    I tried to download a pictures at a number of sites, but I never succeed.
    I installed some suggested add-ons to help the download proces: 'downthemall' and 'downloadhelper' but they didn't help.     I've deleted all old updates as instructed and running the most recent version.

    If you're having this issue open Firefox, go to Tools on the Firefox tabs at the top of your browser window, and click on Add-ons. This will take you to your Add-ons page. Click on Extensions on the right side of the screen and scroll down to the Skype extension add-on. Click on "Disable" to disable this extension. Once this extension is disabled your problem should be fixed. In my case it repaired the problem.
