Change your iTunes (Apple ID) password along with any other password that was stored in the iPod. If any passwords are associated with credit cards, contact the CC company and get your card replaced (with a new number). The "Find my..." function is pretty much useless if the device is in the hands of a thief. All that is necessary is for the thief to connect to any computer with iTunes and "Restore as new."

If you changed your facebook password they will not be able to login to your Facebook account.
Of course, other Facebook users may be able to see some of Facebook information depending upon how you have your privacy settings configured.

Since the lock was successful, the dirtbag who stole it will not be able to do anything with the iPod until it is restored as new. Of course that means you will no longer be able to locate it.

I have.. Had a 32 gb 2nd Gen iPod Touch, and it was stolen, I have informed the local authorities, as well as local stores that buy them. I have the serial number for it. Is there anything more I can do? I really want it back! Thank you for your help.

- go to settings>icloud

You shouldn't need to do anything other than plug in the new iPod. iTunes will recognize the new iPod (and I believe offer to sync to it) and then will copy all the tracks to the new iPod.

Unless it was already password protected you can't. There is no way to remotely access an iPod touch, unless you have installed iOS5 on it and it happens to be connected to a wifi network, in which case you can use the new 'find your ipod' process on icloud.com.
