import your list.

"Recent contacts" list showing old contacts

I see a lot of questions about removing contacts from the new "recent contacts" list, and a lot of solutions saying to hide the list altogether. however, there is only one contact I want to remove from the list because they are not recent. I found one solution stating that you remove them, search for their phone number in messages, click the i and then click "remove from recent contacts" but this does not work because all messages, email, phone calls, and facetime from this contact was so old that it has already been purged (thus I don't get the i when I enter the phone number). This is a business contact, so I need to keep her number, but there are a lot more recent contacts from the past 3 months that I would rather have on my recent contacts list because they are recent. Is it a software glitch that she is still showing up on my recent contacts list? Is there any way to remove this contact specifically without hiding the list altogether?

It is standard that the personal list is not updated.
it is personal, you have to update it yourself.
