I GIVE UP ITUNES

Unfortunately I lost all my home and all my computers and my business to hurricane Katrina. I have been able to retrieve all my files from the web (streamload.com) but the only thing I have not been able to use again is my iTunes Files since they only give you permission to authorize five computers.
Well, I give up iTunes and will never purchase another file from this service since it is like buyong a house and the seller still has the right to keep the title. He still may decide who can come into the house and who may not. That is the way I feel with iTunes. I am sure they will continue to discourage more people from using this system and sending them to alternate programs.
Good Bye iTunes, I hope you enjoy all my unretrieveable files.
Vidal

Umm, why not request to have your other machines de-authorised?

  • TS1292 How can I give an iTunes gift to someone in another country?

I want to give iTunes as a gift to someone in another country, how do I do this?

You cannot. iTunes' gifts may only be purchased and redeemed in the same country where it was purchased.

  • After I did the newest update ios7 on my iPhone 4 now it just gives the iTunes screen

Since I updated my iPhone 4 there has been a terrible lag in the voicemail especially when deleting voicemail.  So as soon as I saw there was a new update I downloaded it.  Now my phone won't  do anything it just gives me the iTunes picture on the phone.

Your phone is in recovery mode.  You must restore it on your computer via USB

  • I live in Scotland and have three grandchildren in USA, how can I give them iTunes gift cards for Christmas?

I live in Scotland.  I have three Grandchildren in USA.  I would like to gift them iTunes for Christmas.  Is this possible now as it hasn't been in years past.  Thank you for any help.

You can go to other online suppliers of iTunes cards and buy from them and provide the redeem number to your Grand-Children - Look up in Google

  • I have a Uk itunes account, which I pay for in UK currency. But i've been give Austrailian $ itunes vouchers. Can I spend them without swithching my account to an Australian one?

    any help appreciated - thanks

You can't transfer any content from one account to another account (nor can accounts be merged) - all content will remain tied to the account that downloaded it.
Do you not have copies of all of your downloads e.g. on your computer or backup of your downloads/library ? Whilst you are in Australia you can't redownload your UK purchases (you have to be in a country to use its store), if you have them on your computer's iTunes library then you should be able to stream them from it to your Apple TV

  • HT4527 I want to give my iTunes another user name and email with out losing my purchases

How can I change the name and email on my iTunes account without losing all my stuff

You can change your AppleID/e-mail address.  In iTunes on the Menu Bar go to Store/View my Apple ID. It'll take you to your account page in iTunes. Where it says Apple ID(your e-mail address) there is a link to edit that information. It shows your current e-mail and password/verify password. Below that is a link to change your security questions and other Apple ID details appleid.apple.com.
On that page it says if you change your e-mail address it'll send a verification e-mail to that address.. and that new Apple ID/e-mail address will be used to access all Apple services(iTunes etc)

  • I can't listen to at least 100 of my songs on itunes. When I try it gives me a message that it can't play that song because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it? What do I do?

When I try to listen to certain songs a message pops up that the original file could not be found. Do you want to locate file? I don't know how this happened and I don't know what to do. I have tried repairing Itunes and also uninstallng and reinstalling. I have restarted my computer and even done some troubleshooting. When I tried hooking my ipod up to my computer to see if that would help I got a message that said "At least 100 songs could not be transferred, including "You found me."" I have no such song in my itunes. Can itunes get a virus?
Does anyone have any ideas what I can do? I'm at a loss and would really like my itunes to be back to normal.

    I was not complete clear.
Since you never changed the settings in the advanced section of iTunes preferecnes, you have to chech that your music is really in the location setted in the folders reported in the advanced section.  If not you have 2 ways: reset the position of this folders or in the actual disk organisation or in the pointing on the preferences.
If you press the reset button you just give to itunes its default setting as for the position of the music files: probably this will be a good choice if you have never changed any default preference.
But before I would check the folders and see if the songs are really there
In my iTune I have this, and I believe it is the default.

  • Why don't apple give iTunes song download for free, at least few of the song

Apple don't give free iTunes song download or bluetooth sharing. I am also an iPhone user and don't have a option to share my songs photos etc to others who are not using iPhone. I prefer free iTunes song download.

Why should they give you things for free? How many other stores do you walk into that give you things for free? Apple has to pay the artists and record companies for those songs, so Apple therefore has to charge you for them, just as in the case with any store. Apple does in some countries offer a free "song of the week". Look to the bottom of the iTunes Store for the "free on iTunes" button.
As to sharing songs with others, that's illegal, just as it would be if you made a copy of a CD and gave it away. There are third-party apps in the iTunes Store that do allow some limited sharing of files such as photos via Bluetooth with other iPhones, so you might do a search of the iTunes Store for "bluetooth" and see what comes up. If you want to share with others not using iPhones, you'll need to look to some other service such as Dropbox, Flickr, etc.

  • Is it safe to give number of credit card to Itunes?

I am not happy when I must give to Itunes profile my credit card number.
Is it safe or have you some bad experiences?

It is safe if you protect efficiently the access through the password. As long as nobody has access to your iTunes account, there's no risk. If any doubt that someone could have had read your password, change it, and it will be safe. If your computer is shared, don't let the password on the computer itself, only in your mind.

