I Got an error while trying to download itunes help PLZZZ?!?!?!!?

Ok when i just got my first ipod touch for my birthday on november 11th. i tried to hook it into itunes but then it says it does not support this device. so then i went onto the website and downloaded itunes 9 it said
The application has Failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail.
so after that i was wondering hmm what happen if i deleted itunes then download it and so i did i put it so it runs as administrator and when it was about to finish installing this error comes up.
an error occurred during the installation of assembly 'microsoft. VC80.CRT, Version ="8.0.50727.4053" ,type = "win32" ,publicKeytToken = '1fc8b3b9a1e3b" ,process orArchitecture ="x86". Please refer to help and support for more information. HRESULT: 0x8007054F.
It would be very greatfull if someone helped me find a solution. because im getting a little impatient

Go to "control panel" then "add or remove programs". Highlight "Apple software update" Choose "change" click "Repair" This should do the trick. Then download and install iTunes 10.5 again.

But when updating iOS, you should expect the new version to use somewhat more space than the old. I believe going to Settings > General > Usage and freeing space will help with your issue.
Another recommendation would be to use iTunes on your computer to do the update instead of over-the-air.

Not there aren't any special settings for this. You just use the Open In feature to save the document into Pages. You could have a font in the document that Pages doesn't like, maybe something that you copied and pasted from somewhere into the document that went corrupt. But there is nothing special about the way that you save a Word document into Pages. You save it like you save any document or file into a compatible app.

Tried installing both thru apple software updater and directly from Apple website -- still get error. I am also having trouble downloading new updates for my computer, has anyoone exp this?? I am so frustrated, I have a new nano and can't use it

Okay, let's try some general principles troubleshooting with this one, then.
(1) Do you currently have a copy of the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package installed on that PC? If so, try downloading the following security update:

Does iTunes install for you after applying that update?
(2) If no joy there, head into your Windows Update and click on the Update History. Have a lot of Updates also been failing for you recently? If so, doubleclick on the entries for the failed updates to bring up more information on each. What error codes appear for you for the failed updates? (Precise spelling, please.)
