I got a Firefox User survey saying that I won something, is this a scam?
A separate window popped up and said, "Congratulations, you have won the 2014 Annual Visitor Survey (Houston). I answered the survey questions, and then it gave me the choice of 3 prizes. That's where I stopped and realized that this may be a scam of some sort. Does Firefox even do this kind of thing, because it looks really well done. If not, is there a way to report this as a scam? If I did win something, that's great, but I want to make sure this is safe first.
Thank you
Suspicions confirmed! Now to follow your instructions and stay wary for the future.

Just got an e mail to say that my Apple ID was just used to download photoshop touch for phone for 2.99 from the App Store with a receipt number. Is this a scam for me to give my Apple ID?
No but there's a link to reset your password. Etc etc..
This is the email I got.
"Your Apple ID was just used to download Photoshop Touch for phone £2.99 from the App Store on a computer or device that had not previously been associated with that Apple ID.
If you initiated this download, you can disregard this email. It was only sent to alert you in case you did not initiate the download yourself.
If you did not initiate this download, we recommend that you go to iforgot.apple.com to change your password, then see Apple ID: Tips for protecting the security of your account for further assistance.

Hi I got an email from itunes saying that my pre order was ready and when I click on the link from my ipad it takes me to the itunes store app and then it doesn't do anything help with this please .
<Link Edited By Host>Thanks for your advice, I went to the apple shop today for a face to face meeting with a tech and he checked everything and could not figure out why I was having this problem so we decided to give up on that account and create a whole new one for me using a different email address.
Now I can download apps on both my iPhone and ipad2.
If anyone is reading this in Brisbane Australia go to the Chermside apple shop and ask for Wade. He was fantastic!

Take it into an Apple store and have it checked out.

You shouldn't have bought any.
They are part of the 1 year standard warranty.
Take it into an Apple store for free replacement (if not user damaged). -
When I try to open iTunes, Error 2 appears saying that itunes won't open because "Apple Application Support was not found". What do I do???
If your problem is only w/iTunes, you really should re-post over in the iTunes for Windows forums instead of the iPod forums.

i updated my iphone 3g to ios4.2.1 ... the update was succesful but nw itunes says that sim card inserted in this phone is not acceptable and also states that on;y compatible sim from supported carrier is acceptable !!! kindly suggest ...

i bought my iphone in USA and im using it in india .... kindly hellp me how can i resolve this problem !!!
It has NEVER been possible to purchase an unlocked iPhone 3G in the US. Your phone was hacked. Updating it has re-locked it to AT&T. AT&T will NOT unlock iPhones for any reason.
The phone is now useless to you. There is no legitimate way to fix this. Buy a new phone. Preferably in India. -
Rogers is saying that IOS4 won't allow use of the personal hotspot with a plan of less than 1GB data. I say it's a policy of theirs, not an iOS restriction. Anyone know the truth?
I call BS but the tech guy was insistent that the iPhone can detect what plan I have and won't enable the feature and there's nothing they can do about it, short of selling me a larger data plan...robfromkelowna wrote:
Actually it does. It's wrong to lie to a customer. By blaming Apple, they shift the blame and make it seem like there is nothing they can do about it. If they admitted it was their policy, I could complain and try to get it changed or I could move to another carrier.
If a person killed someone and blamed it on a heart attack, the person is stil dead, does it matter? Either way they're dead, right... (extreme, I know, but illustrating a point)
Wow.
It is certainly Rogers policy and is not unusual at all among carriers.
Seems like a non-issue to me, but apparently being "lied to" ( perhaps the employee was simply mistaken, it happens) is a major deal to you. -
Whenever I try to log in to my Gmail account, the page redirects for a loooong time, then says that it won't load properly, and that the problem may be caused by not enabling cookies, but I have them enabled. Any idea what the problem might really be?
I did think about that and if I have to I will do that, however there are about 50 songs. I have closed and reopened iTunes several times and I am sure that I have the latest version. It fails right away but I can click on the cloud download icon and download the song that it failed on ... therefore it is not that song "or any one song" causing the issue. Any ideas?

It says that I downloaded something that I didn't
It says that I downloaded something that I didn't
Very vague.
Someone in your household may have, or your account has been hacked.
Change your password.
Call your card holder/bank about reimbursement.

I am having trouble with some websites, i.e. amazon. It says that it works best with a newer version of safari, firefox, etc.
I had my hard drive crash so when I had the new one installed I tried to download the newest firefox and found it is not compatible with the mac tiger that I need a newer version leopard +
How do I download a version that will work?
ThanksJust repeating what it says above: "Firefox 4 and later require at least OS X 10.5".
I have OS X 10. 5 but I am sticking with Firefox 3.6.24. The last time I upgraded to Firefox 4, I had to wait 5 minutes for every mouse click to execute. -
I have the firefox icon on the tool bar at the bottom. When I click on it, another one appears so now there are 2. I wanted to update my firefox but, when I try to run the install I get a box that says that I need to close firefox in order to install and it is not open. I need to get this corrected. What do I do?
Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before reinstalling a fresh copy of Firefox.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
*Firefox 19.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you will also lose your personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.
