I got an email saying my apple icloud account was recently cancelled..

I got an email saying my apple icloud account was recently cancelled,  but I didnt do anything to cancel or change it. Since then computer is running slower and my internet is not working. what could be wrong with it?
Please help!

It is more than likely a phishing scam to trick you to submit personal information .
If you clicked on anything in the email and submitted any information, I strongly suggest you log into your Apple ID account and change your passwords.
If you did nothing, good, and delete the email.

  • I got an email saying my Apple account was going to be suspended unless I validated through an email.  Is this legit?  I did go on line and update my info, but I'm not convinced that was actually from Apple.

It is a phishing attempt. Do not respond. Do not divulge any personal or financial information. You can use the address below to forward the suspect email message to Apple.

  • Just got an email saying my Apple ID was updated

I just received an emailed saying my applied had been updated, and if this wasn't the case click on the links provided to update. Is this a hack?

If you are receiving e-mail messages that indicate that someone is trying to reset your Apple ID password, they may be phishing scams. Do not click any links in those e-mail messages, and if you make the mistake of doing so, do not provide your current Apple ID password on the page you are directed to.
Unfortunately, in this case, there's nothing to be done except treat those messages the same way you would any other spam.
The other possibility is that someone is actually trying to reset your Apple ID password. This may be due to a malicious attack, but more likely, it's just someone who thinks your Apple ID is actually theirs (due to a typo, faulty memory or something similar) and is trying to "regain" access. In any case, this is merely an annoyance, but you can put an end to it by enabling two-factor authentication on your Apple ID. This will require an additional piece of information that only you will possess in order to even start the password reset process.
If you are actually seeing your password getting changed, and are having to reset it yourself to regain access, you are being hacked. This could be because your password is not strong enough to withstand a brute-force attack by a botnet. It could also be because the attacker already has access to your e-mail address, and is able to intercept the reset e-mail and complete the reset process. Because of that danger, you should change the password for the e-mail account associated with your Apple ID. You should also change the password for your Apple ID, making sure that it is a strong password, and enable two-factor authentication as mentioned above.

  • Why is Earthlink blocking Email from my Apple iCloud Account?

There is no section for Apple Mail, so posting here.
Anyone else noticing that Earthlink isn't accepting mail from the Apple SMTP servers?

  • HT5577 I got an email saying I should reset my password.  I can't get in to do it

I got an email saying I should reset my passwork because somebody has used face time on my phone - what do I do?

If the email said that you needed to reset your password and had a link to click on, don't do it. It's probably a phish rather than a real message from Apple. If the email just said that someone had made some sort of change and that if it wasn't you that made, or attempted to make, the change then you should change your password, then go here:

Sign in and you can change your password there.

Yes, this would seem the most likely reason to me.

  • After i installed ios 7 in my iPhone 4s and I got problem to login into my icloud account. There is a message appear and said  "the operation couldn't be completed (com.apple.appleaccount error 403)" can you help me ? how can i fix this problem ? iPhone 4

After i installed ios 7 in my iPhone 4s and I got problem to login into my icloud account.
There is a message appear and said  "the operation couldn't be completed (com.apple.appleaccount error 403)"
can you help me ? how can i fix this problem ?
    iPhone 4, iOS 7
    iPhone 4S, iOS 7, (com.apple.appleaccount error 403)"

    Error: com.apple.appleaccount error 403
Recreate Error: On a Iphone/Ipad device that has "already" created the maximum of 3 per device Apple limit of ICloud account creation attempt to create or login to ICloud service tab in Settings. You will be presented with "com.apple.appleaccount error 403" which does not tell the laymen anything useful.
Cause: IOS 7 reports a "best guess" error instead of detailed error explanation.
How To Resolve Error: Find a device that has not been used to create an ICloud account the maximum 3 times and use it to create the ICloud account by logging into the Settings/ICloud tab with the Apple ID you want a ICloud account created for.
Keep in mind this will use up one of the three lifetime allowed ICloud account creations allowed by Apple on that device.
Also per support: If an existing account is logged into the ICloud service. A. Backup phone using iTunes on a mac/pc. B. At bottome of Settings/ICloud Delete the account "AND" all the user date from the phone. It will offer the Delete all data option. The reason for Deletion(and is why we backed up on a pc vs. the cloud) is when you create the new ICloud account it will backup all of the Device owners information to the wrong persons account.
Once you have created the new ICloud account log into that account on device that was presenting error: "com.apple.appleaccount error 403" it should allow the ICloud login.
Once you have verified the "device with error" is ICloud functional delete the ICloud account from the device used to seed the ICloud account and delete again all user data from cloud. Restore the recently created mac/pc Itunes locally created backup to the phone and then go to Settings/ICloud and login with the device owners Apple ID and password and verify your backup to the ICloud settings and Eureka! your done.
It took less time to do that for me to type this lol.

  • I got an email saying my iPhone was eligible for an unlock and another email saying the request was denied?

I don't know what is going on. I recieved an email saying I'm eligible yesterday and to wait 24 hours for everything to complete and not even 5 minutes afterwards I got another email saying my request was denied.
Has this happened to anyone else? If so what did you do to resolve this?
Anyone else have an idea on what happened or what I could do?

You should contact the carrier that's sending you these emails and ask them what's going on.

  • I keep getting emails saying my Apple ID was used to purchase an pal when I didn't make the purchase

I Keep getting emails saying my Apple ID was used to purchase an app in the amount of $xx.  I did not make the purchase.  I keep dumping these emails into trash as it seems like spam but it's getting annoying.  Email appears to be coming from Apple.  Any ideas?

If you think it's spam move it to junk instead of trash. Read the article below and report one to Apple.

I keep receiving emails saying my apple id password has been changed when I havent changed it? Nobody else has access to my emails or can answer my security questions??
I have changed my email password aswell as having to keep changing my apple is password an it keeps changing?

Sounds like you follow good practices.
This has been going around for some time in various forms, a number of users have asked about it and the best advice is if in doubt go doirectly to Apple, not links in the email.  Calling Apple or using the Apple site is always the best approach.
A few have even noticed very slight misspellings in the emails, things like Appel instead of Apple...most people don't even notice those.
Anyway, safe computing and have a good day.
