I got a new windows computer and I can't transfer all of my music to it from my old computer. I have some music on my phone but not all of it so when I plug it in only some of my music shows up and none of my playlists.

I got a new Lenovo Windows computer and I'm trying to transfer my iTunes library to my new computer. I can't figure out how. I tried plugging in my iPhone and it synched what music was on my phone but I don't have my entire library on my phone and none of my playlists transferred. I tried authorizing my computer and it is but it still isn't showing up. I turned on my homesharing on my new and old computer but apparently I have two other computers I have authorized and I don't know which ones they are, probably ones that have been thrown out. What do I do now?

iDevices are not and have never been backup devices.
Authorizing a computer does not cause media to magically appear.
Media is only where the user puts it.
Copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder from the old computer to the new computer.

If you bought them on your iPad then you will need to connect your iPad to your computer's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy them over to the Tones part of your computer's iTunes library and you can then sync them to your iPhone - ringtones are a one-time only download, so you won't be able to redownload them directly on your phone.

If you want to transfer app dat you need to restore the new iPod from the backup of the old iPod. Restoring from backup will result in your new iPod being just like your old iPOd except you will have to reenter keychain items like passwords since those only get restore to the same device upon a restore.

i got a new laptop. I used to hae a PC and then got a Mac. my old laptop crashed and I had so much music on it. So when I plugged my iphone into my Mac I was able to put my purchased music on my iphone but nothing else. Some how my old laptop worked again so I was able to get my old music on my iphone. You don't import photos from the iPhone to your computer using iTunes.

The songs all played on my old computer without prompting me for a password.
Any ideas how I can get around this hassle and get them all to play? We're talking about 800 songs that are being obstinate. The new computer is authorized under my "new" Apple id, which I have used for years.

Are you using a Mac? It sounds like you are using his computer to sync to. If this is the case, then it will sync to all of his stuff unless a new user is created with your personal stuff on it.
When you want to sync your iPhone to that computer, switch to your user first, and then everything will sync with your stuff. If he wants to hook up his iPhone to sync it, then he needs to switch back to his own username first.

- Try another charging source
- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
