  • I get an error message before firefox opens. it is : TypeError : componentsclasses[TvtpwmComponent_CID]is undefined

''Duplicate post, continue here - [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/787560]''
Everytime I open Firefox - I get the error message above. I hit ok and then firefox opens.
Why am i getting this message?
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and still get the message.

That points to a problem with an extension that may not be compatible with Firefox 4 beta, possibly the Lenovo password manager.
If you have the Lenovo password manager try disabling it. Click the Firefox button, then select Add-ons. In the list of Extensions click on the password manager to select it, then click the Disable button. Re-start Firefox to see if that solves the problem. If you do not have the Lenovo password manager, repeat the above process with the other extensions to identify what one is causing this. • A script on this page may have stopped responding errorcript: chrome://browser/content/sanitize.js:133

Get this error when attempting to clear cache and cookies - why?

This can be caused by clearing the cookies via [[Clear Recent History]].<br />
You can try to exclude the cookies to see if that helps.
You can let all cookies expire when you close Firefox to remove unwanted cookies and keep the ones with an allow exception.
    * Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Keep until": "I close Firefox"
If you use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the cookies when you close Firefox then Firefox also tries to clear the cookies from plugins like Flash and starts a plugin-container process with the Flash player and possibly other plugins as well for each cookie, so that can add extra time if there are a lot of cookies to remove.

  • I'm getting an error message from Firefox that says, "Something is trying to trick Firefox into accepting an insecure update. Please contact your network provider and seek help."

I'm getting an error message from Firefox that says, "Something is trying to trick Firefox into accepting an insecure update. Please contact your network provider and seek help." Do you know what is going on here--what this problem could be? (I do have the latest Firefox version already installed. I have previously received Firefox error messages that say "Firefox Update Failed." However, I already had the latest Firefox version installed when I received those error messages.)

Apparently this occurs when Firefox has problems with security certificates. There have been a few questions about this. I will try to get advice about this.
Apparently you are using Internet Explorer 9 (From your system details). Do you have Google Updater plugin installed on Firefox ?
(That been implicated in this sort of problem by one poster, and some users with the problem do have Google Updater, but some do not)

Attempting to upgarde itunes and I get an error message looking for "an alternate path to a folder containing 'iTunes.msi' location.  I've searched my hard drive and the file doesn't exist.  What to do?

This worked...found on a prior discussion:
Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page)...
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
From the link above (near the top of the page)....Under 'download locations'   click on 'download@majorgeeks'
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you just downloaded and ran.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    Restart your computer.
Re-download Itunes (latest version form Itunes website) and install.  It worked!

  • Norton deleted the "getplusplus_adobe_reg.exe" file and now I get an error message in Firefox

I recently installed the newest version of Adobe Flash Player. As I was installing the program, Norton Internet Security said that the "getplusplus_adobe_reg.exe" file was suspect, so I deleted it. Now, every time I load Firefox, I get an error message saying that file is missing, and some websites do not function properly. I tried uninstalling and re-installing Firefox, and this did not solve the problem.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== I installed the newest Adobe Flash Player version

Getplus is the problematic Adobe Download Manager (DLM) which no one needs. See if the suggestions in the following will help you to get rid of it: http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/3665/adobe_dlm_will_not_uninstall
When updating or installing Adobe Flash (aka Shockwave Flash) follow these instructions (NOTE: you have the most current version installed):

-check to see that Firefox is completely closed (''Ctrl+Alt+Del, choose Task Manager, click Processes tab, if "firefox.exe" is on the list, right-click "firefox.exe" and choose End process, close the Task Manager window'')
-double-click on the Adobe Flash installer you just downloaded to install/update Adobe Flash
-when the Flash installation is complete, start Firefox, and test the Flash installation here: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_15507&sliceId=1

  • Everytime I click on the icon, I get an error message. Firefox doesn't even load. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

    Firefox won't open at all.
Error Meassage: Firefox had a problem and crashed. We'll try to restore your tabs and windows when it restarts. Unfortunately the crash reporter is unable to submit a crash report. Details: The application did not leave a crash dump file.
I've restarted my computer and I've tried a system restore. I've also unintstalled and reinstalled firefox.
Sometimes, I may get the crash report, but if I click Restart Firefox, that error message will just pop up.

Make sure that you have iTunes installed properly and that the program has registered the itpc: protocol.
