  • TS3274 My Air Ipad keeps switching to voice-over, it will not allow me to enter my password. It keeps saying that I've entered the wrong password.  It's asking for a password of zero value. How can I correct this.

My Air Ipad keeps switching to voice-over, and it will not allow me to enter my password. It keeps saying that I've entered the wrong password.  It's asking for a password of zero value. When I enter my personal password that I created, it say it the wrong password, then it say try again in 5 minutes and shuts itself down.  Is anyone else having this issue and how can I fix it?

    Hello SharonLo
Your best bet would be to restore your iPad if it is not accepting your passcode. Check out the article below to walk you putting your iPad into recovery mode and using iTunes to restore it.
iOS: Forgotten passcode or device disabled after entering wrong passcode
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to shut down.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then restore the device.

  • How can I stop pop-ups saying "There is a problem logging on to server...You do not have permission..."., How can I stop pop-ups saying "There is a problem logging on to server...You do not have permission...".

I have a Mac Mini (early 2009) running OSX 10.8.1 on a Windows network that is driving me nuts.
    Background
Typically, 6 or 7 computers are running (Windows 7, OSX 10.8.1 and Linux) on the network at any given point in time.   Network printers and hand helds (iphones, PlayBooks, etc.) are also connected.
    The problem
If one specific Windows 7 desktop is running, a pop-up error message comes up frequently.  The eror message is:
There was a problem connecting to the server "[Server name or IP]".    You do not have permission to access this server.
The pop-up sometimes refers to the device name and sometimes refers to the IP address of the desktop.
    Oddities:
This does not occur on a MacBook Pro also running 10.8.1
The error message does not occur for other Windows computers on the network.  I have laptops running Windows 7 Professional that have never shown up on the error message..
Files on the problem desktop are easily accessible through [Finder].
Things I've tried to resolve the problem:
Ran software update - multiple times
Changed the destination drive for [Time Machine] and completed a backup
Cleared the "Recent Server" list from the [Finder][Go][Connect to Server] screen
Attempted to demount the desktop in [Finder].  The option was not available
Disconnected from the desktop in [Finder].  This did not resolve the problem and the desktop was automatically showing on the [Shared] list in [Finder] after the next reboot.
Booted in SAFE mode to see if the problem re-occurred in SAFE mode.  It did not.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you.  It wasn't in there directly, but CISCO's "Network Magic" was there.  Removing it appears to have solved the problem.
Thanks again and have a good weekend.

  • TS3297 I tunes keeps saying they are rejecting my credit card, even though I am entering everything correctly. Why might this be, how can I fix it?

I had to change my credit card on I tunes. It is saying it is rejecting my new card and that I have pending payments on the old card that did not go through. The old card was stolen so I had to cancel it. What do I do?

Purchase an iTunes Gift Card for roughly the amount that the unpaid purchases are for, then redeem it to the account. Quite simply the easiest way to resolve this issue. Once redeemed, the order will be paid for using the store credit, and you will then be free to change your payment method.

  • I just got my MacBook Air and every time I go to a website other ads and websites pop up saying I need to clean my mac out. Any ideas on what I should do?

When I am surfing the web other websites pop up saying I need to clean my mac out or I am a winner of something. I just got my Mac so I'm not sure how this happened.

You may have installed the "VSearch" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.
Malware is constantly changing to get around the defenses against it. The instructions in this comment are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data before proceeding.
    Step 1
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/LaunchAgents/com.vsearch.agent.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "com.vsearch.agent.plist" selected. Drag the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password.
Repeat with each of these lines:
    /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vsearch.daemon.plist
    /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vsearch.helper.plist
    /Library/LaunchDaemons/Jack.plist
Restart the computer and empty the Trash. Then delete the following items in the same way:
    /Library/Application Support/VSearch
    /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/Jack
    /System/Library/Frameworks/VSearch.framework
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ConduitNPAPIPlugin.plugin
Some of these items may be absent, in which case you'll get a message that the file can't be found. Skip that item and go on to the next one. Even if you find none of the items listed in this step, go on to Step 2.
    Step 2
From the Safari menu bar, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Uninstall any extensions you don't know you need, including any that have the word "Spigot," "Trovi," or "Conduit" in the description. If in doubt, uninstall all extensions. Do the equivalent for the Firefox and Chrome browsers, if you use either of those.
Reset the home page and default search engine in all the browsers, if it was changed.
This trojan is distributed on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect much worse to happen in the future.
You may be wondering why you didn't get a warning from Gatekeeper about installing software from an unknown developer, as you should have. The reason is that this Internet criminal has a codesigning certificate issued by Apple, which causes Gatekeeper to give the installer a pass. Apple could revoke the certificate, but as of this writing, has not done so, even though it's aware of the problem. This failure of oversight has compromised both Gatekeeper and the Developer ID program. You can't rely on Gatekeeper alone to protect you from harmful software.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

I had the same problem. My phone wasn't finding it so I tried plugging it into my laptop and it said I needed the latest iTunes which I already had.... I unplugged my phone from my laptop and did a soft reset to my phone (hold down the lock button and home button at the same time until your phone turns off) once it turns back on you should find the update... Click general... Software update. Worked for me!

