I get "Welcome to NGINX" instead of my home page

I installed Firefox 5 and at first it was fine, then I got "Welcome to NGINX!" instead of my homepage. The address bar says I'm on my homepage, though. I uninstalled, ran antivirus, reinstalled and it's still there. I have used Firefox for years, but I went back to IE9.

  • When I open the new Firefox 5, I get a blank tab instead of my home page?

    I am able to click on the home page button and my home page opens, but I used to be able to open Firefox and my home page was there. I don't understand what I need to do.

    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    *Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • I downloaded Firefox 4.01 and now when i open a new tab, i get a blank page, instead of my home page. How do I change that? Thanks

    I downloaded Firefox 4.01 and now when i open a new tab, i get a blank page instead of my home page. How can I default to my home page when a new tab opens?

    You can do that by using an add-on such as:
    * NewTabURL - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/newtaburl
    * New Tab Homepage - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/new-tab-homepage
    Another way of opening the home page in a new tab is to middle click on the home button in the navigation toolbar.

  • How can I stop Firefox 22 restoring my tabs from previous session instead of my home page?

    I updated to Firefox 22 today and since then Firefox opens in the tabs from the previous session instead of my home page. This occurs no matter how I close Firefox. I am aware that this has happened in previous versions of Firefox(e.g. Firefox 20) and that a solution would be found in a future version. The solution has obviously not been found.
    I have applied the suggested workaround, changing the preference for browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash to false, with absolutely no effect. This workaround did work in versions 20 and 21.
    Can anyone help?

    nope just delete the file the actual prefs are in prefs.js, user.js is used for something else
    Therefore: delete user.js

  • Cannot get Firefox to open on my selected home page [MSN] instead of Search

    On my desktop which has Windows XP Service Pack 3 and Firefox 4, when opening and launching Firefox, the "default" page is Search instead of MSN. I have followed your instructions as to how to fix this, but it does not work. I have to manually click on Tools, then Options and change the home page...each and every time I launch.

    Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
    *Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
    "Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
    *Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
    You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.
    Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make a note of those passwords and bookmarks.
    You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the affected files.
    It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.

    Firefox opens for 2 seconds then closes until it opens again ,with the link page, instead of my Home Page

    I use Ubuntu 10.04 and I also get this problem when attempting to open a link through TBird 3.1.10. Firefox 4.0.1 '''opens to my homepage only'''. I have to physically put the link address in the address bar to go to the link.

    Hi,
    You may have to change the setting in the application itself or disable the app in '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Add-ons''', click '''Extensions''' on the left. If that doesn't work, try to uninstall the application. Please also see [http://funmoods.com/terms this] (the third bulleted point).

  • In FF5, how can I get new tabs to open to my home page?

    How can I get a new tab in FF5 to default to my home page? The add-on which did that doesn't work with 5.

    You can middle-click or Ctrl left-click the Home button on the Navigation toolbar to open the Home page in a new tab.
    You can look at this extension:

    How do I get tabs to open in my home page?

    You can install one of the many add-ons to accomplish this. There are many different ones available, so you can just go to the Firefox add-ons page and search for "Home Page".
    Also, ensure that you've setup Firefox with your Home Page URL. If you haven't done so, follow the steps below:
    * Go to Options (i.e. \Firefox\Options\Options);
    * Go to the General tab;
    * Under Start-up - enter the URL in the Home Page URL box.
    Note: Make sure that you have chosen "Show my Home Page" under "When Firefox Starts" (use the drop down arrow).

  • How do I get rid of 22 Find as my home page?

    There was an automatic change of some kind that no matter what I do this 22Find sight comes up when I get on internet. I have tried all your suggestions to resetting the old home page or choosing a different home page. None of them have worked. I really find 22Find irritating. I am not interested in all the advertisements. I just want to get on line. . . .that's all.

    You can check the target line in the Firefox desktop shortcut (right-click: Properties) to make sure that nothing is appended after the path to the Firefox program.
    You can open the <b>about:config</b> page via the location bar and search for prefs that refer to 22find or find22 and reset related user set (bold) prefs via the right-click context menu to the default value.
