Update the programs. If you wish to go back to your old system, then erase your drive and reinstall the backup you made of your system before you chose to update to Mavericks.

Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.

Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list. Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

OS X Mavericks- Reinstall OS X
OS X Mountain Lion- Reinstall OS X

NEW VERSION has a serious problem with the recepient fields

CC
BCC
old version I could paste from excel a list of email addresses into the TO field and it would work perfectly even if:
they had a "," (comma) at the end of each email
or if
they had a line break (one empty row)
TB would just recognize them as valid - for example:
"[email protected],
[email protected]
[email protected]"
would be treated as
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
~~~~~~~~~~~~ NEW VERSION BUG:
it chokes at both the comma and the empty line -- it sends the message but puts a comma as
",[email protected]"
when sending the [email protected] line for example.
PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM.

THANK YOUHi Toad - thanks for the note. I saw that you were able to recreate it -- your first reply talking about importing addresses .csv etc. is all fine but the way I have used TB for years is as follows. I run several mailing lists etc.
for example
I go to excel
and I copy let's say a 100 rows (1 column) that contain either

<BLANK cell anywhere>
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
THEN I go to TB - put curser in BCC field (change TO to BCC) - and hit paste.
It pastes it as one line.
THEN I press RETURN
and it separates it to multiple BCC lines.
This has always worked.
The new version chokes at this
AT THE BLANK LINE
AT THE COMMA
ETC.....

However, if you imported the .csv file as an address book, you could use it within Thunderbird. If wanting to send one email to several people, then create Mailing Lists. This does not fix your scenario, but it will resolve the issue of sending one email to a group of valid email addresses.

I started having internet problems with all my devices in the house, ipod, imac, pc laptop, tablets, etc... found out after being on the phone with comcast for hours, they determined my modem that they supply was bad. So I have the new modem now and very simple to install it and get everything working. However, I cannot get online with a web browser of any sort on my imac. which had no issues before.
All my devices in the house work perfectly now with the new modem and my speeds are great, and even the imac (with the airporter) states it is connected. but I cant do anything pertaining to the internet. I have spent hours on the tech line with comcast and they cant seem to find the issue and said it is with my Imac, even though it was working fine before.
Does anyone have any ideas, is there simply something I'm missing, please help. As I stated before, everything else that we own works great and has great connection. and the Imac states it is connected, but mail, internet, non of that works...??????

I have stopped using Firefox as nothing I have done has fixed this problem. I have tried shutting down Firefox and rebooting it, I cleared all my add-ons and then added adblock back (that's the only one) but it still doesn't work. I've deleted large files so that I have more space - I can't think of anything else that will work. I have spoken to four of my friends with Macs and they are all having the same problem with Firefox since Mavericks.
Hi thanks very much for your reply. I did a few things like delete my add-ons and I don't have the problem of the disappearing cursor (sounds like a Sherlock Holmes story) any more but it seems to have been a mac issue as there were many complaints on the Apple forums of the cursor disappearing since the Mavericks OS and not just in Firefox but in multiple programs. Looks like they've fixed it somehow!

If you work with 12 instead of 13, please update 12 to 12.1 using an opened 12 project's Help Menu/Update.
I ran into a Premiere Elements 12 install/Sign In issue which was also resolved by updating the Adobe Application Manager.

Ok so sorry for clogging the community!! I figured it out - you have to copy your videos into itunes manually. I did that, synched and all good!

I have a windows computer running xp. I can not load the latest version of I tunes. I receive an error message that the 'msi" file can not be found. I can not delete I tunes for the same reason.
