Apps purchased from the App Store in iTunes are only for iOS devices such as the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. To use such an app, you need to connect your iOS device to your computer and iTunes will send the app to the device. You then run the app on the device.
There is a separate Mac App Store (MAS) available to Macs running OS X 10.6.6 or later. You purchase apps in the same way as the App Store in iTunes, but apps purchase in the Mac App Store will work directly on the Mac.

Completely delete app from itunes and prevent from redownloading

Hi.
I downloaded an app on my ipod touch. Whenever I fire up itunes on my mac air, it keeps downloading the app. This is even though under Store Preferences I have unchecked Apps under the Automatic Downloads.
Also, how do I completely delete this app from my Mac itunes. Even though I hit the delete key and make it go away, the next time I fire up itunes, it resumes downloading from where it left off.
How do I completely delete this app from itunes? And, how do I stop Apps downloads in itunes (I still want songs to download)?

I am also having the same problem.., But I consistently download the non-HD Version as able-bodied and again delete it, or it keeps aggravating to download every time I start iTunes..

Deleted app from itunes and iphone appearing in updates

I have tries to install app 'Prince of Persia: Warrior within' from itunes but cancelled it looking at the app size. But this app appears in update section when I click 'itunes download available' or if I click download all apps. Again, it is also happening for one more app which I installed and deleted ('Capcom Arcade') but again it appears in download section and starts to download automatically.
I am really frustrated with this activity as I have to always check that itunes is not automatically downloading these applications other wise it consumes by internet bandwidth (both apps are more than 500 MB of size).

To completely remove an app from iTunes & your phone, do this: Right-click the app in your iTunes library, select delete, when prompted, move all files to trash, empty your trash, connect your phone, if prompted that there is purchased content on your phone not in your iTunes library, decline to transfer, hit the sync button. The app and all of its data will be gone.

I dont think I explained my question v well. When I sink my iphone all the apps that are in the category of iphone, ipod and Ipad sync. There are a couple things that I would recommend trying. Try closing all open applications and power cycle the device. Next, go through the section labeled Troubleshoot issues on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in the second article below. If the issue persists, try completely signing out of the iTunes Store on the iOS device and sign back in. Be sure to test downloading an application after each step.

Hello apple support community! I'm trying to download my music purchases from iTunes onto my old Mac Mini. It runs OS 10.4.11 and doesn't have the capacity to upgrade to a newer OS. When I ask iTunes to check for available downloads, it says there are none. I have tried updating the iTunes software (version 9.0.2) but it can't connect to the server, even though I am on a wireless network. I've tried using home sharing and file sharing with my macbook air, but neither are working. Grateful for any suggestions!! The only thing I really use this mini for is music, so really hoping to be able to get my music purchases on there. Thanks.

Thanks, Jim, for taking the time, but the reply is unfortunately vague in the exact area of my confusion! "you need to copy that file to your new computer..." Well, the Import/Export instructions make it seem as if the two computers should be able to communicate this file thru wifi, but that's the linkage I can't seem tocreate with Import/Export. Should I instead email a copy to myself (thats what applecare suggested)? Copy it to and from a thumb drive? But then place the file where? And the article was helpful, but should I be trying to move the Library file or the Library.xml file (as iTunes Help suggests)? Sorry to be so clueless about it...I suppose I buy Apple in the hopes of not having to think about this stuff, which approach seems not to be serving me well. Thanks again for your time!

I have Windows 7 on a Dell. Open and play iTunes in the compatability mode and use Windows XP (service pack 2). Disregard any messsages to disable the compability mode. This has worked for me. I have also reinstalled iTunes and played with burn speeds etc. These ideas did not work. Compatability mode works.

Today I purchased one application plus I downloaded a couple of free apps, and when I tried syncing only two of them would work, and not including the one I purchased, I retried a couple of times, but the syncing always missed the same ones.

I only have two screens, and the second one is not even full.
I might as well explain you my trouble:
When I sync, it appears as if the iPhone would not recognize the apps, even when I try to sync only the ones that have the problems, they wouldn´t sync.
How come?
There are other applications I have downloaded, where it says, that it won't work with my iPhone due to country permits. whatever, but there's a reason, here I get no reason at all.
I'd be glad if you have any answers.
