I give up: How do you send an invitation or to-do to a Windows participant?

Half the people on one iCal business calendar I keep are Windows users.
How can they read the event or to-do when I send email?
All they see is an .ics file.
Please tell me this is possible....or is this another one of Apple's 'Let's make our products only work for for high school students' approaches?

Well, your comment needs to be changed from 'Let's make our products only work for high school students' approaches.
The reason I say that is that importing an .ics file even for Windows users to each other is known problem for Microsoft products. I read a workaround somewhere, but just Google it as "Importing .ics files into MS Outlook."
So, the phrase is and should be, "Bill, why can't you make products that work to industry standards?
The problem is not that you are sending something that can't be read, but something that should be able to be read, you just have a company that won't do anything about it.
Question is, what version of Outlook are your people running on? I have Outlook XP (2002) and it won't take it. I am in the process of seeing if Outlook 2003 will accept the .ics file.
