I run XP. I cant run firefox it in safe mode either. What else do you need to know?
I had this problem, and the solution I found is to reinstall the Microsoft Windows Media Player plugin. After doing this, I did not get this error again. Here is a screenshot of the problem in case anyone still has this problem afterwards. Another instance of this problem is here: https://support.mozilla.com/mn/questions/767118
Hope that helps! -

Microsoft Visual C++ runtime error when building installer
I'm trying to build an installer for a very simple VI I've created in 8.2. Before the build is complete I get a Microsoft Visual C++ runtime error message pointing towards the labview.exe file. I've already tried re-installing LabVIEW and deleting older versions of the LabVIEW Runtime engines with no luck. I recently upgraded my system from LabVIEW 6.1 and I'm using Windows XP. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
LabVIEW 2012 - Windows 7
CLADI included waveform storage, runtime engine 8.2, ni-visa-runtime and ni-serial3.1. I tried to create a setup.exe by installer on an other pc. But it's completely the same behavior afterwards. I attached the error message. This message appears after I choose the path and continue the setup. It's the question which file is meaning.
I tried to create a setup.exe by installer without any additional.
The strange thing is it was unsuccessful with following message. Maybe this will be helpful to find the problem.
CDK_Item_OnDoProperties.vi.ProxyCaller >> CDK_Item_OnDoProperties.vi >> CDK_InstallerConfiguration_Editor.vi >> CDK_Build_Invoke.vi >> CDK_Engine_Main.vi >> CDK_Engine_BuildDevPart.vi >> NI_MDF.lvlib:MDFBuildDevPart_Open.vi

Itunes causes Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error at Vista Startup
I installed Itunes version 8.1.1 and Quicktime on my Toshiba laptop with Vista. The installation went in correctly and Itunes found my music library.
However, when i rebooted the system, i get a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error Library error message that states "This application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way. The message persists and Vista will not boot up.
I have to do a system restore in safe mode to get Vista usuable again.
Has anyone seen this problem and can you help me find the culprit. Some people have reported that Apple Software Update can cause this error, so you might try removing that and see if it helps. Removing that utility should not affect iTunes, though you won't get automatic updates (you can just download any new version of iTunes or QuickTime manually and install it). It would, however, be wise to make a backup of any purchased content or items that would otherwise be difficult to replace, just in case something goes wrong.

Premier Elements 11 - anyone know the fix ? - Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error - shutting down Premier Elements 11
I see there are the fixes out there for Photoshop elements, but can't find the fix for Premier Elements 11. Anyone know where it is ?AC
Thanks for the reply. I understand your situation. It is not a good place to be.
The deletion of the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file, or, if necessary, the whole 11.0 Folder in which it exists
should only affect the preferences that you see in Edit Menu/Preferences/General. So, if you have customized any of
them, you will need to reset them to your customized values after the consequences of the deletions are determined.
In no way move, delete, or rename files/folders that are imported into a project after the project has been saved closed.
The consequences can be disastrous from the point of view of reconnecting source media to the project file.
At one time you must have had to connect your Premiere Elements 11 Windows to the Internet to get it installed/activated.
Also, there are some "supposedly" one time activations for certain features that need an Internet connection. I have
always worked with Premiere Elements Windows with an Internet connection so I am not sure if any of these deletions
under your circumstances will have effects other than what I described. And, it is not unthinkable that a one time activation
for a particular feature may suddenly require another activation.
What you could do, instead of deletion the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file or the 11.0 Folder in which it exists, do as
the Adobe document suggests, and rename the file/folder to disable which will allow you to get back what was there
before if necessary.
Consider the above, and we will think about this some more.
Thanks.

