I get start page but when I type in the search or another web address it doesn't do anything.

I tried to reinstall, clear cache, extension, plug ins. But nothing works. Here's what I got

Thanks for replying again. I've got a little bit further thanks to you. I tried the US keyboard layout as you seemed pretty definte that it should work. This time I applied the setting and also started the language toolbar and selected it from there.
Hey presto, I've got the @ where it should be. Excellent.
However the single quote ' works in a weird way. When I press it, it doesn't show up on the screen. But when I press another key, I get the single quote plus the next key I press. When I press the single quote twice, I get 2 of them. This is also the same with the SHIFT ' key. i.e. for the double quotes.
Very strange. I'll look at other keyboards and see where that gets me.

To clarify - I have purchased a physical copy of a movie which came with another physical copy which contains the digital copy. The digital copy is on the DVD, all I need is just to transfer this file to my iPod Touch, for example, I'm not trying to download it from the store or repurchase it and it's not any gift code that I've received, the digital copy is on the disc. This is the first time ever that I've purchased something on a disc and I'm not allowed to access it because the disc hasn't been purchased within my country.
So again - I'm not attempting any purchase or download any purchased digital copy - it's on a DVD I own physically so... why is even the region of my Store relevant, the code I enter is (as I assume) just supposed to check if it's a legal genuine copy (which it is, as I've said - there are 6 discs in the pack: 3 movies on 3 Blu-rays and 3 DVD containing these digital copies of them). If I own it, I think that's proof enough that I have the right to use it. I just don't get it. How does one delete the search history that comes up when I type in the search box?

When I type in the search box it reveals my past search , how do I delete or stop same.
I have deleted my browser history but this still shows.

You can right-click the text area in the search bar to "Clear Search History"
You can also disable: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: [ ] "Remember search and form history"

When i type into the search bar on safari, it comes up with a yahoo or bing search instead of google like it normally would do

I've had my macbook pro for about 2 years and any time i would type into the search bar of safari it would always come up with a google search. recently it is coming up with a yahoo or bing search and not google. my settings for safari have it set to google as the default search engine so I'm not sure why this is happening. When you go to search something in your search bar , and you click in the search bar at the top , a drop down menu should appear when it gives you suggestions on smart search right ? , well within those list of suggestions in the search bar their should be a little magnifying glass icon in the corner , click on that and another drop down box will appear, then you can choose your search engine preference e.g. bing , google , yahoo etc. click on your preference and it will use that search engine when you search in your search bar. I can get thumbnail photos but when I tap them the screen goes blank

The google suggestions when I type in the search box are not clickable anymore since I installed Firefox 4. Why could that be?

It used to be when I typed in the Google search field at the top of the screen, a list of suggestions would appear. When the suggestion matched my search I would stop typing and click on it. Then the search would start. After installing Firefox 4 the suggestions still show up but nothing happens when I click on them. I have to complete entering it and then click on the search button. Any ideas?

Maps for iPad quits when I type in the search line

I can't search in Maps for iPad since it quits every time I try to type something into the search line. I tried restarting the iPad and even restored it from iTunes. Still can't search without it shutting down. I'm at a loss for a solution.

Exactly the same here. Tried almost everything I can think of. Honestly, this is bordering on the completely unacceptable, as if you can't ever enter certain letters, there's no way to search on maps, or anywhere else on the iPad, and this is one of the main reasons I bought it - for travelling in foreign cities.
Perhaps coincidentally, a lot of apps just seem to crash like maps do, but only on the iPad, not the same apps on my iPhone.

I was convinced with you ans. And i tried by enabling the Local LAN option in VPN.
But all vain... Its working off the VPN but not on.
And I did something: installed old 10g XE and guess what! its working perfectly fine. I don't even need to change the port.
For the time being work is being done. but i'd love to know the reason n case with 11g.
