I never stole an iphone ipad, or a ipod, the only 2 i got were for christmas one from this past christmas and the other last year and i have bought 2 ipod touches this past year, and on the new one i activated it under my apple id, so i used a itunes card to download music to my ipod touch. • Safari 7.0.5 problem-- I can't erase saved passwords-- I delete it in Preferences, it keeps entering the old password. I just got locked out of a bank account-- AGAIN!

I changed my password for an important account.
I deleted the old password under preferences on Safari.
I entered the new password and it asked to save it.
Next time I went to the account----it entered the old password--- and after three tries, I was locked out of the account.
I re-did the whole process--- it happened again!
    Help!

Passwords saved by Safari are actually stored in Keychain Access.
Open Keychain Access located in   HD > Applications > Utilities
    Select Passwords on the left.
Type in the name of the website you are trying to change the password for top right corner of the Keychain Access window.
That website keychain should be there.
Then right or control click that keychain then click Delete.
Then back to Safari. From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
    Click:  Remove All Website Data
Then select the Passwords tab then delete the the website. Make sure: AutoFill user names and passwords is selected.
Now go to the bank account website and try changing your password.

  • Trying to connect to a Windows share locks out users Windows account.

Right then I’m coming to the end of my tether !!!
I've got a user who needs to access a share on a Windows server. All is well and the user gets the challenge prompt but instead of letting him in it constantly challenges him locking out his windows account.
Now the share is on a DC so i cant make him a local Admin and the only way i can get this working is to have him in the domain admin group which is NOT the way forward, so i'm looking at permissions i guess.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to fix this .. Arhhhh

The Seagate drive at Amazon should work fine.

  • Got locked out as administrator

I know this has been asked before but could not find an answer that I could use.
Got locked out from my computer as an administrator -- did not forget the log in code - but I get the computer shaking when I enter the log-in info that I have been using for a while.
Tried to booth from the Lion usb start up disk -- tried to use previous back ups -- I just can not get in ...
Any one with ideas -- besides taking it to service
I'll never make it as a hacker since I can not even get into my own computer that I have used for years....

Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the Mac OS X Utilities screen appears, select Utilities ▹ Terminal from the menu bar.
In the Terminal window, enter “resetpassword” and press return. A Reset Password window opens.
Select your boot volume if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Follow the prompts to reset the password. It's safest to choose a password that includes only the characters a-z, A-Z, and 0-9.
Select  ▹ Restart from the menu bar.
You should now be able to log in with the new password, but you won't be able to unlock the Keychain. If you've forgotten the Keychain password (which is ordinarily the same as your login password), there's no way to recover it. You’ll need to reset your keychain in the preferences of the Keychain Access application.

  • I couldn't find out my security questions and I got locked out . I tried to send an email to my rescue email but my sister does not have access to that email any more please help.

I need help ASAP. I got locked out of my Apple ID and I can't get my security questions. I can't use my rescue email to get the answers to my security questions because my sister no longer has access to that email address.

If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then see if this user tip helps : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4551
e.g. you can try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then try Apple ID Account Security
or try ringing Apple in your country and ask to talk to the Accounts Security Team : http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57

  • Locked out of email account

Rang help desk wednesday15th July 5pm to advise i am locked out of email account upon return from OSWas advised yes, I was locked out due to hack attempt and that I would receive call/email (to gmail account) with 48 hrs to advise on how I could gain access to email account.Rang Thurs 16th July to again se how it was going, was told to wait untill Fri 17th for information to be sent.Used live chat to help desk 17th July 5pm to see what was going on.Yes, I am locked out and I would be advised within 4 business days of what was happening.4 business days with weekend = 1 week. And that was just to tell me what was going on, not an actual fix. This is my business email.I have 3 weeks of emails from clients, contractors and customers awaiting my action.I have wasted 3 plus hours trying get a answer. This is a problem of Telstras making. There is no weather issue holding up fix. There is no cable or harware that needs a tech to go and fix. This is a procedual problem that suits Telstras insterests, not mine. Telstra seems unwilling to fix this problem.Any attempt to have it escallated or get someone to call me that can solve the problem is refused.Appalling.

DrQwuerty90, tried the complaints way, no luck, again just got the service rep repeating back what was on his screen.4 business is not to solve, it was 4 business days to advise what was going on.4 business days to solve a internal process fault that they control?Really? This is the best they can do? No work around, no offer to help setup a alternative email account, to redirect email to this? Is it that hard?Telstra is more interested in observing it's processess, not reviewing them to assist customers or intervening in these processes.I'm just a small business who has to bow and scrape to the almighty process that Telstra has decreed is written in stone and wow to any one who dares says.."This is not good enough"Off to Ombudsman

If the user account is associated with an Apple ID, and you know the Apple ID password, then maybe the Apple ID can be used to reset your user account password.
Otherwise*, boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
    from the menu bar.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window opens.
Select your boot volume if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Follow the prompts to reset the password. It's safest to choose a password that includes only the characters a-z, A-Z, and 0-9.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.
You should now be able to log in with the new password, but your Keychain will be reset (empty.) If you've forgotten the Keychain password (which is ordinarily the same as your login password), there's no way to recover it.
*Note: If you've activated FileVault, this procedure doesn't apply. Follow instead the instructions on this page:

  • I am attempting to make my first purchase in the App store, yet it is asking me security questions I know I didn't enable and I keep getting locked out of my account despite resetting everything.

This usually wouldn't pose to be a problem, but I am a college freshman and I just redeemed my $100 giftcard to the app store. I am beyond frustrated and don't know what to do.
It is my first time making a purchase off of this Mac with this account, so it is asking me two security questions. It keeps asking me who my favorite and least favorite teachers were. I know for a fact that these are not the security questions I enabled, so I went in to change them again and logged out of everything. I logged back in and I was getting the same thing from the App store -- it was asking me questions I didn't enable. I've been locked out of my account for eight hours twice and all of my Mac's information is at home and not easily accessable to me, so I don't want to have to call and be asked for information I do not have.
What do I do? I need some crucial apps for classes that start in less than fourty-eight hours from now?
I have changed my appleID's information three times now: passwords, rescue email, and of course, my security questions. I am at my wits end and not pleased that I will possibly be losing $100!

You've been hitten by Apple's recent SNAFU. I fear you are SoL until their pending investigation fiasco is over with.

  • I got locked out from my iPad mini during setup, keep ask me for passcode but I didn't set one up.  Reboot unsuccessful, iTune won't let me connect because I didn't enter my passcode. How to fix this?

I got locked out from my iPad mini during my initial setup.  Keep ask me for passcode but I haven't setup one.  Reboot and restart didn't solve the problem, tried connect to iTunes but it won't let me because it requires the passcode.  Tried my Exchanged password, Apple ID password and my iPhone passcode but none work.  Any idea to resolve this?

Try and force your iPad into Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
    Note: Data will be lost.
