I just got a new IPAD and transferred everything through the cloud from my old IPAD 2. The new one says "this IPAD is currently being restored. It has been that way for over two hours. Also, I Books opens and then closes right away with no content. Does it take this long, or is there an issue?
I also tried manually underlining a few things on the new iPad and when highlighting a paragraph, it would skip a few lines and the line would go through a few as well. Looks like a major iBooks glitch needs to be addressed here.

Somehow the country associated with my account was changed to China. I did not make this change. My credit card information needs to be updated but the system will not let me update either my credit card information or the country back to the United States. My updated credit card information is not accepted because the country is China. It will not allow me to change the country until the credit card information is changed. Help!!!

Hi - I made a mistake, I guess. I'm tring to upgrade to os 10.85. I now use 10.75. I bought the upgrade and downloaded it, completely I thought... but when I opened it to install it, a warning came up and said I need 10.8 in order to install 10.85. So...after some thought, I trashed the down load and went back to the app staore to find 10.8. the little box by the mountain lion image said 'downloading'/ Sure enough in a remote corner of the screen there was a little box that said it was downloading. arrgh. I'd already trashed what was downloaded in finder . So I figured I'd stop the download in the little box (which I think was 10.8) , turn off the mac. and then reboot, and download the whole thing again.
Now, when I go to the mountain lion image in the app store, and press 'download' It won't let me download at all. ??What to do??Back up all data.
I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, they may not work as described.
From the App Store menu bar, select
Store ▹ Check for Unfinished Downloads...
You may be prompted to sign in. If that doesn't solve the problem, quit the application and continue as below.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
open $TMPDIR../C
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). A folder should open. From that folder, delete the subfolder named "com.apple.appstore".
Quit Terminal. Launch the App Store and try again. -

You really can't delete the account.

YO can just delete all media purchased with the account and change the ID to a new one. and not lose things like photos except for photos directly associated with the ID like maybe photos in your PhotoStream -
I used to have a apple id but when i got my macbook i changed it. Then i downloaded OS X and updates in my app store will not let me change my apple id back to my new one it just still uses my old one. What do i do?

Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple Id to another. Apple does not merge Apple IDs. You will never be able to access your content bought with another Apple ID with a new ID. -
Can calendar entries from an iPhone be pushed up to the cloud for iPad and computer updating? My phone only seems to be receiving updates from the cloud, but not able to send them.
Under Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars, What do you have set for the Default Calendar? Personal?
If you don't have it set to a Cloud Calendar it will only create the entry locally. You would need to select the iCloud Calendar specifically when creating the Calendar entry to have it sync.
Otherwise set your default calendar to be the iCloud Calendar so all entries are created there by default. And as such get synced to other devices. -
My daughter has an iphone 3gs and it required an update. So i connected the iphone to itunes for the update and the iphone locked up . I had to reset the iphone back to factory settings and now the iphone will not activate , Please advise what i can do to get this working for her ?

hacked/modified/jailbroken and the update relocked it to the
original wireless carrier. If this is the case, only that wireless
carrier can unlock your iPhone. You must contact them to see
if they offer unlocking and if you qualify.
Where did you acquire this iPhone?
What wireless carrier did you use before this problem?
Does the app Cydia appear on your iPhone?
What does it say when you look at Settings=>General=>About=>Carrier?

A few details would help here. What kind of computer? What operating system is it running? What version of iTunes was running previously? Was there an error during installation? What actually happens when you try to launch iTunes now?

I have Windows 8 pro on my computer . I un-installed itunes on my computer to re-install itunes 7.1.1 Now the system will not allow the re-install. Can anyone help?
I have an HP Officejet Pro 7580 similar to the 8600 you have and after upgrading to Mountain Lion it wouldn't work. HP support site said download updates for Mountain Lion from App Store not their site so I went to software update but there were NO UPDATES FOR 10.8. Tried a million things and could not get printer to work. So I restored back to Lion figuring at least printer worked then only now I can't get it to work with old settings either. I am sick to death of claims by Apple and peripheral manufacturers that everything is compatible all you have to do is get updates well in this case THERE ARE NONE TO BE GOT and I don't have time to **** about trying to find 'work arounds'. There shouldnt be a need for work-arounds. Unless the updates are ready DONT release the new OS. You shouldn't have to be an IT tech to make basic things like printing work. I see also the HP 8600 is even sold by appstore so there is no reason why it shouldn't work with minimum fuss.

My granddaughter put the Start Up Disk in the drive inadvertently and now the drive will not eject it or start up using the HD. I have tried all of the suggestions for opening it that appear in the manual. Help? It is her computer, a iMac G3 or G4 with superdrive, the one with the ball shaped base. Thank you.
It's a tray loading drive, there should be a little hole next to it, just large enough for a paper clip. Stick the end of the paper clip in it and the tray should open.

My IPod Touch has a small crack at the top of the screen and now the slider will not work to unlock it. Is the cracked screen the problem?
To get pass the passcode lockscreen, recovery mode and restoring should help: iPhone and iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
If the issue continues after updating and restoring your device, refer to this document. -
After updating my phone yesterday it worked for about 30 minutes. Now however, it will not let me "Slide To Unlock" the screen is totally unusable and i have alarms that go off every 8 minutes because i am not able to get into my phone to them off. has anyone else had this problem with it being "stuck"?
Basics from the user guide have always been, and still remain, restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new.

Nothing. The message means you MUST restore your phone to factory settings. There's no way around this . Your phone is in recovery mode. That's the only way to get it out.

Aperture 2.1 hangs on import...
Everything worked fine before updating from 2.0 to 2.1 but now i cannot import anything to aperture. When i click on IMPORT the application hangs. Restarting did not help Any ideas? Thank you very much.