  • Newest flash player installed but window keeps popping up saying I need it installed

I have tried over and over again, installing, uninstalling the Newest Edition of Adobe Flash Player.  Even though the icon shows up in my programs listing saying its in the computer and that the installation was complete, I still get these small windows showing up stating I need to install the latest flash player when I want to view certain videos.  Is it in the computer or not?  Help!!

I have a Compaq Presario F700 32 bit computer with Internet Explorer 9 as defaullt browser.  I have been having issues getting the flash Player to work....it keeps coming up that I need to download the Flash player when I try to view a video online, like off the weather channel or You tube.  It IS in my program list when I open up Programs. sometimes videos come up, other times not.  I uninstalled it, reinstalled it, uninstalled it again and again, the screen says that it installed successfully but the window still pops up saying I need to install the newest edition.    I have been having issues with my computer after updating a PC cleaner ARO2012, but this download is taken out now, Also when I put a recent update on the Weather channel, the computer froze up, otherwise it was doing pretty well yesterday. It seems like I have a problem with updates from companies, I noticed it twice that the computer froze up soon after.
Also I removed recent downloads thinking that was the problem but the issue still remains.  I  have done everything that Adobe had instructed in regard to trying to fix this. Even my Microsoft Fix it comes up with errors and I cannot run it.  I am beginning to think that my computer is just old(over 5 years) and the downloads are being affected by my hard disc drive not working properly.  I did a disc check and one time it stated I had a corrupted Disc C.  But then on Startup repair it claimed to have deleted or fixed the problem.   I get blue and black screens popping up on my computer often, saying that the program had to close to protect the computer.  So I don’t know...I did everything possible.  when I go onto the Adobe website.....that little screen they ask you if anything shows up on it to determine if Adobe is installed?  Well...it shows up completely blank, not even a error message...but yet, the Adobe Flash player is installed in my computer according to my programs list. Ok,  Hope I covered everything.  S Lind

  • HT4009 I attempted an in app purchase of gems in Clash of Clans.  After entering my password I got a pop up saying "Your purchase could not be completed" & directing me to support at this site.  I have not found anything here that solves the problem.

I attempted to purchase gems as an in app purchase in Clash of Clans. After entering my password I got a pop up saying the purchase could not be completed & telling me to go to the support page.  My settings allow in app purchases.  Why am I unable to make in app purchases?

If you are getting a message to contact iTunes Support then you can do so via this link and ask them for help (we are fellow users here on these forums, we won't know why you are getting the message) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • When I open Safari I get a pop up saying I need to call pc support to help clear malware. It locks up Safari and I can't do anything. Any ideas?

I have a problem with Safari, when I open it I get a pop up from call-pc-support.com and a 855 phone number to call for help. I was wondering if there is a way to delete and reinstall Safari to get rid of this thing? I don't know how long this has been going on because I usually just use Chrome.

It's not malware. It's a JavaScript scam that only affects your web browser, and only temporarily.
    1. Some of those scam pages can be dismissed very easily. Press command-W to close the tab or window. A huge box will pop up. Press the returnkey and both the box and the page will close. If that doesn't happen, continue.
    2. From the Safari menu bar, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
and uncheck the box marked Enable JavaScript. Leave the preferences dialog open.
Close the malicious window or tab.
Re-enable JavaScript and close the preferences dialog.
    3. If the Preferences menu item is grayed out, quit Safari. Force quit if necessary. Relaunch it by holding down the shift key and clicking its icon in the Dock. From the menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
to get rid of any cookies or other data left by the server. Open your Downloads folder and delete anything you don't recognize.

  • I got an onscreen notice saying that something in firefox was outdated

I got an onscreen notice saying that something in firefox was outdated. When I clicked the Accept & Install button the following programs automatically loaded onto my computer: HD Player-MTCD16044,
PC speed clean, VO Package, VLC Media Player, Any Product, & My PC Backup. Did any, or all of these programs come as part of a Firefox update? Did the come from Firefox at all? If not, how did the get to my computer? In retrospect this seems all to similar to the recent IE problems. If they have, or had, nothing to do with firefox how do I get rid of them? If they did come from Firefox which ones are necessary & which ones are just junk? In the future how do I detect legitimate update from bogus ones?

hello RMKPhoto, this is a scam tactic that is trying to trick you into installing ad- & malware! only download firefox from its official location at mozilla.org - in addition updates are handled automatically by firefox so you don't have to download anything (you can initiate a check for updates in the firefox ''menu [[Image:New Fx Menu]] > help [[Image:Help-29]] > about firefox'') - as a rule of thumb: if something is prompting you to download and run a .exe file in order to update firefox this will be fake!
you might also want to run a full scan of your system with the security software already in place and different tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes], [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner] & [http://www.kaspersky.com/security-scan kaspersky security scan] in order to make sure that there isn't already some sort of malware active on your system that triggers these false alerts.
[[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]]
you could also help by pressing F10 & going to ''help > report web forgery'' while you're on a dubious page that send out such notifications - this might get the page into the list of malicious sites that get blocked in firefox (the actual list is maintained by google) or when such pages use the firefox logos or trademarks to trick users into downloading malware you could also file it at https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/legal/fraud-report/.
