I get Update errors when no update is due - sometimes won't close

I will get a window appearing stating that a Firefox update failed.. but when I check, I have the latest version.
Sometimes Firefox will not close, but runs in the background.. does not show as application in Task Manager.
I have to restart in order to resume browsing.
Additionally, Microsoft Security Essentials Virus definition KB2310138 (definition 1.165.3736.0) will not update with WindowsUpdate_80070002 Error. Updating definitions through MSE fail with connection failure.
I think the two problems are related.

I had an issue with my Win 7 Microsoft Security Essentials. Windows update
would download the upgrade, but the upgrade could not install. After many
hours of searching help sites and web search engines, I finally found out
what the problem was. Somehow, Windows lost the install information

two programs called Microsoft Security Client. Don't forget to first download

The nice part is that I work remotely, so I only have to wake up 15 minutes or so before the meeting.... Please excuse, but I have to ask an obvious question: Did you already update using the Snow Leopard Retail install DVD? (You must do this first; 10.6.7 is just an update if you already have 10.6.) Are you, then, trying to update from whatever version was on the install DVD to 10.6.7?
Otherwise, I'd keep trying. The 10.6.7 Combo is a huge update.

I am also facing the same issue.
four days back, my power buttton stopped working.
Then my sim card slot stopped reading like it was stuck at gsm/cdma band.
Even without simcard it said searching..
then I changed the power button and antenna strip myself as my iphone5 is uk ee and i live in india.
Everything was fine and I booted the phone.
The power button worked like a new device... but the searching problem still remained.
I hard resetted my phone but to no vail. even Find My phone was not turning off.
then I forced my phone to recovery mode and downloaded iphone5,2 7.0.2,11A501_restore.ipsw from web and flashed it.
At the start it recognised and everything was good until the "restoring iphone firmware" was stuck at the end point.
I tried every trick on net. Even tried to downgrade.. but it was blocked.
at the last it is either stuck at firmware or itunes unknown error (3)
Please somebody help me to recover this PAPERWEIGHT to a phone again...