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error in iTunes
The last few days I've tried to open iTunes and about 3-5 seconds after it opens I get an error report saying:
"Software Application has encountered a problem and needs to close."
I click "Don't Send."
Immediatley afterward I get a error message saying:
"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error!"
I click "OK" and iTunes closes automatically.
So I checked out my QuickTime and I get a error saying:
"We're unable to find iTunes on your computer."
a few seconds later I get the C++ error message again.
hmm...any thoughts? Its seems to be working now.
I reinstalled Quicktime and updated iTunes. -
I loaded actions into my PSE 10, then when I restarted my PC (windows 7) and PSE 10 I got a Runtime Error (Microsoft Visual C Runtime Library)
Are these actions you put into the C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\10.0\Photo Creations\photo effects folder?
If so, did you delete both the
ThumbDatabase.db3 in C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\10.0
and
MediaDatabase.db3 in C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\10.0\Locale\en_us
after installing the actions?
Then let the pse 10 editor run for about 10 to 20 minutes to rebuild the effects database. -
When updating iTunes on my Windows PC, I am getting a M/S Visual C runtime error...can anyone suggest how to fix it?
It has been discussed a few times, and is even available in the Apple support web site. Basically, you need to un-install all teh Apple software you have installed, then re-install it all. When you re-install, right click on theinstaller and select "Run as Administrator" to make sure it has The proper rights to complete the installation.

When trying to open iTunes I get an R6034 error for the iTunes.exe. It appears to be caused by Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library. I'm using an HP DOS machine. When downloading an update to iTunes, an iTunes Error 7 (Windows error 1114) appears stating that iTunes did not install correctly. Does anyone have a suggestion for resolving this situation?
This is one link. Please go through Microsoft and find a safe repair to the problem.

Runtime Error - Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Each time I login to my Windows Server 2012 machine, after few minutes I keep getting the Runtime Error, even if I close the dialog box, it keeps repeating for 3-4 times.
Below is the error description
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Windows\system32\wbem\wmiprvse.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.
Can somebody help on this?
Thanks,
VishwanathHi Vishwanath,
Based on my research, this issue could be caused by missing or corrupt system files, please try to run the "sfc /scannow" without the quotes in cmd to fix it.
If this can not work, please also check this forum to fix:

When I try to upgrade Labview 6.0i to 6.0.2 by running the setup.exe file I downloaded from the NI site, I immediately get a dialog box with the header "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" and it says "Runtime Error! Program: C:\setup.exe abnormal program termination."
I'm running Windows 2000, but I've successfully installed it on another computer with the same setup. I'm guess some of the DLL files in system32 has been corrupted or mismatched versions. But I don't know which one...
Anyone know what this means?Hello,
You can probably solve this problem by going to Start >> Run and typing the following:
Regsvr32 \msi.dll
Where is the folder where the msi.dll file resides on your computer (you can use Start >> Find to find the exact location). Once you do this, the installation of the 6.0.2 update should work properly.
Please let me know if you continue to have any problems. Thanks for your patience on this issue, and have a pleasant day.

How to solve dreaded Microsoft Visual C ++ Runtime error?
Hi,
This is my first post. Grrrrr!
I recently installed 2.5 after having 2.4 and 2.3 and everything has been running along great...until tonight.
When I tried to open 2.5 I get the following message:
"Microsoft Visual C ++ Runtime library
Program C :/ prog
This application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way. please contact the application's support team for more info"
I have checked out on line for a work around but there doesn't seem anything that makes clear sense....ie looking for a state-.dat file that doesn't seem to exist in my computer (PC vista xp).
I have also seen that holding down the cntrl button when opening Lightroom can overcome the problem, which it does, at least up until it asks me to create a new directory, but I have no idea what I'm supposed to do to create a new directory.
Another thing, I notice that in my program files that I have both 2.4 and 2.5...I don't know if that's behind the conflict.
Many thanks,
AdrianI think you will find that the older LR folder is almost empty and so you'd have to reinstall 2.4 to get it running again and that wouldn't be the first thing to try.
A message about C++ Runtime error really doesn't indicate a particular problem but there are several possibilities:
1) Hard disk error or corruption where running a ScanDisk or ChkDsk or whatever it is called nowadays might help fix the problem.
2) Corrupt program files. Reinstalling might fix that.
3) A corrupt catalog, where holding down Ctrl (or Alt) when starting up LR will allow you to create a new catalog or at least open a different one, which might work, and get you past the error. Then you'd need to go to a backup catalog and redo all your work since then, where if you've been writing changes to XMP files, it would be a lot easier.
4) A corrupt preferences file. Navigate to C:\Users\[yourusername]Steve\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences and at least rename the whatever.agprefs file to whatever.agprefsX or something and then restart LR and see if things work differently.
5) An errant plug-in you've recently installed.
Item 4 might be the easiest to try and be the easiest to recover from, where all you'd need to do is re-adjust your settings, again, I think.
Item 3, a corrupt catalog, is also easy to test for, but recovery is more difficult.
