I get this message and I don't know what to do about it

This computer's local hostname " Ians- iMac -226.local is already in use on this network.The name has been changed to "Ians-iMac-309.local"
To change the local hostname,open System Preferences and click Sharing,then click "Edit" and type the name in the LocalHostname field.
I've done this about a dozen times only the numbers change every time the window pops up!

There are several possible causes for this behavior.
1. Two (or more) computers on the local network have the same Bonjour name, such as "X's-MacBook-Pro.local". Resolve the name conflict by renaming one or more of them in the Sharing preference pane.
2. You have two simultaneous connections to the same local network: probably Ethernet and Wi-Fi. If applicable, disconnect the Ethernet cable or turn off Wi-Fi.
3. A Mac wakes from sleep due to network traffic. This is a bug in OS X that may only affect some models.
4. A device that gets its network address from the router wakes from sleep, and the address it was using before has been assigned to another device.
5. A third-party wireless router has incompatible settings or firmware. In that case, refer to the manufacturer or ISP for support. Restarting the router may help, temporarily.

When I try to authorize my computer for the Ipad, Itunes tells me that I have authorized 5 computers already. Today I have De-authorized ALL and I still get this message. I don't know what to do next.

I de-authorized ALL, but when I plug my ipad in and try to back it up, Itunes tells me that my account has been used on too many computers. This is the only apple device that does that. Not it. Thanks. I tried it, so thanks for the tip, but I get the same error message. That I need to authorize this computer to get the purchases. I guess it's not really an error message. But It will not let me proceed any further. Once again I have deauthorized and this is the only computer that is authorized for this account.

If you have IE version 10 go to TOOLS and change the option to use Compatibility View

Since there aren't any "viruses" for Mac, you can't and don't have one.
You've most likely got a plug-in for myvdrive that's causing the popups.
Safari>Pereferences>Extensions
Look for MyVdrive and uninstall it.

Not completely sure how this happened, but daughter changed my apple ID name, password, and email address 2 days ago and I can't find an easy way to undo this. And I don't know what the new info is. Any suggestions?

All I have is the email from Apple informing me about the change to my account, but without any specifics. And my daughter doesn't know what they are So I went and created a "new" account using all my original information, even keeping my password the same, but I'm still considered a "new" account and my ITunes Match can't be accessed, nor can I see any of my past purchases.

To change the iCloud ID on your device you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password to turn off Find My iPhone when prompted, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.

I'm guessing you did not buy the iPad from Apple. If you did not buy it from Apple, it may very well have an older software version. Only iOS 5 or later is PC independent. If you have an earlier version, a computer with iTunes loaded is required.

If your old version of iTunes is still working - then I sugest you stick with that.
iTunes 11 is a lousy update - It will not retain your playlists, you can't find and delete duplicates... and a whole arry of oyher issues. (have a look around this forum to see how many issues IT11 gives people)

why does illustartor CC open then crashes and i get a message saying windows does not know what the problem is. everytime i open it, Now i know it works on my computer becuase i've used illustartor plenty of times on my current desktop but ever since today its been acting wierd and work so i've unistalling and reinstalling but still nothing works then i tried installing on another hardrive still did not work and i cleaned out my registryies, optimized my disk, and cleaned temp files tooo so i just do not know what went wrong and i really need help i have class assignments that i have to get done in illustartor so if anyone can help me and let me know what the problem is and what i have to do i would really apreciate it.

- Do you see an AICC splash screen? If yes then could you please let us know where exactly it crashes i.e. while loading which plugin or font?
- Do you have any 3rd party plugins installed? Can you please remove those (do take a backup of them) and see if AI launches fine? This way you would be able to find the plugin creating the problem.
- Did you install any OS or Ai update after which it started showing the problem?
- Please check if you have all the Verdana family fonts installed.
Let me know if any of these work.

Try to boot into Safe Mode and order this way, or sign into a different user account and try to order as a different user.

Then I'd check the system drive, if it has problems.
To check your System drive boot into the Recovery Partition, see: OS X Lion: About Lion Recovery
Restart your Mac and hold down the Command key and the R key (Command-R), and keep holding them until the Apple icon appears, indicating that your Mac is starting up.
You will see a panel, where you can use Disk Utility to check your System Drive.

I've got the same problem.
It wasn't the case before the upgrade to v 9.2 (Iphoto 11) yesterday.
The previous solution preferences - advanced - "select a store" (last option) doesn't solve it anymore.
