I got an iPad (3) and set it up on my laptop (Windows 7) with my iPhone (4). The iTunes upgrade (before 6) crashed iTunes. I couldn't get iTunes to run again until upgraded to 6. Now nothing will sync. I have a small fraction of my apps. Help, please.

According to my laptop, when I hook up my iPhone, either I hit an error of "user defined breakpoint" or it's having issues recognizing the iPad (when the iPhone is hooked up).
I've also tried installing iTunes on my work computer, but it won't recognize the phone unless I update iTunes. When I try to update, I get errors and iTunes crashes.
I'm worried because I haven't backed up my phone or pad in over 2 months and nothing I'm trying works.

In technical support, sometimes you have to make educated guesses. I'm sorry that you were offended.
iTunes does prompt when it is going to erase a device, and the message is clear.
She said in her message that she was able to successfully sync the old ipad. This indicated to me that itunes wiping the data was not an issue, because either it had been setup at the apple store (in which case it doesn't actually wipe the ipad despite saying it will*) (*based on a single case I saw), or because the itunes media folder was migrated.
Furthermore, my solution was to tell her how to backup her ipad (by either doing it manually, or as a last resort, by deleting the corrupt backup -- that she couldn't access anyway.)
I got that last part of the instructions from the "Taking Control of your iphone" book which I found samples of when I did a google search for "corrupted backup itunes".
She marked this as a solution, so it worked for her.

    Just out of curiosity, why did you elect to use a different id?.  That seems to always make things difficult.  If you have not had the pad for long, or have not bought a lot of stuff Nader the new id, you might want to think about erasing all content, turn off find my phone, wiping the pad and starting over.
    You can sync 2 different ids ( at least move pictures, books and music back and forth) if you are syncing through I tunes on your computer, but I don't think you can cross feed I cloud streams.

    I have 3 ipod touches.  Just got a new one and set up an apple id for it.  But when i use the ipod to go to store to make a purchace.  It tells me to sign in, and brings up an Apple ID and ask for password.  the problem is the Apple ID its bringing up is for my other Ipods.  How do i change it to bring up my id i set up with That ipod.  I never once put that id into the current ipod.  Like i dont even know how it got there.

    This is what yo have to do:
    Go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores and sign out and sign in with the other account.
    That is the only place.
    Try signing out. Then
    Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    Then sign back in.

    Usually it's because you are not making internet connection via wifi.

    Additional things to try.
    Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

    Check for .dll files
    Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
    If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
    Reboot your computer.
    Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
    Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
    Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
    Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
    Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.

    There are no alternative voicemail apps - the core functionality of the phone can not be replaced.
    You'll have to look for an external service, that can then forward calls for each caller onto the correct phone.
    At our business we use Voipfone.co.uk which allows multiple phone lines to come into one VOIP account.

    Update has now nbeen running for hours. Says only a minute left and has done for the last 45 minutes. Seriously crap. Then I try plugging into my £1,000 MacBook Pro: it tells me I can't sync as I need the 11.1 iTunes update on my phone. Hmmmm.
    At this moment in time, I fecking loathe Apple's iOS7 update. It's created problems, not fixed them. What kind of research did they perform on this garbage? Any at all? Honestly, how the **** did it get this bad?
    Mine is not an isolated incident either. Many, many of my frineds are MacHeads and they all report similar problems from slow upgrades to failed units. This is an extremely pathetic attempt, Apple.

    Although i share your feelings and are not very happy with iOS 7 myself i think your should rethink how to express this anger. Since this is a user to user forum and apple will not directly read in here you can go to www.apple.com/feedback to tell them. If you lower the tone down a bit it is much more likely that your feedback will be considered.
    Now bad feelings, though.

    I see.  If you go to Settings>General>About>Name, that is the current name of your phone.  The backup bearing that name should be the more recent one, and therefore the one you want to keep.  I would delete the other one (presumably the one set up by Best Buy under your real name, assuming you changed it later), then see if that gives you enough space to back up again.
    If it still reporting insufficient storage, use this guide: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4847 to try to determine what's taking up all your room.  In them meantime, you can perform a manual backup on your computer so your have a current one while you're troubleshooting this.  To do so, connect your phone to iTunes, then right-click on the name of your phone on the left side and select Back Up.

    If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try using the steps in this article to force the device into recovery mode.
