Display has no backlight or dark screen
Toggle the ringer switch to see if the unit vibrates. If it does, it could be that iPhone is getting power, but is not displaying any image.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
While connected to the iPhone charger, try to reset the iPhone.
If the low-battery screen appears, charge the iPhone.
Issue not resolved

If you successfully restored to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (Not via Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting) and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem. Could be the screen or something else.

Did the update ever complete? Presumably the update was too iOS 8.1.1.
Have you tried resetting your iPad?
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds)

Yesterday i just try to open my iPad but i had a black screen. I can hear it working but i cant see anything. I tried all kinds of restore reset everthing but i still got a black screen. Anyone has the same problem and got a sollution? Thanks in advance..

Last week, my iPhone 4 got a black screen for about 2 hrs. I did the hard reset (holding home/lock buttons) and it came back on. Problem solved. Now a few days ago, the same thing happend. Only this time, my phone WILL NOT turn back on! The hard reset isn't working, it won't charge and iTunes doesn't recognize it! I really don't know what else to do! I'm really tryna avoid going to an Apple store because well? They're waaaay too far from me. Has anyone else had this problem? Can somebody please help me?
I'm having the same problem as we speak and I was wondering if you've figured out the problem? Everyone keeps telling me to go into recovery mode but mine isn't doing ANYTHING.

Does anybody know how to restore photos on the iPhone 4?
My phone automatically updated my photo album and it made duplicates of each photo.

Photos :( if I synch my phone what will happen?The only way to lose content on the device is restore as "new" from iTunes or "Erase All Content and Settings" from the device.

Sammyhunter lets get you back in action! Has there been any physical/water damage to the device? Try pressing and holding the home and power button together. Once the Apple symbol appears release both buttons. Keep us posted!

MY ipod Touch is Stuck & says Disabled it will not come out of that screen at all. How can I get that off so my device will work
Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.
If you previously synced to the computer then you may be able to recover use of the iPod without erasing the iPod by following the instructions here:

Got a black screen while using boot camp
So i was installing windows 7using boot camp, everything was going well intell i got to pick which drive to install. it stated installing the files then said files cant be loaded. I tryed to repeat the process but got the same message. So i restarted my mac, now its just sitting at a black screen with a blip in the upper left cornor of the screen like if i was to type something. Iv restarted serveral times, and its the same screen. I cant get back to the windows start screen or my mac screen. What can i do?

I was just installing windows 7 onto my MacBook Pro. I selected to have 200GB for Windows and the rest leave for Mac.
I clicked install and the bar filled up as it should do. However, once the install had completed, my MacBook turned itself off. I assumed this was normal. Now, my MacBook has a black screen with a white flashing underscore in the top left corner.
What is wrong and what should I do?Hold down the Option key when starting up then on the sceen that comes up select Mac OS X to boot from.
The Win 7 install didn't go well and is hung in some way. You should use boot camp assistant to remove the win partition and start over.
Make sure you are using a Retail version of Win 7. A Branded OEM version, like ones from Dell and HP, will NOT work to install Windows 7 on your Mac. -
On a MacBook Pro Mid-2009, i got a black screen.

I use to run Windows XP for gaming. Recently, my logic board has been replaced. Now, i am unable to boot into my Windows partition : i am getting a black screen.
I deleted it with BootCamp assistant and created a new one.
Now, when i insert the windows install dvd, after reboot still stuck on black screen. I tried with XP install dvd and a brand new windows 7 install DVD.

Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Option, Command (⌘), P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.

Immediately press and hold the Option-Command-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears. Continue holding the keys down until your Mac restarts, and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.

After HP replaced the motherboard, and few days later I got a black desktop and windows not genuine afterwards. Any suggestion what I should do. I tried to use Microsoft support website on the server, and it will not let me proceed to any of their site.

From memory, when you activate a copy of Windows it makes a note of the currently installed hardware (spec, serial numbers etc) so you can't just copy all the files onto another machine and use it there. My guess is that the setup has changed enough for
it to no longer recognise it as the same machine (though I thought it normally takes a few elements changing to trigger that reaction), and so thinks it's no longer genuine. Getting Windows to activate again may work, otherwise you'll probably need to phone
Microsoft to get them to sort it out and allow it to activate again. -
