    Hello there, Capricious13.
There are great pointers in the following Knowledge Base article. Depending on where you see the content and where you want to get it to, this should guide you to putting it in the right place:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

I just got a new computer and want to import my music from my ipod classic and keep my current play lists. How do I do this?

You can go to the pictures folder on your old computer and copy the "iPhoto library" file and copy it to a thumb drive or something like that and then just open it on your new Mac.

got a new computer and want to instal pse 7 - have original disk but misplaced serial # - what to do

If you ever registered it with adobe, you can get your serial number by going to the main page of adobe.com and looking for My Adobe. Work through the links there and you can retrieve your serial number from your adobe store account.

i recently got a new computer and want to transfer music from my i pod to my computer. how do i do that?

The ipod is not a storage/backup device.  The sync is one way - computer to ipod.  The only exception is itunes purchases: File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
You should copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.

  • I have a new computer and want to move my Itunes libriarys to this new PC.  How do I do this .

I have a new computer and want to move my Itunes libriarys to this new PC.  How do I do this?

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
If you have an iOS device that syncs with contact & calendar data on your computer you should migrate this information too. If that isn't possible create a dummy entry of each type in your new profile and iTunes should offer to merge the existing data from the device into the computer, otherwise the danger is that it will wipe the information from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data. If you don't have any Apple devices then see HT2519 - Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store.

  • My motherboard went out and I got a new computer and I need to deactivate Pro X from the old system and activate it on the new system.  How is this done?

My motherboard went out and I got a new computer and I need to deactivate Pro X from the old system and activate it on the new system.  How is this done?

    Hi David ,
If it is a retail version ,then you need to deactivate it and uninstall it as well from your old computer and then you can install it back on the new computer.
If it a subscription based software ,then you just need to deactivate it and you can operate the same on your new computer by entering in your credentials .

  • I have recently bought a new pc and want to transfer my music library from my iphone to itunes on my new pc

I have recently bought a new pc and want to transfer my music library from my iphone to itunes on my new pc

I too have just purchased a new pc and want to transfer EVERYTHING from my iPhone to the new pc.  I am unable to access my old pc for the files.  I have been able to transfer what I purchased on my phone but nothing else.  Is there anyway to just transfer everything without having to have access to the old pc?

  • I got a new computer and want to transfer PHOTOS Is this possible?

I'v got all the photos from my old computer onto my ipod but now when I plug it into my new computer, it tells me that i can not sync 2 librarys and I have to delete the stuff on the ipod to update....does anyone know a way around this? Is it even possible? (it seams that even though I have the latest addition of itunes on both computers that I used to have an option to do this but now I cant figure it out.)
    Thanks for ANY help
ps: maybe you know a way that does not involve the ipod OR slowly up-laoding them all to the internet?

You can manually manage music like this, but not photos. You need to transfer these photos to your new computer and then sync them to your iPod from that computer.

  • Ive just got a new computer and trying to put songs on my new shuffle, but i keeps asking me to authorize the computer, i have no idea how to do this

    Hi can someone please help,
i ve got a new computer (windows7)  and a new shuffle, and its asking to aurthrized the computer before i down load anything for i tunes that ihave already bought. but there is no explaination on how to do this
    any ideas

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

  • I got a new computer and im trying to move my music from my old one to my new one HELP PLEASE

Okay I tried to use my usb and it was good and I put the music on there and
then I plugged it in my new computer and I dragged it from the usb to iTunes
and then it was playing and fine THEN I un plug the usb and I click on a song
and it says It cant find the file....

Reconnect the USB drive and organize the library from within iTunes. To prevent this happening again, either drag the library to the internal drive or set iTunes to automatically copy the files to the iTunes Media folder.

  • I have just bought a new computer and want to set up itunes and download all my data from my iphoneaa

I have just bought a new computer how do i update Itunes with my old data

You need to move your iTunes library and other important data(contacts, calendars, pics, etc.) from your old computer to your new computer:
    http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/articles/comments/moving-your-itunes-library-to -a-new-hard-drive/
Once you do that, authorize your new computer(Store>Authorize this Computer), then backup your iPhone on your new computer, then restore your phone from that backup, followed by syncing your iTunes content back to your phone. The iTunes content currently on your phone will be erased when you first sync on your new computer, but if you move your entire library, you'll just sync the same content back to your phone.

  • I got a new computer and i need to install itunes on it

if i install itunes on my new computer and connect my ipod to it, will it delete all the data off my ipod when i connect it?

You need to copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.

  • Got a new computer and want to install itunes but it already says it was downloaded

I purchased a new dell computer.  went to the apple web page to download itunes to the new computer, clicked on download and it says "thanks for downloading itunes" but nothing happened.  Have checked my download folder, it never asked me to go thru any of the steps, cked you tube for suggestions I followed the instructions but once again it never shows up on my computer to go thru the set up stages on this new computer.
Could someone plese tell me what I am doing wrong????
    Sincerely,
    kevrickat

I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?