  • Can you transfer between itunes accounts using home sharing

I am wanting buy an Ipad 2 as a present and pre load some apps for them on it. Ill have to sync it to my itunes account to do this. so how do i go about ensuring what i have downlaoded doesnt get lose when they then use their itunes account? Would having to 2 accounts on one computer help?

Apps are locked to the iTunes Store account under which they were purchased and cannot be transferred to another account. Unless the recipient of this gift will be living with you or is someone who you would trust with your iTunes Store account ID and password, preloading the iPad won't be practical since, without your iTunes Store account information, anything you load on the iPad will be erased when the recipient syncs it to their computer. You can gift the apps, if you wish, which would allow the recipient to download the apps through his or her own iTunes Store account. Or you can give an iTunes card along with the iPad and let the person choose their own apps.
    Regards.

  • HT201318 Can I but my iCloud storage for my girlfriend with my iTunes login

My girlfriend and I have both have iPhones. I straight away upgraded my storage as I knew I need more space. But she thinks she wouldn't need it. Anyhow not that I would say I told u so to her but she does. And her way is deleting apps and photos etc. stuff she uses. So I thought id upgrade her but not tell her.
So the question is! Can I upgrade her account but with I'm iTunes details. Basically want to buy it but for her so. Not using her login to pay for it just mine. Is this possible or is this to far fetched?!
I'm hoping it's not otherwise ill just have to do it the old fashion way and put money into her account and then use hers.
Hope someone knows the answer for my sake and hers of course

Without her knowing - No. The subtlest way I can think of is to give her itunes gift card, make sure she puts on her icloud account - then buy the storage and then explain why she can't buy the cd's she wanted. Too much trouble looks like.
Really hard to surprise me at that point, BTW.

  • Is it possible for me to share an itunes playlist with someone who is not on my local network and who has a different itunes account? I would like to send a playlist to my friend as a gift, but don't want to buy all the songs before I know it'll work.

This is what I found when searching for an answer online, but iTunes has changed so much since this posting that I don't know if the answer is still valid:
Give your playlist as a gift
You can gift a playlist to a friend, assuming everything is available on the iTunes Store. If you want to share the contents of you favorite playlist with a friend, you can send it as a gift (within the limits of what’s available on the iTunes Store, that is). If you select a playlist, then click the small arrow icon to the right of its name, a dialog box will display asking if you want to give this playlist or publish it on the iTunes Store. If you click Give Playlist, iTunes will look at your songs, then take you to the iTunes Store. This is, of course, limited to what’s available, and if your playlist contains any songs that are album-only sales, you won’t be able to give these; in fact, if your playlist contains any album-only songs, the process will stop, and you won’t be able to give anything from that playlist until you remove the album-only songs (and iTunes won’t tell you which ones they are, but these are generally songs that are longer than 10 minutes). But assuming you can give the playlist you’ve created, I’m sure your recipient will be very happy.

    Hi czigrand,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Currently, you can gift dollar amounts or individual items (EG. songs) on the iTunes Store. See this article for more information:
In the iTunes Store, you can gift a dollar amount or specific music, movies, TV shows, or apps from your iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, Mac, or PC. Follow these steps to send a gift from the iTunes Store.

  • Song information will not show up on ITunes

I've played a bunch of tracks on my 2nd Gen Ipod Shuffle and when I reconnected to my computer, the only tracks that showed up as being played were ones from earlier this afternoon (about 7 of them)
I was trying yesterday to make seperate playlists for my ITunes collection (my roommate and I both use the same computer so we keep all of our songs in the same collection) could that have something to do with what's going on now?
Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

    From iTunes 101 http://www.apple.com/support/ipod101/tunes/2/#1
    1. Insert an audio CD into your computer.
    2. If your computer is connected to the Internet, iTunes will automatically display the album title and all track names (if the album is listed in the Gracenote CD database).
    Regards

  • I'm trying to get my itunes media from two different PCs onto my iPhone

After purchasing media from iTunes (same iTunes account) on two different computers (1x Win Vista desktop and 1x Win XP laptop), is there a way to get all of this media onto my iPhone (3GS)? I was very dissapointed to see that you can only sync one computer at a time which surprised me because usually Apple products are a lot more user friendly and from my humble experience, I have generally found Apple products to just make since although this problem is seriously aggravating. I am trying to get all of the media that I bought on my laptop (Win XP) to sync with my iPhone (3GS) but since I have already been syncing with my desktop (Win Vista), it wants to erase everything that I already had on my phone, including invaluable photos that I have taken of my children and media that I have purchased on the phone itself. This process has already deleted all of the music that I purchased on my phone (I am assuming that I can't get this music back or at least the music that wasn't backed up yet to my desktop). Is there anyway to get all of my media onto this phone and keep the media that is on my phone already or should I just go back to using my HTC Tilt since it has proven to be a lot more user friendly? One would think that Apple would appreciate you purchasing media from iTunes anywhere that you could but it seems that Apple penalizes you for purchasing from iTunes from more than one computer. I have tried to access my iPhone through the "my computer" folder on my Win XP laptop but my iPhone does not show up in this folder (although it does show up in my Vista desktop "my computer" folder). Can anyone please point me in the right direction to find a solution as this problem has been extremely frustrating. I would very much appreciate all the help that anyone could give.

Will iTunes allow me to do this? I'm not really all that familiar with Windows computers. I have recently had to move to a PC because my $3000 macBook Pro died one month after the warranty was up. How could I get iTunes to accept media from another computer?
