I got my iphone replaced that was under warranty now I can't sync it, could not restore either
Please help me. How do I get my newly replaced iphone to back up to the restored back up?
Any errors? Is the device detected in iTunes?
Let's rule out the obvious, the device has been connected to the computer via the sync cable, correct?

Do you mean in the All Images search in the Finder?
IF so:
1.Never interact with photos that are in iPhoto via the All Images Search. This does not understand the iPhoto Library and it's very, very easy to damage the library this way.
2. What you were seeing was the original file you imported and the thumbnail created by iPhoto for viewing on the iPhoto Window. That thumbnail is not designed for user access.
What are you trying to do ultimately?

My iPhone 4 was recently stolen, so I erased it via the Find my iPhone app. I'm planning to get a new one and will want to restore it so it has all the data and setting from my old phone, but when I log into iTunes my old device isn't showing in the device list. If it's not showing in the device list how can I restore the content to my new phone?
Thanks for your very helpful reply. It's just what I needed after the stress and upset of having my phone and indeed my entire handbag stolen. I was under the impression that this was a forum to get help, but with people like you around apparently not!

Why would it? Devices only appear in the list when they are connected to iTunes either physically via a cable or via Wi-Fi.

I recently upgraded to Snow Leopard and was missing the drivers for my HP 5000 printer. I got the drivers from HP and downloaded them. When I unzipped the file, my computer went to the login page. I logged in but it stays on that page. Can't get to desktop or do anything. Can anyone help with this?

Your phone is locked to a carrier. Only a SIM from that carrier can be used to activate the phone. Ask the "friend of your mom's" to which carrier the phone is locked. You'll then need to contact that carrier and see if you are eligible to have the phone unlocked. If not, the phone is useless to you.

thanksThe SIM Lock is stored on the Apple Activation Server - if it has been correctly unlocked by a network then this would have been done on the Activation Server.
When you get your replacement handset through Apple they mirror the activation server details of your existing handset and the current SIM LOCK status is mirror'd onto the new device.

You could try taking to an iPhone Authorised service provider

I backed up my old 4s to my iMac and when I went to restore, I got this message "iTunes could not restore the iPhone because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iPhone that is being restored". I just purchased the iPhone 4S today so I know it's not the phone. How can I get my information back?
If it's corrupt, generally it would be lost.
However, there is third-party software out there that can retrieve some of the data, those of which however I could not recommend as I have never done so myself.
Also, if the old 4S was running a more recent software version than the current 4S, that may cause the issue however usually iTunes tells you exactly that.

If your backup copy of your computer was not stolen, then use it to put everything back.
Otherwise, authorize your computer for your itunes account, connect iphone, do not sync, Click: File>Transfer Purchases
This will transfer itunes purchases from the iphone to the computer.
Enter at least one unique contact and calendar entry on the new computer. When you first sync, then you should get the option to merge the data. -

Yes. There is no Superdrive. You cannot play DVDs or CDs.
You will need to buy an external DVD player/burner. Almost all will do the job, just make sure you can connect it, as your iMac does not have Firewire or USB2 (USB3 is backwards compatible).
Or there is of course the expensive one from Apple.
