I get this message when i click on iChat to sign on

"Could not connect to AIM: A connection already exists from your computer’s IP address. Only one connection per IP address is allowed."
I'm lost, please help.

Ok.
iChat is an AIM Client.
@mac names are recognized as AIM Screen Names
The AIM servers will remember when and where you logged into them with an AIM valid name.
So any AIM client on any computer that is logged in will get the text message warning if it thinks you are logged in.
This could be from another application on the same computer such as AdiumX or ProteusX or even AIM for Mac on your Mac or AIM for PC on a PC.
Mostly it is simply forgetting to log out of Home or work before transferring computers
Sometimes though if you lost the connection to the server suddenly the flag setting at the AIM server will say you are logged in when you are not.
To cure the last type 1 in response to the message.
This will log the other instance out of the AIM servers.
Then Quit iChat and restart it and the message should not appear.
The restart will also clear iChat of not logging out properly if the connection was previously lost.
